Bryan, Amy and Charlie were exceptional. After a mountainside windstorm blew our door nearly off the hinges, we were suddenly in a bind while on a family road trip with little ones. Another repair shop that was unable to help us referred us to Gerber. When we called near closing time, Gerber told us to stop by and they would take a look. We waited in the lobby for a short while for an estimate and turns out they were able to get us back on the road within no time. Super affordable, courteous and an amazing blessing to our family. I ended up getting a migraine when I was home with my two young kids and was trying to coordinate coming to pick up my car when they offered to drive it to my house. I thought that was so kind and tried to give them a tip when they arrived and they wouldn't accept it! They also washed my car prior to bringing it to my house. I had what I thought was a minor rear end collision to my Ram 1500 truck. I was a little put off by having to schedule an appointment some 3 weeks in the future for an estimate, but got my vehicle in for repair very shortly after the estimate. Was supposed to take ten days, it was a little more than that due to supply issues (yeah, i guess we still got that). No big deal for me because this is my second car. Amy kept me well informed and went I after it was done, there was a very minor alignment issue with the bumper. Jeff was very understanding and fixed it the next day. I have to say that I think very highly of the way that both Amy and Jeff treated me and the result looked great! Thank you both.. read more

We were in town for a triathlon from Illinois when a city bus hit our parked car and left our bumper hanging on by a thread (1 clip). Even though they were booked solid for over a month I was able to talk to the staff about our problem and they we needed to get home with the vehicle and Jeff (general manager) personally helped us out by temporarily attaching our bumper allowing us to get to the triathlon and get home safely. The Gerber Boulder Team is outstanding!!! I brought my Infiniti Q70 (10.5 years old) for insurance-covered paint and parts work. They were super-busy; so I had to wait a couple of weeks to get on their schedule. My insurance adjuster had outlined a bunch of paintwork on the hood, fenders and bumper, plus replacement of the windshield, grill and other minor items. Jeff, the Boulder manager, didn't agree with all the work items and negotiated with my insurance company to do things a better way, to my benefit. When I picked up the vehicle, the front end looked like it did ten years ago. Unfortunately, after I got home, I realized the rain sensor, built into the new windshield, did not work. It had been replaced by a third party, because they had the only Infiniti OEM windshield on hand. Eventually, Jeff and Luis, the assistant manager, drove 30 miles to my house to pick up the car, drop it off with the third-party vendor, recover the car and drove another 60-mile roundtrip to bring it back to me...with a working rain sensor. Now, that's service above and beyond to guarantee my total satisfaction. I highly recommend them, but warn you that it takes time to do a top-quality job. read more

The least professional repair shop I have ever been to. The only person that I would deal with again is Luis, he was not a part of any of my issues. First of all, when I went in to get my vehicle appraised for damage and cost it was fine, no problems dealing with Luis to get an estimate. After the estimate, Michaela was nowhere to be found. So Luis told me I could wait for her or head out and when she gets back she'll give me a call to schedule the time to get my repairs done, he said shouldn't be a problem to get in by September. So I go home and wait for a phone call. I don't get one. I don't get a call the rest of the week and by time I call them to get my repairs, they can't get me in until mid-October. Ok, so benefit of the doubt, maybe my file got swept up in others because they are sooo busy. Get my truck in finally and while I am there waiting for my rental car to show up, the manager (maybe, he seemed to have authority and a booming voice) comes in and says "Hey, your truck should only take 2 hours, do you think you can get back and return your rental today? It'll make our reviews look so much better!" That was absolutely the least professional thing I have ever heard from any manager of any service ever. Absolutely despicable. If you want good reviews, do your job right. I also had something stolen out of my vehicle from the time I dropped it off and picked it up. My vehicle should have only been out in their lot for 20 minutes. Tops. And the repairs were not being done to the interior, so no reason to rummage around in the secret compartments of my vehicle. The manager basically said "tough luck" which is fair. They say remove your valuables, but to even have a question of an employee being a thief and to do nothing about it is absurd. Thanks for nothing. Update: Just read the comment that was left after a PM from the same woman asking the same thing. I gave her my contact info and have not received any calls or messages from anyone looking to hear about this situation or talk to me. If I could give less than one star, I would. Update: Just received a call from customer care to basically reiterate the same sentiment that the manager dissented. read more

I had been in an accident that kept my driver's side door from closing. I was worried that my car wouldn't be drivable, but the wonderful folks at Gerber were able to temporarily fix it so that I could drive it while my new door was on order. I was also very shaken up from the accident, and they were incredibly kind. They were able to get me onto their schedule super quickly, and when the parts arrived ahead of schedule, they even took my car in early. It was repaired quickly, the work was beautifully done, communication was awesome, and they worked seamlessly with my insurance company. Getting in an accident stinks, but I am really grateful that I took my car to Gerber. It was the best repair experience I could have hoped for. This place was literally so awesome. I came in without an appointment even though you need one for an estimate and they were still so helpful and found some space to squeeze me in really quick. Do NOT send your car to this location, or any Gerber locations. We took my car here for repairs because they assured us they had time for the repairs. It turns out that was incorrect and they did not have time to fix my car, so they had it sent to another Gerber location, which is NOT covered by my insurance, and did so without proper approval from the insurance company. The manager of the second location sent it back to the Boulder location. It turns out the Boulder location does not have time to even get me an estimate, and will have to send the car to another shop. When I called to speak with the manager of the Boulder location, it took hours to get ahold of him. When I explained the situation and asked how Gerber was going to resolve this and get to my car, he was very rude. He put me on speaker phone so his staff could laugh at the phone call, and continued to interrupt me. I am incredibly disappointed in this company. Gerber Collision and Glass is not a professional establishment, and I will not ever give them my business again. read more

You can learn a lot from seeing how thoroughly (or not) the shop technician examines the car, how completely (or not) they explain to you what they are seeing, how they speak to you (i.e., not talking down to you) and you can also tell a little bit if the shop works as a team. Gerber was absolutely the best of the four companies that I took my car to. Some were close, but Dylan was efficient, thorough, professional but very friendly and personable, patient with my questions, could describe the process from start to finish (hence the teamwork element) and gave me confidence that my vehicle would be in good hands. Everyone I interacted with - front desk, gentleman who drove my car out to me when it was finished - they all were friendly, efficient, welcoming and just all around a pleasure to work with. Can I give it 50 stars? oK so initially I was a little put off by the LONG wait time but now I know why. This place is seriously awesome. Every member of their team was kind, courteous and mostly competent. From the initial estimate to the timely paperwork for my insurance company to today when I picked up my car everything was easy. And OMG my car! It's 10 years old. A gorgeous little red mini cooper. The body work, the detail work, and the cleaning and waxing. I am still a little speechless. I paid over $50 at The Puddle for a detailing and it didn't hold a candle to Jeff's workmanship. My car, inside and out looked almost brand new again. I know I'm gushing but I don't know what else to do right now. The inside of my car hasn't been this beautiful since, well I can't remember since when! and the outside is so amazing. The sport stripes that had faded over time are totally restored. I'd like to say a word (or ten) about Jeff. He is filled with pride and joy and obviously loves his job. How lucky am I that because of some cutbacks I was lucky enough to have my car detailed by the grand master! He is an employee that is worth whatever it takes to keep. Customers know when they are in the presence of someone who loves what they do. HE loves what he does and I am the lucky recipient. I will HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone needed any kind of auto body work. I feel like I hit the body shop lottery. The manager, Jeff, and the staff (Michaela, Luis, Jacob) at Gerber did an excellent job of repairing 2014 BMW 435i (Looks like new!), which was damaged in a minor fender-bender. Like the rest of auto body shops in Boulder, they are extremely busy, but they got me in and out quickly and efficiently, were always very friendly and courteous, and did a very high quality job. You know what my least favorite thing to do on a Saturday is? Spend 2 hours driving to a body shop who called on Thursday to say you're car would be done on Friday. Arranging with the insurance company an extra day for a rental because they close Friday before you get off work. (3 calls on Friday) Then on Saturday, to pack up your toddler, to drive 2 hours to find out "a 3rd party vendor made a mistake" and no one bothered to call you!!! I was like are you kidding me! They then claimed they sent an email, an email, not a phone call, I never got and they had no phone number for me. Then how did you call me on Thursday to let me know my car was ready. Furious right now, exactly how can I have 1/2 my Saturday (2 hours each way) back? + The wasted time Friday making all those calls? Oh right I can't.... read more

Worst insurance claim ever! Where do I start? My insurance company recommended them as they would guarantee the work. Had to wait almost two months for an estimate because they were "overbooked". I showed up at scheduled time, waited 45min and then was told by the receptionist that Luis "the gentleman who does estimates" was at lunch and would "hope to be back soon"...20 min later the receptionist did the estimate. (Not off to a good start). A week later I brought my vehicle in to have it painted. Luis the "estimator" greeted me an hour and half late from my scheduled appointment and I was then thoroughly informed about the work they would "not perform on my vehicle".... (Cool, just paint the bumper like my insurance company has instructed you to do) Sheesh!! Louis "the estimator" assures me it will be done by Friday.... FORWARD TO 5 Days Later: Tuesday rolls around and I have to call Gerber to find out the status of my vehicle even though I was assured they'd keep me up to date on the work that was being performed. The secretary (Who did the Estimate) assures me it's "almost done, just let me get in contact with Luis" So....Late Tuesday evening I arrive to pick up my vehicle only to find out they've lost the paperwork for my claim and that Im now going to have to pay my deductible in order to get my vehicle back. Soooo...I Payed the deductible even though a direct call from insurance company told Gerber that the payment has already been cashed weeks in advance and that they need to release my vehicle. So, after all of the BS I get in my vehicle back only to find out that my Broncos stocking cap and other property have been taken from my vehicle, AND!!...On further inspection of the work was improperly done!! Oof, not enough bad things to say about this place- specifically Jeff. We had a deer collision a few years ago and the side door needed to be replaced. We were moving to Telluride at the time (over 7 hours away) and were hoping they would get the door fixed before we did the move. Nope! Not even close! We had to come up MANY times to have the door worked on and they just couldn't figure it out. Thankfully my husband and I were able to stay with a friend when we had to come up to deal with getting his car fixed time after time, but long extended stays over the next few months disrupted our lives significantly. On top of it, the door was never fixed after many, many attempts and the manager had the nerve to YELL at me when I questioned him about it being the door striker. For some background- my family started one of the first automotive car parts company in the country and is still in the business, so I know my fair share of stuff when it comes to car parts, but he treated me like some dumb woman who knew nothing about cars. Also, I was so fed up with their ineptness, I took the car to the Toyota dealership a few times to see if things could be properly fixed and they also were assuming it had to be the striker and gave me information to bring back to them. When asked about it, he screamed at me asking if I even knew what the door striker was! What professional acts like that? I was completely appalled and so frustrated we had to continue to deal with him for a while. Unfortunately, that's where insurance was sending us, and we had no local options close to us in Telluride. The last time we were up in town having it "fixed" for a while he handed us $100 bucks for all of our trouble. Thanks a lot? Then the pandemic hit and we were stuck down there in Telluride for a while unable to have it worked on and unable to make the trek back up to Boulder with no place to stay anymore. Now we are back living in Boulder and the damn door STILL doesn't work. The locks open and shut on it daily while driving (which we had told them at Gerber that's what it had always been doing since they started their work on the car). This poses a huge problem because our car has now been broken into so many times. Living in the middle of no where in a mountain town it wasn't an issue, but back in Boulder with all of the car theft issues, I'm woken up in the middle of the night all of the time with someone breaking into, or trying to break into, our car. Anyway, my husband and I both living here for 20 and 35 years respectively we know a ton of local businesses owners with large fleets of vehicles and tons of people in the community, and always make sure to steer them away from this place. In all fairness, Jeff seemed decently nice at first but his behavior towards me was completely unacceptable. If we hadn't been sent there through insurance and were paying out of pocket, you can guarantee I would have called in a complaint against him. read more

My car had gotten damaged from a hit and run from someone and I had to take it in for repairs. Gerber was the nearest collision shop so I decided to give it a try. I found them to be very professional and friendly. Working with Michaela and Greg they thoroughly explained all the details and spent time walking around the car to make sure there weren't any extra issues. Gerber offers text notifications on the updates to the repair, which is handy. My scheduled finish was a week from when I had brought it in. Fortunately, they had gotten the car fixed within 3 days with a nice interior/exterior clean. Overall, they were fair and honest. read more

I had been to other body shops that tried to push me into extensive repairs because they viewed me as nothing more than an insurance check walking through the door. It's refreshing to find a place that actually listens to their customers. I told the manager, Jeff, that I really didn't want to have to file a claim if I could avoid it, so he and his team helped me get out of there with a repair I was happy with and could easily pay out of pocket. My husband's company car had a slight ding in the door, so small we almost didn't get it fixed. Gerber said it would take 2 days to fix but then after they started the work they had their paint guy quit. They ended up taking FOUR WEEKS. It was frustrating and extremely inconvenient. The rental car we needed ended up costing over $800, luckily we didn't have to pay for it, but we don't know whether Gerber did or my husband's employer. Either way just the delay was unacceptable. We will never bring a car here again. read more

I usually never bother to write a review unless it is REALLY good or, like in this case, REALLY bad. My car was in a minor accident. A passenger door needed to be replaced as well as hubcab on the same side. Insurance covered everything fully. After 10 days in the shop we were called that the car was ready. woohoo, I thought! Not so fast... The inside of the replaced door started quite literally fall apart right away while the door was getting stuck and would not open. I called them and they told me to bring the car in. Turned out they did not clip the inside part of the door properly. So after this additional trip to them the car was now REALLY ready to go. Or so I thought. The inside of the door started to fall apart AGAIN the very next day. Calling them back and once again being asked to bring the car in...AGAIN. Go there and I guess the clips were still not done correctly. So they fixed it once again. Over all they behaved like this is just normal part of the deal. Fine, NOW the car if really ready, right? Wrong! I so did not expect them to miss a PAID piece of job that I never really looked too carefully at the hubcab; I just assumed it was fixed since this part of the job was fully paid for. With two little kids I usually am always rushing somewhere, so it took me sometime to notice that they FORGOT to replace the hubcab!! (to be more exact, it is my 7yo daughter who noticed it first: "Mom look, they STILL did not fix that!". Calling the insurance company, they confirmed that this part of the job was fully paid for. Calling Gerber and again with impression like this is normal they tell me to bring the car in AGAIN. Are you kidding me?! How is it possible to miss a paid part of the job?! At this point I was already past anger and frustration, I felt like a part of a comedy movie, where they assured me that the new door would be at least as good as my old one, yet it started falling apart and getting stuck the next day after I picked up the car. Continuing falling apart after an additional trip to them. And then turned out that a part of the job was never done at all. Unbelievable! I've never had such a lousy experience. The woman who runs it, Angela, was always nice and that is the only reason I rated it as two stars, not one. Other than that, maybe women shouldn't run car repair places!.. (and that comes from a woman who very much believes in female power, being a passionate advance martial artist and kicking guy's butts on a regular basis. But I feel like this particular car repair place turned me into a sexist and a firm believer that there are some areas and fields that women need to stay away from). Never again. read more

This company is great! I stopped by unannounced for an estimate (on a very busy day) and they took time to have a look. The GM, Ed Keezer, then suggested that they could go ahead and fix the problem on the spot! Not only did that get done in 10 minutes, but they refused to charge me. The previous estimate for the same thing from Abra, down the street (after being turned down the first time for an estimate), was for $1,300 and that's after they said "it can't be fixed... it all had to be replaced." I now have had two experiences with Gerber Collision in the past 6 months and both were excellent. The first visit was to repair hail damage and they did a great job (there was no evidence of damage and the car was spotless inside and out at pick-up). The second visit was a last minute drop-by and Jeff, the manager, was able to fit the repair in that day much to my appreciation. That he was able to turn the repair around same-day by doing it himself over lunch went above and beyond my expectations. Overall, I was very happy with my experience and will be back should I need future repairs (though, hopefully, not too soon). read more

I stopped there to see if they could perform scratch repairs on my scuffed bumper (Jeep Grand Cherokee). The manager, instead of quoting me $800 and telling me there is a 2 month waitlist for work, that if I could buy the paint from the dealer, he would help me do a very neat repair at NO cost. Today, I returned after waiting 3 weeks for the paint (from the Jeep dealer) and the manager did a beautiful job for me. Free! I tried to contribute to his employee holiday party, etc., but he declined any payment. Unbelievably wonderful customer service. And while I waited, the office lady was doing a superb job on phone and walk-in inquiries. Wow! read more

This is fantastic auto body shop to go to. I went to 5 other shops within 20 miles shopping for an estimate and received the best estimate with Gerber Collision. Once I dropped off my vehicle I was notified if not daily every other day on the status of my repair via a phone call or email. From parts on order to parts arrived. It was great to have that constant open communication not to mention the great updates. The shop is clean and the staff are friendly and great to work with. The first person I encountered was GM Ed Keezer and pretty much the rest is history, this guy took care of everything. Absolutely the best service around. read more

SUMMARY: I will not use Gerber again. I will not recommend Gerber. I will recommend and use ABRA which is just down the street. ABRA Auto Body 4725 Sterling Dr, Boulder, CO 80301 (303) 443-8889 Let's start at the estimate. It said my car would need to be here for 13 days to repair it. Okay that's fine. I call up (after all my parts had been ordered and arrived) to schedule a day to bring my car in. I am a VERY busy college student (Aerospace Engineering major at CU), with my most busy days being at the beginning of the week. Friday, however, I only have one class in the morning. Silly me, I asked to bring my car in on a Friday. I was told by Kim (receptionist?) that that would not work because that would mean that my car would have to be there for two weekends and that the insurance company really frowned upon that (however, when I had my car repaired by ABRA, which is just down the street, a few months ago, they had no issue with me dropping it off on a Friday). I asked about Thursday. Kim said that wouldn't work either. Kim then told me that the only days I could bring my car in were Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday (of any week). Well, I really don't have any free time on any of these days until about December but I reluctantly scheduled to bring it in on a Wednesday morning before class. Slightly annoying but whatever, I'll make it work. Then, not even a week later I get a call and e-mail saying the car is done and I can pick it up. Cool. I show up on a Tuesday afternoon (the day I am writing this review). We go out to the car and the hubcaps were not replaced. Not a big deal; it's not critical to the car working but the estimate said they would be replaced. Naturally I questioned them about it. They said since the current hubcaps weren't stock hubcaps that they didn't replace it because it wouldn't have matched the other ones. Okay. They offered to go to the auto store and buy hubcaps for me (they're cheaper there than what Nissan charges for 1 hubcap) and that I could come back and they would replace them really quick. Then I get in my car and before driving off I need to adjust the seat and various mirrors. The electronics controlling the mirror on the side of the car that Gerber had been working on (right side) didn't work. I was pretty annoyed at this point and had recognized how disorganized Gerber was, so I decided to just let it be because I'm really sick of dealing with getting my car fixed. I can still adjust the mirror with my hand. The marketing rep. that I had talked to when I picked my car up called me about 15 minutes after I drove away to ask what size my wheels were (for the hubcaps) and I informed her over the phone that this electronic component to control the mirror was not working. She said that they would fix it when I brought my car in to replace the hubcaps. So now I'm inconvenienced again, I have to bring my car there again, when it all should have been fixed when I brought it in the first time. Maybe instead of rushing to get things done, you should take your time to make sure that everything on the car that needed to be fixed, was fixed. The estimate said it would need 13 days. They told me it was done when my car wasn't even there a week, but it wasn't even fixed properly. On the other hand, Enterprise was wonderful. They provided my rental for both repairs and I have not had any problems with them. If you can, get Megan, she is really nice :) Conclusion: I will not use Gerber again. I will not recommend Gerber. I will recommend and use ABRA which is just down the street. read more

Being a automotive painter apprentice years ago, I am always reserved and worried to bring my car with a difficult color match in to a new shop. I was greeting warmly and kept up to date on the timely repair. There were a few imperfections in the work, but after pointing them out, the head painter comped my second visit and offered extra services as consolation. Although I had to bring my car back once, it wasn't an inconvenience and the work was timely and ultimately, perfect. I am satisfied. read more

My husband's car was pretty messed up from an accident and we had used Gerber in the past. We specifically asked our insurance to connect us with Gerber again - we remember the last time we used them they had been very good with communication - from calling when parts arrived, texting pictures of our car being worked on and staying on top of everything we needed. And we weren't disappointed! We were quoted to have the car done on a specific date (would've been almost three weeks of work) and were pleasantly surprised to find it was finished an entire week early. However, there was a snow storm that day and my husband was out of town. So I had to worry about dealing with returning a rental car, driving in the snow back to Gerber ALL with an 18-month old and a car seat! How frustrating, right? Wrong! Gerber offered to return the rental car for me and they even moved my car seat from the rental to our newly fixed car. I walked into the shop and the gal was super sweet, she offered tissue for my kiddo's nose and had the car wiped off of snow and ice and warmed up for me and my son. She and another tech moved all of my personal items from the rental car to this one too! This car business could've been a TON worse, but instead it was an amazing experience and we would defintely recommend Gerber Collision to our family and friends - and Yelp readers! read more
