Most recently, the owner came out with one of his technicians, was friendly and professional, and explained everything clearly without trying to upsell or pressure us. Pricing is fair and upfront. What really stands out is their honesty -- they spent several hours working on an issue, and when it turned out they couldn't fully resolve the problem, they didn't charge us anything. They apologized and even recommended another company that can help. Everyone we dealt with, including the techs and the office staff, were polite and easy to work with. And since you keep blaming AHS in other reviews it was not a claim denial or anything of the sort. We contacted several other plumbers near us and all said they'd send someone tonight and have the new heater in tomorrow. I have a home warranty with American home shield and they dispatched Colorado first plumbing. The first visit the tech fixed the leaking faucet but then it continued so they had to come out and replace the whole faucet. When they did this we called them back out saying we found a puddle under our sink which caused more water damage to our cabinet. The tech came out and said I don't know why it is leaking but I can't find the leak. A few days later I check under the sink and it is still leaking. I sent them pictures and they are stating the pipe is old so that's why it is leaking. But it wasn't leaking prior to them replacing our faucet. We have more damage to our cabinet than what was there from the first leak. They then tried charging me to fix the issue they made. They were not very kind when I was disagreeing with them. I let the home warranty and the tech know that was some damage to the cabinet but it has gotten worse. read more

Everyone was booked or not answering their phones and these guys answered my first try! They were able to accommodate my needs within 24 hours, which can be a bit of a pain dealing with plumbers! I am shocked by the negative reviews. I had a really great experience working with Colorado First Plumbing and Sewer. I bought a new-to-me house about 9 months ago, and after our first winter we've had some issues related to plumbing. When I turned the sprinkler water line back on the backflow preventer started shooting into the sky like a geyser, which isn't what you want to see. I submitted a request through AHS to find out it isn't covered, which is fine. The plumber who came out did a great job giving us a reasonable quote and then getting the parts once we agreed to the job. The price seemed competitive since plumbing can be so expensive too. He was personable and efficient. I truly appreciated the work he did. He explained why the piping needed to be diverted too since it seemed the previous homeowners had done something that led to the inevitable pipe freeze. I felt like these plumbers were so professional and helpful in explaining more about how to take care of the backflow preventer in the future and why they did the repairs a certain way. They even fielded some questions from my S.O. who wants to know more about home maintenance. I would definitely add Colorado First to my virtual Rolodex of home maintenance providers. read more

Absolutely the WORST customer service I've experienced. We had a leak under our sink that has been slow so the first time they came out they weren't able to find anything. I called back to have them come look at it again because we've continued to find water under our sink. Michelle was extremely unprofessional, hung up on me multiple times, and would not come back out without me placing another ticket through AHS. I have just had the worst experience I have ever had with a service provider and I have experienced a lot since I was a property manager. I have waited for over three weeks for them to come back out and fix my water heater. ( I have AHS so I didn't really have a choice who came) I waited all day for them to show up and I tried several times to contact them (They already reported they completed the work to AHS so they could get paid when they hadn't even come to the appointment) They told me I could have a discount and they would do the non-covered stuff (do I really need these things? I didn't before just 8 yrs ago) for only $2000 cash. When they finally showed up at 4pm so they wasted my whole day, the owner Cody was rude. When I like other clients started asking questions like why are you charging me $200 for wood in the way access (which there isn't) he got ruder and when I told him I would not be paying $2000 in cash he became very rude almost hostile demanding 50% payment before he even started any work. I went on to say I didn't even get an invoice from them until this morning and never got anything from AHS telling me what I was supposed to be paying. His rudeness continued, he called AHS to try to prove they sent me documentation and I knew about the charges and I didn't want to pay them. I hadn't received any itemized statements from AHS just emails saying the service was completed and how was my service. He kept telling the AHS representative that I was refusing to pay my non-covered services which I never said and I called him out on that. He didn't like that. We both agreed it would be best that he leave my house because I didn't want him in my house any longer. I called AHS immediately to have them reassign my service to another provider. They needed to call them to verify they didn't do any work but surprise no one answered the phone. Now AHS needed to get their money back from this jerk so I can get it fixed from someone else. He also replaced an aging toilet connector hose (I already had the part). This was done through my home warranty company. I was amazed how easy the whole process went. I had a very poor experience with Colorado First Plumbing and Sewer. I have a home warranty through American Home Shield, and my 25 year old toilet developed a hairline crack, which caused a leak. The technician dispatched did not find the hairline crack on his first visit, which resulted in the leak continuing and causing additional damage to my ceiling. Then, when they came back out, they said that the hairline crack was not caused by normal wear and tear, even though it was a small hairline crack on a 25 year old toilet. So, because they said it was my fault that the toilet had developed a crack, my "gold level" home warranty plan did not cover my toilet. They did not specify what I did wrong, only that the damage "was not caused by normal wear and tear." So I had to pay $125 to have them come out and misdiagnose my issue, causing additional damage, and then it took them close to a week after the second visit before I was finally informed that the toilet damage was not caused by normal wear and tear, and that I would be responsible to pay $550 to Colorado First Plumbing and Sewer to install a new toilet. Even though my home warranty should have covered 100% of the replacement. I called to speak to Tony and he gave me a ridiculous analogy that my toilet was like a Model T. He said if you keep a Model T in the garage and never use it, then it will last forever. And my toilet should also last forever, apparently. But since we actually used my toilet and sat on it, then apparently I was not caring for it properly. Go figure! This company took very poor care of me, and I will steer clear of them moving forward. read more

I had an older toilet that while I had a dogsitter taking care of my dog/home plunged and caused the wood floors on the other side of my bathroom to be ruined. My home warranty company assigned Colorado First Plumbing and Sewer to look at my problem since we'd eliminated all the other possible leaks that could cause the problem like my dishwasher in the kitchen. Immediately, Nick and his team confirmed the wax seal had a leak - did you know if the wax seal isn't bright yellow, it means there has been a leak? Mine was black. I decided to replace it with a low flow toilet so I could get the rebate of $100 from Denver Water (I live in Lakewood & I qualified, so check into it). Their whole team communicated well in ordering the one I wanted, showed up on time & just were great guys. They didn't try to upsell me with a sewer clean up, just scoped it & said it looked good. I wish I could rate this company and owner of the company a 0. I was treated so unbelievably poorly from the minute a brand new intern showed up for a plumbing leak. They not only DID NOT fix the problem, they couldn't even diagnose the problem. I had to have another contractor and plumber come over to say my water damage is most definitely caused by an ACTIVE water leak. The owner yelled at me on the phone and treated me like complete garbage. Stating his employee was 100% correct, even the owner never stepped foot in my house. Who treats their clients like this?? Someone else quoted us about $2K for a water backup issue, and (from what we learned later) it would not have solved the problem at all. Called CFP early Monday morning, Codee the owner picked up, and they got out there in just a few hours. They solved the problem at a small fraction of the cost and what the other co was going to do would actually not have helped at all.
