These folks have been my go-to plumber for several years now. Couldn't recommend them strongly enough. Hadn't made the time to write a review before, but last Friday night, our hot water heater sprung a leak. I called Saturday morning, they were able to fit us in that afternoon, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of, with as little trouble as possible. Their rates are more than reasonable, too. We had a new hot water heater less than 24 hours after the previous one died. (Of course I cannot promise that they'll be available when you need them, and they're a very small shop, but they *reliably* pick up and tell you when they can be there, and they mean it. I've had so many other plumbers just not even reply. Which is how I wound up being loyal to McComb!) Strongly recommended! read more

I keep seeing McComb plumbing's truck around the neighborhood and all I feel is dread for anyone who called them. They might be Ok at clearing a clogged drain, but do not hire them for any remodeling work. I had explicit, printed directions for a toilet install, and yet the rough-in was placed at the wrong location, TWICE. The tile then needed to be redone, TWICE to account for that mistake. Moving on to the shower/tub rough-in which needed to be finished before the tile guy came --well, no worries! McComb showed up on time, but whoops! they had to leave early because they made plans to leave on vacation without letting me know to reschedule, so I was left with a half-done job and my tile guy couldn't finish the job and so the remodel was pushed out an entire month. There was no mention of reimbursement for any of my costs to re-do the tilework of course. In fact, they wanted to be paid 3x for the toilet rough-in...totally selfish business, just Wow. read more

I have used McComb Plumbing twice and cannot recommend them highly enough! I have had a toilet water supply line burst which Pat quickly repaired for me. Dominic installed a shower head fixture. Their service is efficient, courteous and well done. I also have a leak (ah, the aging homes...) which I plan to have them look at and repair. If you need a reliable, knowledgeable plumbing service, look no further! I have used Applewood in the past and won't ever again. They charge too much. When I called because my house was flooding on a Sunday, they referred me to 411 so I could call the Fire Department to turn off my water. We've used McComb on two occasions - to install two bathroom sinks and to install three new toilets. They were very professional, quick, and affordable. I didn't realize that we needed a carpenter to install the sink cabinets in advance of Pat working his magic, but he referred us to a wonderful cabinet maker, and then was able to come out shortly after, so that there was very little time that we were without sinks in our bathroom! Fortunately, we haven't had any plumbing emergencies, but if we do, I know that I'll call the McComb team right away! read more

I couldn't be happier with McComb Plumbing. Specifically Pat and Loretta. Just an amazing experience. We had a drain pipe from the kitchen sink which needed replaced in the basement. I called on a Friday night, and Pat came on Saturday morning! He made quick work out of the repair, and even improved it by adding additional fall to the pipe, so it drains better. It was clear he knew what he was doing. Then he offered me guidance on caring for our aging water heater and a few other maintenance items. We had some PVC pipe break on Sunday morning of a holiday weekend and we were in need of a same day repair. Loretta answered the call! Pat came out within a couple of hours and had us repaired and as good as new. Both Loretta and Pat were extremely nice and professional. The cost for repairs was very reasonable. I will definitely call them again if we are in need of a great plumber! UPDATE: A couple of days later we had a toilet clog and they came right out same day to clean the drain line. We purchased a water heater through a silent auction at a fundraiser. Part of the agreement of the gift certificate was that installation was an additional cost. I called and scheduled my appointment for 10:00 AM and asked for a quote for installation. I was told it would be $350.00, a little high I thought but since that was the agreement so be it. I also verified they would remove and haul away our old water heater. On the scheduled day we spent time draining the water heater and removing doors etc to make the removal easier. At 10 AM no one arrived. I understand that things happen so I waited for a phone call or something. At 10:30 AM I called and the woman said "Oh, I'm sorry I forgot to call you". The morning appointment turned out to be for 2 water heaters rather than one so he is going to be 1 1/2 hours late, but he called me at 10 so I guess it will be another hour. At 11:30 AM, no one yet, at 11:45 I call again. The woman says" oh, I'm sorry I'll give him a call and call you right back." She calls me back and says it will be another hour. I explain that this is all very inconvenient and that I have another appointment and will need to make sure my husband can be home. She offers to reschedule for another day but I told her I've already drained the water heater and started to remove the connections and I don't want to not be able to take a shower the next day. I tell her to please call me as soon as he is one his way. I wait ANOTHER hour. It is now 12:30, 2 1/2 hours after my appointment was supposed to start. I call again, never once has anyone from the company initiated contact with me. When she answers, I say: "this is me again" and she says "I told you it would be another hour" I say " it HAS been an hour" she says "oh.... I'll call him again and see how much longer". At this point I have completely disconnect my water heater and hauled it outside to my back porch. I say "I need to talk about price, I am unwilling to pay $350 for an installation when I've already done 1/2 the work AND you are now almost 3 hours late". She says "we charge $350 install a water heater" and I say, "you have to be kidding me, I've already disconnected and removed the water heater", she says, "no one asked you to do that". I say, "I am not willing to pay $350 for this job" and she says, "I don't know what you expect me to say, it costs $350 and who would you get to install it anyway". I say "I can install It myself!" she says, "no you can't you'll blow up your house" and I say "that would be my problem". She says "the gift certificate specifically states that we must install the water heater". I say "fine keep your water heater" and I hang up on her. As my husband and I were discussing him going to get another water heater that we can install when I get home she called back. She said "he will be there in 2 hours to drop of the water heater. I say "fine" and hang up. By this time I am so angry and upset I think my head is going to explode. My husband and I decided if when the plumber arrived he was still willing to work with us we would pay him $150 to install it. Remember I had already completely removed the old one. I left for my appointment and my husband called after the water heater arrived. No apology, No explanation, No offer to give us a discount to install. He simply said, "I have a water heater for you, it's a good one". I can't even begin to imagine if this is how they treat someone who purchased something in support of a charity they obviously support and who they actually MET and SPOKE with at the event, I'd hate to think how they would treat someone who just called to schedule and appointment. read more

I called at 8am this morning with two frozen pipes and in need of immediate help. Loretta, on the phone, was extremely understanding and had someone come 15 MINUTES LATER to help us out. Although I was not home, my boyfriend was there with the person who was sent. He started the thaw machine and quickly found out that we had new pvc piping that didn't really allow the thawing machine to work with this type of plumbing. He gave us tips on how to deal with the cold weather, told us to calm down and wait for them to thaw and left NO CHARGE. This was unexpected and very courteous. Although my plumbing issues were not solved, to no one's fault but bad weather, I'll definitely be calling these guys to fix my bad-weather piping issue long-term when the weather gives us an opportunity to do so. read more
