Great little place with amazing drinks. I wanted to try the Very Berry Spritzer but they were out of the Berry, I asked them to substitute and they did. I sadly forget what they subbed in but all I know is that it was delicious. We also grabbed some Beef Bulgogi to share. It was a bit salty, but the beef was perfectly cooked and the rice was sticky and delicious. We've been back a few times to grab drinks after coming in and we continue to try and hit up the place when we're in the area, it's an A+ spot. read more

Calling all sake lovers and sake-curious folks... What an amazing idea amongst all the breweries out there! This place offers a variety of sake options, and if you have trouble deciding on which one to get like me, they have flights (with very generous pours!). Each sake we tried was distinct in its own way and the flavors were neither sickeningly sweet or artificial as I was afraid it would be. I also had the Lychee Chu-hi cocktail and was blown away. Refreshing and light with a citrusy hint - I loved it. FYI, you can order food and drinks at the same counter. Do yourself a favor and order the sushi! We tried the Flying South, Citrus & Sesame, and Meet the Temp. Everything was amazing, and the ingredients were so fresh. My boyfriend and I were tempted to order more, but figured we should save some room for dinner down the street at Hop Alley. Nothing like an excellent pre-dinner sushi to whet the appetite! Love this spot! The vibe is immaculate with such cool decorations like paper cranes and cherry blossom accents. I had a sake flight and enjoyed each one. My favorite was the cucumber mine, but I also enjoyed the original standard and the bees knees. They have a full menu of tapas and I tried the salmon-it was heavenly! I definitely want to come back for a full meal. And the best part is, it's dog friendly inside and out! So we plan to bring our pup back here too. Coming in, it was pretty busy because there was a comedy show happening in the back, but luckily me and my party were able to find a table. I ordered a flight of sake and chose: Horchata Nigori, Berry Basil, Lychee Nigori, and Blueberry Hibiscus. My favorite had to be the Lychee and the Horchata Nigori. The Berry Basil, may have been a little too much "basil-y" for me. My favorite part was the hanging origami pieces up on the ceiling. What I didn't know was that we were able to make some ourselves and hang it up! My friends and I were so excited and had such a fun time doing that. The decorations and the music made the atmosphere a really cute and fun place to come drink with some friends and/or have a date night. P.S. On top of that they offer Sushi, Dumplings, Ramen and more made in house as well as partnered with a comedy club in the back! DO NOT come here if you have a baby. There is no changing table in the bathroom & they will not give you a high chair even if you request it for your reservation. They do have booster chairs but my baby is too little.. however the food was great, drinks were great. I'd even have given a worse review as stated above, but the fact I was given a comped sake made up for the night mare that was changing my child in a bathroom... lol. Love sake, love sushi, love comedy. One of my go to spots when I have friends in from out of town. The sake is pretty pricey but I think it's worth it. The Sushi chefs aim to please and if you tell them what you want special for your roll they will do their best to make it for you. The mile high roll is unique and deliciously done and I get it every time I come here. Went to trivia here one night and my friends won. I say my friends because we did not win because of my trivia answers haha. But WE won some sake so that was pretty cool. I kept hearing about this sake place on Larimer, so while I was out in the Rino neighborhood last night I decided to stop in. The place is super cute and the perfect size for a tasting room. This is truly a hidden gem tucked away in an alley. It looks like you are walking through a freezer when you first walk in. They have several different flavors of sake to pick from. They had plain sake as well, but I wanted the crazy flavors. The other options were, horchata nigori, kiwi strawberry, blood orange and black cherry. Of course, I had to try them all, so went with the full pour sake flight. All of them were so fantastic but my favorite was the horchata flavored one. Loved that one so much. I never leave bad reviews but this was BY FAR the worst sushi I have ever had. Worse than grocery store sushi by a long shot. We got 5 different food items, rolls and appetizers and specials. I have had sushi hundreds of times, none of these food items were described to by spicy, none would be spicy anywhere else but each bite was so spicy it was truly not edible. 5 food items between 3 friends and we ate a bite of each item and left. 3 different servers asked if we were sure we didn't want to go boxes because the table was covered in food as we left, but it was a cruel torture to eat here. I had to literally spit an entire roll out into my napkin and try my hardest not to vomit. There is no reason any sushi should ever be this spicy, it felt like a cruel joke. $100 for a couple bites of torturous food. Don't be a masochist, don't eat here. read more

The tapas that they serve pair nicely with the sake. I haven't had one I've disliked yet -- the flavors are distinguishable yet subtle. My favorites are sake king, a classic, and green machine, a spicy, sparkly delight. Grapefruit jalapeño, lychee, and surprisingly cold brew are also great. AND there's sushi! I've gotten the ahi bowl a few times and love it. Fresh fish, plenty of delicious toppings on a huge bowl of rice. Sit outside on the small patio to enjoy your sake, and/or take some home (in bottles that look verrry similar to Voss water). I came here for brunch on their Dim Sum Weekends and everything was DELICIOUS! It has a cool laid back vibe and the employees were very nice. Back to the food.... I tried the takoyaki, orange chicken, and potato croquettes.... I loved all of it! Parking was a bit of a hassle, but It was a nice day and I didn't mind parking farther and walking a bit. Pro- we came by on a Saturday night without reservations and were able to find a spot on the front patio. While it was a little awkward to have a group of 6 sitting in a line, we made it work. My boyfriend and I did the virtual DIY Sushi Night through Colorado Sake Co and it was so much fun! The process was so easy. Since we live outside of Denver, we went and picked up our supply box from their tasting room. It comes with enough food for 8 rolls, a bamboo rolling mat, and 2 bottles of sake. The chef who taught the class was great too. I usually do not like sake at all but I really loved some of the more fruity fun flavors of Sake that they had to offer. Blueberry hibiscus was so good and the Raspberry Lavender was amazing! My boyfriend really likes the American Standard. Also, the tasting room was so cute! What a hidden gem! This place is tucked away on the farther, "less visited" side of RiNo. It totally deserves more love because the people are nice here. There's plenty of room to sit and grab a drink. They have a small selection of food. They have board games. They even have paper and instructions for you to try your hand at origami. Best of all it's a unique concept. Instead of flights of beer you get a flight of sake. It's not a traditional Japanese sake, so don't go in expecting that, but it is good and original. We had been here before when they were in the alley. Now they have expanded into a full proper space. They face Larimer right on the end corner by Downing. It is a really nice space. They have a good sized bar with 12 taps of sake. They also have two large tables for gathering and a large couch type seating along the wall perfect for smaller groups. We were warmly welcomed by Pascal and offered to try many of the sakes before we committed. They have such a wide variety you are sure to find something you will like. If you have never had sake, or even if you have, come check this place out. Our favorite of the night was the Chai which he warmed up for us. Oh my delicious! Colorado Sake was at the top of my list of places I wanted to visit while in Denver since I've never even heard of a sake distillery before, and it did not disappoint! We had a flight with the sparkling watermelon, vanilla chai (suuuper unique flavor and heavy on the chai), sangria, and strawberry mint (our favorite), and a side of spicy edamame. The sake was deliiiiicious and I wish we had flavored sake like that in my hometown, Vegas! The ambiance was very cute too with various origami hanging from the ceiling -- they even provide origami paper and a nifty stick thingy to hang up your work of art if you'd like. They had a larger food menu (hand rolls and other munchies) than I anticipated but we only had the edamame as we ate just before this.
