Visiting from Southern California, I love finding cute little coffee shops. I tend to find they generally have better quality and tasting coffee and espresso than the big brands. Colter Coffee Roasting is one of these cute little coffee shops! My latte was really great- definitely up there with the best I've had. The ambience is really nice in the shop, and they have plenty of places to sit and relax. My brother got one of the chai lattes and it was exceptional! Nice spot. Local and earthy. Decent coffee. Treats and various nummies to choose from. They have some local artists perform here occasionally and you can rent a spot to perform as well for those artists who are looking to play for a group or get some exposure. read more

Colter Coffee is what I look for in a coffee shop. There's a great atmosphere and I always feel welcome every time I walk in. It exudes a sense of community which is made even better by being located right on main street in the heart of Kalispell. All of their coffee is great from their drip coffee to lattes. I work at a local cafe and we serve Colter Coffee drip roast and we always get compliments on how good the coffee is! I come here to do school work and work work often and it's my favorite place to work besides my own desk at home. I'll continue to be a loyal member! read more

I wish I could say we had the good experience that Andrea V did. A few weeks ago we had visitors from out of town and walking through town we decided to stop for a coffee. There were 7 of us in total. NOTHNG wrong with the coffee, BUT the woman that waited on us was rude, abrupt, no smile, NOTHING. We all commented on it, but agreed that she was having a bad day. So today I went there again. One man was making a drink for another customer and I was the only person waiting at the counter. The same woman that we had previously encountered was wiping down the tops behind the counter. three different ones. She completely ignored me, did not even have the courtesy to say "I will be with you in a minute" . When she finally got to me she had that same rude, abrupt , unsmiling attitude. I have always found people in coffee shops pleasant, fun and make you feel welcome wherever I have been in this country or overseas. We always believe in giving places a second chance, but there is no third chance. I have NEVER met such a rude person in a coffee shop or restaurant. I have been told this woman is actually the Manager. Sorry to the owners of the shop as I do like your coffee, but what should be a happy experience is ruined by this woman's attitude. read more

Coffee is tasty but employees could be a tad warmer and engaging. I've come in numerous times when I'm not even greeted or acknowledged until I place my order. (not because there's a line of customers, that I'd understand) Not every employee is this way of course, just has happened on different occasions. We stopped in to this little shop hoping for a decent cup of coffee and we were very pleased with our experience. The London Fog exceeded expectations and the coffee was delicious. Colter coffee shop is located in the cute, growing downtown kalispell. I always enjoy a walk on main street with a cup of coffee in my hand. Their green chai latte is my favorite! The location is convenient with parking on the side of the building. You can also sit outside and enjoy a nice day, with locals (familiar faces) driving by. It's a place where i can have business appointments as well because of their quiet room that they have in the back, or catch up with some old pals over coffee. read more

I have come here several times and I enjoy the coffee art they do. Today however, I asked for an iced americano which was overcharged in my opinion compared to every other coffee shop in town that makes americanos. One of the workers suggested a certain flavor to try and I agreed but when I tried the drink, it tasted like medicine cough drops. I asked the guy if he would change it for me and he said no, he would have to charge me for a whole new one. I was actually shocked, I have barely ever asked for anyone to change something for me and he was being rude about it too. I gave him back my drink and he didn't give me money back for it or make me a new one. Will not be coming back here again. There are way better places for coffee in town than this. read more

For around a year and a half, Colter's Coffee truly has been an amazing coffee shop environment for me. Not only are their drinks quality (as opposed to Starbucks), but so are the employees. I'm always met with friendliness and personality every time I visit colter's coffee, and in the Kalispell area, there isn't another place I would go for coffee. 8/8 m8! read more

First off, I love Colter Coffee, I love the vibe, I love the people, but mostly I love the coffee. During the school year, I frequent there just about everyday. For the most part, the baristas are knowledgable, skilled and over all friendly people who can pull a mad shot of espresso. Unfortunately, the store manager is a different story. She is rude, un-inviting, and short tempered. She also seems to have acquired a knack for hiring baristas with little to no knowledge of coffee basics. Such as roast profiles of whole bean blends they sell, third wave brewing methods, or even espresso basics. My suggestion, avoid the store manger, and if you want truly amazing espresso or answers to roasting questions, or third wave brewing questions, ask for Pete. Hopefully Colters will start hiring true baristas again and the store manger will un-bunch her panties. read more

I would have give this place 5 stars for the last 3 years I have lived here. I would tell everyone to go here! This use to be my favorite coffee shop. They roast their own beans! You went in and everyone knew your name and you knew the employee's names also! The baristas could all make a excellent latte! You could sit in there and fill welcomed. Since they changed management this summer, the staff is cold, the atmosphere is cold. The last draw was when I told someone to go there instead of Starbucks. She admitted the coffee was good, but at least at Starbucks they at least pretend to want you there and are friendly. Colter you have done it! You changed everything and now your the place in town that needs a bumper sticker "Friends don't let friends go to Colter, because even Starbucks cares more about their clientele!" Your change in management and priorities, made you lose the employees that cared. When I first went in there I ken you didn't want to be like Starbucks, now I see your goal is to be worse than Starbucks! I would be wonderful if your quality of service and value of costumers returned! read more

This is a true neighborhood coffee bar. Space is ample yet intimate, the aroma is divine. Coffees are well made and service is friendly. Other drink choices are available and there is nice selection of pastries, biscotti and the like. There is complimentary wifi and lots of tables and counters for laptops. There is a room with couches in the back. Overall this is a destination coffee shop. read more
