A couple of times we passed by this store, Colorés Mexicanos. We have been wanting to stop by. On Saturday the opportunity presented itself. When entering Colorés Mexicanos, we felt like we entered into a new world. The main mission of Colorés Mexican centered around preserving Mexican culture. The gazebo in the front featured little handmade pin dolls, earrings, headbands, mini sombreros and decorative pillows. As we walked towards the rear, we saw a pet section and a wide selection of felt stuffed animals and dolls. Aside from fun objects, Colorés Mexicanos offered home decorations. The decor centered around calendars, pictures of the Mexico's famed artist, Frida Kahlo, and piñatas. These definitely paved the way for conversational pieces. Near the staircase, we found beautiful and colorful clothing. So glad we visited Colorés Mexicanos. Such a wonderful store. Stop by and enjoy the Mexican culture.

This store is SO MUCH fun. It's bursting with color from the moment that you walk in- and even before that, as you're greeted by a giant statue of La Catrina. We visited during the Day of the Dead/Halloween season and the displays were incredible. There were tons of sugar skulls, dolls, figures of alebrijes, marigold petals, and items for ofrendas. There are shelves full of art, jewelry, pottery, stuffed animals, ornaments, fashion items, dolls, cocoa, and so much more. We ended up buying a tile painting, cocoa, and an alebrije figure..... But came back the next day for rings we regretted not getting. The cool thing is they tell you where the art was produced and about the families that made it. I will definitely be going back, and if you're looking for something different while on the Mag Mile, I highly recommend giving this store a look.

Walking down the street, this space screams out at you. It is colorful, bright and inviting. Definitely stop here. They have so many cool things to look at. They have clothes, shoes, jewelry, art, crafts, home goods, children's, pets, food. I ended up purchasing a handmade ring made out of beads. When I wore it to the rehearsal dinner, everyone was commenting on it. It was a statement piece and worth every penny. You are bound to walk out of here with something.

The cutest and most colorful store on magnificent mile. It was so fun to explore this two story shop on the most dreary weekend. So many fun things that made me miss visiting Mexico. Lots of cute tchotchkes from tapestries, ornaments, pompous, keychains, snacks, stickers, magnets, accessories, and more. There was the coolest alebrije sculpture on the second floor. Really enjoyed all of the fun and highly recommend stopping through if you're visiting! Worth supporting beautiful indigenous artwork. It's impossible not to smile and pick up something when you're here.

What an amazing find! I could have spent hours in here and it was two stories! Everything was hand crafted, nothing mass produced. Beautiful craftsmanship and joyful colors.

They have a lot of cute plush animals.

This is a really beautiful store! I saw so many things that I wanted. They have a wide variety of Mexican plushies, clothes, books, alebrijes, Day of The Dead items and pretty much anything else you could think of. I'm so glad this store exists. I'm in Wisconsin so it was quite a drive for us. But it was well worth it.

This cool statue is outside the store.

This is a really fun store! The colorful toys are beautiful. Then there are colorful pieces of clothing that are gorgeous to look at, so if you like wearing color, you should check these out. In the way back there are interesting candies that mostly have chiles in them. If you like hot sauces and stuff, there were plenty of things to try. We bought Mexican vanilla to bake with because it is really amazing --if you have never tried it, definitely try it! Many trinkets are here --keychains and bracelets and stuff. If you are looking for a very unique Swap gift, you can find things here. My son-in-laws friend loves the singer Bad Bunny and we got him a "saint candle" with Bad Bunny on it. There was also one with Cardi B on it. Very entertaining. I wish I could have transported the pottery back to Boston because there were some beautiful pieces. So much to choose from! Definitely check out this store.

Wow, what a beautiful store!! Found it randomly walking by and had to check it out. I'm so glad I did! This store is so vibrant and full of an assortment of handmade Mexican wares at various price points - I truly believe there is something for everyone here! My friends and I spent about 15-30 min in the store admiring the wares and trying to decide what to get as there were so many incredible options. I ended up opting for a bright embroidered headband and a candle. The candle is in this adorable handmade and handpainted mug with a lovely and fresh scent - la lluvia (the rain). As we were checking out, we learned more about where each item came from. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. The store has many items from home decor, clothing, jewelry, accessories, candies, books, children's books, toy, dinnerware, etc - the list goes on and on. Highly highly recommend visiting - I will certainly be back!

I plan on being back in the area later in the week and can't wait to check it out! As for lunch, or Sunday brunch, we started with a warm fresh baguette. I went with avocado toast for my meal, which hit the spot as it always does. I've had my share of avocado toasts in my lifetime and this was a good one. My daughter also really enjoyed her chicken flatbread. It was huge so when it first came out I thought she could have shared it with her friend, but she was super hungry and it was really tasty so she did a pretty good job eating it on her own. Service was fast and attentive and (again) my only regret is not getting to do more shopping...I'll be back!

The facility was clean, and our instructor, Tim, was great--knowledgeable and full of pro tips. Unfortunately, the experience after the class was disappointing. After paying $109 per person, we were surprised to find that we had to stand while eating the meal we had just prepared. We also were not allowed to take any leftovers home. We've attended several cooking classes in Chicago as well as other cities, and every one of them provided seating so guests could comfortably enjoy their meal, as well as take-home containers for leftovers. Not allowing guests to take food home seems unnecessarily wasteful. It's difficult not to wonder whether the leftovers simply end up being discarded or eaten by staff. For the price of the class, providing chairs and take-home containers seems like a reasonable expectation. While Tim and the quality of the instruction were excellent, these two policies significantly detracted from the overall experience. Unfortunately, because of these inconveniences, we won't be attending another Sur La Table cooking class.
