House salad add fried chicken, ranch did come on the side but I had poured it before taking the pic
    Morgan C.

Let me preface this review with the fact that we know the difference in chain restaurants vs fine dining so if you're looking for a perfectly cooked steak and quiet atmosphere you're in the wrong place. We had a table of 4 at 5:15 pm on a Thursday after Christmas and were sat immediately with no wait. Our server was very attentive, refilling our drinks and bringing peanuts. She even brought us a basket FILLED with warm soft rolls and several containers of whipped butter. Even though we were 2 adults and 2 kids she made sure we had plenty of food. We had the kids split a chicken tender kids meal which had 2 large tenders and steak fries. Adult meals ordered was a house salad with ranch and fried chicken, and a ribeye steak with side salad and baked potato. The salads were good with crunchy croutons, however the steak that was ordered medium came out gray all the way through. It was still tender but it was as thin as a pancake which is not appropriate when a customer orders a ribeye and not worth the 26.99 price tag that came with it. It was more similar to a flank steak cut. Regardless we enjoyed the meal and service. Would have earned more stars if the steak was even close to what we expected, sadly it was far from.

Wait was just over 30 minutes for a table of 6. Wait for our food was almost an hour. Luckily there were peanuts to crack. We enjoy this steak house but the wait was longer than normal on a Friday night. Kids were hungry and our waitress was super at keeping our drinks full- she just didn't have control over the kitchen. Once our food came out it was great as expected. Out of the chicken fried steak VS chicken. We preferred the chicken fried chicken to the steak. Mashed potatoes and pepper gravy are real good. Kid friendly. Price: $$$ ( reasonable )

    A bug.

There was a dead bug in my mashed potatoes. And i ate part of it because I couldn't see it. I threw up. There was also a spider in my box and it crawled out on to me. The picture is of part of the bug.

When we came in we were told to just sit wherever and the waitress went and got our menus but then stopped by two chatty tables and just held them. We waited at least 10 minutes to even be able to look at a menu. We were saying, we wished she would just kindly tell them she'd be right back, hand us our menus and then go back and let them talk her ear off some more, instead of us just sitting there, without even being able to see what they had. When we finally did get our menus, we quickly saw that everything was super expensive. Two of us have a gluten allergy and the gluten free pizzas are $12 a piece for just cheese..... any added toppings are all $1 for each item..... if they were large enough to share, that would be fine but they're tiny. So, it would have already been $30 just for two small pizzas..... plus, having to order another meal for my husband. We were still going to just order the large nacho plate, hoping it would be big enough for us to share but the waitress took so long to get back to us, we decided to just leave. Let me say though, she was the only server there and had no help and she was nice and did not charge us for our one Dr. Pepper we ordered and water. I don't mean to say she wasn't doing the best she can because I do believe she was, it is not her fault that the management didn't schedule more staff. I've heard good things about this place. Maybe we will come back and try the nachos one day.

The server was extremely friendly throughout the entire meal. There is quite a selection to choose from but it isn't overwhelming. I settled on the Hay Stack because I wanted biscuits and gravy and eggs. I would have preferred something besides sausage, but I didn't ask about a substitution. (Suggestion: Think about making this customizable on the menu with meat and potato options. I would love to have done this with ham and home fries instead of sausage and hash browns.) I also ordered a side of grits. While not an issue for me since I can season my food myself, I did end up adding salt to both dishes and pepper to the grits. The inside of the building is very cozy and the place was full of locals when I arrived. It stayed busy through my time there. There were specials on the menu board as well. Overall, this was a good place with good food and excellent service, and I have no reservations about recommending this business if you are looking for a breakfast nook in Mountain Home.

Hubby said biscuit n gravy were A+! Server was friendly and efficient. She followed up a couple of times, to make sure everything was ok. The restaurant was quiet, even though there were about 15 patrons present. It was very clean---including the restroom. Great experience. We'll be back!

Pretty straight forward in letting us know free samples were offered and showed waffle cones. Scoops were generous. [Ice Cream] wow! Definitely can taste they use a homemade premium cream base, not a singular taste of any ice. Almost custard like because it was so rich. I tried banana pudding (very banana but the fresh natural kind) and root beer float (tasted exactly like the name!!). I got German chocolate cake (vegan & gluten free) and Chocolate Chunk Brownie. My friends got vanilla and peanut butter fudge with caramel. We all Kept going back for more. German chocolate cake was one of the maybe three vegan options. It was very decadent and honestly I have no idea how this was vegan. It was as rich and creamy as the non vegan ones. Happily not icey at all!! Unlike other vegan ice creams. There was a quite a bit of coconut shavings in each bite. Definitely an amazing vegan chocolate flavor - vegan ice cream makers need to take note! Chocolate Chunk Brownie was extremely rich. It said it had brownie chunks and chocolate chips. However, after getting 2 servings of it - there was no brownie in sight. Which disappointed me along with I wish it was a more deep chocolate taste. Vanilla was definitely rich and creamy. Waffle cone was sweeter than others. I think they added extra vanilla - absolutely one of the best waffle cones I ever had! [seating and shoppe] outdoor seating that was shady in the eving perfect for a summer evening. Interior had seating and paper towel rolls. Beautiful bright colors inside. [overall] definitely a rich creamy homemade base to the ice cream flavors. I went back for seconds!
