Love Texas Roadhouse? You'll likely enjoy Colton's as much or more. After a day of GPS induced adventures (seriously though HOW did it decide to send us on some of these roads???) we missed lunch so were famished by the time we got to our hotel and then this steakhouse. I almost took us to Chili's based on the star count. That would have been sad! Our shared order was for a "Texas Salad" topped with a grilled to order sirloin, a side of sweet potato fries and just water for our dehydrated selves. While waiting for that order, they started us with a bucket of peanuts followed quickly with four yeast dinner rolls with butter and "honey" (not real honey by my taste) in a syrup jar. Bottom line; we ate way too much but except for the rolls and syrup it couldn't have been better. The sirloin was as a perfect medium rare, seasoned nicely and really went perfectly with the salad. Sadly, we had eaten most of the meal by the time I thought about pictures. Mea Culpa. Along with all the above, Allison took care of us well. I came in on a Tuesday evening for dinner. The service was very good, prompt and courteous. The location has a vintage steakhouse joint vibe going on. Parking was plentiful and easy. I ordered Honey BBQ boneless wings for an appetizer. 10oz sirloin with steamed vegetables and a side salad. The food was brought out quickly. There was a complimentary basket of dinner rolls that were delicious. Warm soft and a sweet flavor. The wings were very good. A good size per wing and in portion. The salad was a standard side salad. It's a nice restaurant that I can bring folks for a business lunch or just a casual lunch on my own or with friends. The cost is reasonable portions are generous, and the prices are a good value. Visiting family out in Arkansas and was taken to this place. We enjoyed the fun, casual atmosphere and abundance of appetizer choices - and of course the steaks! The service was not perfect (sometimes it felt like the server wasn't really paying attention, and got a few minor details wrong, but that's OK) - not enough to lose a star over. For years I've gone to Colton's & never had a complaint. I'm not sure if it's new management or what, but quality of service is slipping. It has always been that when your steak arrives they ask you to cut into it to make sure it's how you ordered it. Not the case now. We've enjoyed our Colton's for nearly 10 years - every Sunday. Last couple of years the lettuce became a problem and our table would request "no brown lettuce" when ordering. Over the last year food quality has continued to decline (tough steak, rubber chicken). Most recently there was a hair in my salmon plate, visible to everyone. We sent it back and it was replaced. We would have refused but an OFFER of a discount would have been nice but we were billed full price. Bad form, bad business and the last straw for me. We're moving onto Chili's for Sunday meals at least until Colton's comes back to the quality it once had. read more

Took forever to get seared when we were the only ones in line. Took 10 minutes for a waitress to show up. Got drinks(slow) and no bread. Had to ask for it. Then one was raw in the middle. People that arrived after us got their meals ahead of us. Got my salad with wrong dressing. Got chicken fried chicken and didn't bring gravy that comes with it. In the mood for something substantial, I found Colton's which was right across the highway from my hotel. I was quickly seated, served my drink and ordered. Rolls came out about the same time as my salad. The rest of my food came out quickly. My steak was cooked just right. We were traveling and in search of some non-fast food options. I'd stopped in here years ago and found the place okay, so we dropped in with our grandkids before heading on north to Fayetteville. There was a light crowd, several staff but our server seemed a bit maxed out on tables and took a while to get to us, she was pleasant and helpful. We placed our order: Bread and Butter prior to the meal - good Peanuts - seemed stale and soggy Kids Burger/Fries-good Kids Sirloin tips/mashed potatoes Salad with Sirloin tips - not good 9oz Sirloin + side salad with ranch + baked potato - not good My side salad was definitely straight from the bag, dry and flavorless, the 9oz Sirloin was full of gristle and fat, there were so few bites from the entire steak it was just awful. The baked potato was the only saving grace but it was small. We struggled thru the meal and regretted stopping in. My lady pointed out that the sign by the door said; "Hiring Cooks, apply now." $14 steak cooked perfectly 99% of time 2 sides (warning: veg. Not fresh but canned or other). Not locally sourced (yet) but nowhere else is yet either...rustic high end ambiance...sadly no live music or dance floor to line dance and two step....shorter wait than Texas Roadhouse but same quality and easier to hear people talking if you're actually dying with people you want to talk with....ha... Complimentary white flour rolls are savory, not sweet like Texas Roadhouse so I prefer....mmmmmmm....yuuummmm!!!!!!! Watch for discounted off season gift cards... I had a ribeye and my companion had the New York strip. Both were cut unusual and had quite of bit of 'extra.' I expect a fair amount of fat on a ribeye, but the strip seem to have a tendon and a blood blister inside. The rolls were good and reminded me of a Steakhouse from Texas. The staff was attentive and friendly. If they could get a better cut of meat, more stars would be easily earned. In the end the meal wasn't horrible and will adventure out the next time I'm in the Fort Smith area. read more

This is supposed to be a 12 oz. ribeye, medium rare. It was more like a 6 oz. tough piece of thin shoe leather, done medium well to well. Super thin, nowhere near 12 ounces, and grossly overcooked. Horrible steak from a "steakhouse." My son ordered a New York. His was appropriate size, but loaded with gristle and fat. We used to like coming here on our way to Missouri to fish a few times a year. Tonight's visit is the last. Server was friendly, but seemed to want to laugh off the situation. Manager agreed that the steak was very thin and way overcooked, and knocked off a few bucks. Not enough to convince me to return. There's a reason the dining room was so empty during the dinner hour. First of all Place was nasty.. the floor is littered with trash, customer receipts; and food particles, even silverware!!! I observed the waitresses walking by and looking at the garbage on the floor and did nothing about it. The waitress' were more concerned with turning tables than ensuring the guests had a clean environment to enjoy their meal in. They either did not care to simply grab a broom and dustpan and do a clean sweep up, or they did not feel it was their responsibility. I observed the people bussing the tables to simply wipe the tables off and everything on the tables went straight to the floor. Again no one bothered to clean it up, they just left it there for someone else to take care of. In the seats of the tables and the booths there is left over food from previous guests that the guests either dropped or the waitstaff of busser's raked off the table into the seats. As for my dinner, it was lackluster and nothing really special. I ordered the catfish dinner with french fries. The catfish was piping hot, and the fries were stone cold I could lay my hand on them. I was so hungry at this point after a 27 minute wait to get my food that I ate them anyways. The dinner came with two hush puppies and they were raw in the middle. The waitress came by and asked if the meal was good, I told her about the cold fries. She did offer to get me some new ones, but I declined as I was hungry and I was not sure how long hot fries would take. About 10 minutes later she brought out a to go container with hot fries. These fries had been purposely overcooked and were beyond crispy. They were almost to the point of being burned. She brought them so I would have some hot fries. I appreciate her gesture, but sending out hot overcooked fries in an effort to make amends for the cold fries was not necessary. I eat at Colton's 3 or 4 times a month and I have never had a bad experience except for tonight. But given the cleanliness of the restaurants that I experienced, and the laziness of the employees to not attempt to pick up any of the trash on the floor or ensure the guests have a clean dining area, I would seriously consider looking elsewhere to dine, instead of Colton's Steak House. Perhaps the Crawford County Health Inspector should visit this place. Because if the seating area is this nasty and the staff does not care about its cleanliness, I wonder how nasty the kitchen is??? read more

I spent $70.00 the other night. For 2 Dinners and one Dessert. A 1/4 of my Baked Potato was rotten. My Ribeye was so grizzly that I could barely eat it. It wasn't seasoned in any kind of way. I was very upset. But, I also work in the Food Industry. So, I waited until the next day to call when I was less upset. Called and talk to a manager. He took care of me. The food was so bad that we could not even finish our dinner. The steak was the worst steak we have ever had and the chicken was covered in oil. Even the side salads were terrible. The margarita tasted like cheap mixer with no alcohol. Our server was very nice, which was the only positive aspect of the experience. The atmosphere was fine. Where do I even start. This review is more for the owner of Colton's Steakhouse than prospective customers. Because, if the owners don't correct these issues, there won't be a Colton's Steakhouse. My wife and I were traveling to New Mexico to elk hunt. We stopped for the night, and Coltons was near. I ordered queso & sausage dip, steak tips with peppers and onions, with a side salad and mix veggies. A few comments. Ok: 1. The appetizers K so k so t step & sausage dip. You can buy a $25 crock pot melt various cheeses salt, spices and mix in real sausage and "walla" a flavorful dish you can actually eat. Take away...lose fake, out of a can queso its disgusting. 2. Your diner rolls are great but the cheap butter needs to be replaced with whipped honey, brown sugar or cinnamon. 3. The steak tips have no taste whatsoever, up the quality of meat, add some salt and pepper as seasoning and your tips will be worthy of eatin. 4. The peppers and onions need to e fresh you can add salt or pepper or both and they are worthy of being eaten. It's obvious not one person is in charge of quality or taste. I just hate to see a nice restaurant like this serve such low quality food when they could so easily serve quality product. Probably cheaper than the can products they now serve. It's just a shame to see such a beautiful restaurant serving suck sorry food. You can easily do better. read more

Highly recommend! Kassidy was one of the best waitresses we've had...helpful with suggestions, attentive, very comfortably friendly. Even told us there was quite a storm outside as we were leaving and told us to be safe. We were traveling so were looking for tasty healthy food with some veggies and they delivered! The rolls and honey were to die for, the iced tea was killer, and our meal was just what we needed. Seems so well managed with lots of staff all busy, friendly and seamlessly working well together.
