Came with three $5 rewards vouchers to buy a couple shirts, I was headed out of town so I was short on time. The rewards were two-days from expiration. The cashier rang me up and told me the coupon codes were invalid. I called my dad (who received the email about using the rewards vouchers and gave them to me to use) he confirmed that he hadn't used them nor had he given the codes to anyone else. I got back in line and explained my situation to the manager. A middle aged man with a moustache and and an accent. He told me I would need to call an 800 number to get the vouchers renewed. I told him the slips were two days from expiration and that I wouldn't be able to get back in town in time to use them even if I managed to call the 800 number (that he never gave me) I asked him if there was anything he could do. He offered to take off 10%, but he wouldn't honor the vouchers that I couldn't possibly have used. I left empty handed and pretty irate. read more

We were planning a last minute trip to Big Bear and thought we would check-out this store for some gear...mainly snow pants since we needed specifically needed pants. There were ZERO pants left. Granted we did go mid-January when the season was in full swing. So we knew our risk of there not being stocked. So for that reason I gave 3 stars. Aside from us walking out empty-handed, they had tons of jackets at really great prices, like 50% off!!! I didn't have any issues with employees there at all. I am fortunate enough to be on a Friends and Family list for Columbia so I get a great discount but this is truly the worst outlet store I have ever been to. I am specifically referring to a male manager (don't know what his name is) who was so incredibly rude to me in every way to the point that I was shocked by how unprofessional he was. He was so rude that an employee told me "sorry, he gets that way sometimes." Perhaps he was upset that I was getting a really great deal on some items? Not only did he ring me up incorrectly, when I pointed out some of the errors he rudely asked "anything else?" No "I'm sorry for my mistake" or "thanks for your understanding." No retail store associate manager or not, should ever behave like that and no employee should ever have to apologize for the behavior of his manager. read more

I went here at the suggestion of an Under Armour employee during my quest for gear for my upcoming Machu Picchu hike. Every single staff member/sales associate was helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable about the gear/merchandise. I'll be honest I did not think I would find any visually appealing gear, though I know that Columbia has a good reputation for quality. I ended up buying Columbia brand hiking shoes, socks made for long hikes, a stylish grey print backpack made specifically for hiking, and a neat jacket named 'hot to trot' which regulates body heat. It's black and fits great. The store was organized well and there was room to mill about and browse in a low key environment. I was also encouraged to sign up for the free members club which gives 10 % off your purchase and other benefits like free shipping. There is no catch, it's just designed to make customers come back and receive info about the latest products. Overall I felt like the outlet prices were good and the helpful store employees really made my shopping trip less stressful. read more

Pretty decent selection of clothing. It does rotate with the seasons, so you won't find ski parkas during the summer. At the end of the season, though, there are usually some pretty decent sales bins. Many items you find regular priced in other stores you can find discounted here with last season's colors or discontinued items. Mens, womens, kids, shoes/boots. I wish that not only would Columbia make more "short" sizes in their pants, but the few that they do actually find their way to the factory store. read more

This store is great if your just getting into the outdoors stuff or if your ready to take it to the next level and gear up right. They have everything you need and the staff to help. And a big shout out to the manager, William. He is seriously amazing in his product knowledge and his patience. He spent a good amount of time helping me find the right products for my adventures despite me holding a fussy baby, and looked excited about helping me rather than annoyed by my constant questions. I absolutely go crazy at this store. Tons of stuff and if you go to clearance you can find great stuff at really affordable prices. My sister and I did some Christmas shopping last December here. Great Columbia Outlet store in Citadel Outlets. Staff is very nice and friendly, but it can get very crowded on weekends. There aren't many people to help you but prices are definitely better than department stores. They have a good selection of Columbia material but it's not as organized as other Columbia outlets. read more

Terrible service! My wife bought several jackets including one for me but unfortunately the jacket for me was to big. I went back to exchange it but they refused. Such a shame because we really love the brand but I will never buy Columbia products again. The worst part was that the sales clerk just smiled in such a condescending way. This place was packed and the line was out the door. Do you know why? Because everyone wanted to buy stuff!!! I purchased a jacket, waterproof pants, hiking pants that turn in to shorts, waterproof boots, a flannel shirt, shorts, a hat, another fleece jacket thing, gloves, wool socks, regular socks, a bathing suit, a hat to keep the sun out of my face, a walking stick and a backpack. It came out to $97. I also accidentally shoplifted a shirt. Still $97. I hope I use all this stuff! I can't wait to go back at Christmas. read more

I was initially worried that I wouldn't find anything at the Citadel since I'm used to the Columbia and North Face at Camarillo but wow I was surprised at the selection. The sale rack was good and I was able to pluck some items from there. The salesgirl was awesome. She had an answer to all of my questions and wasn't pushy at all. I love helpful salespeople in retail. I think it sucks when you're shopping and the staff don't know diddly about the products. This is a great convenient location with excellent customer service and plenty of sizes and styles. I like that many of the products feel unisex so you have even more to choose from! read more

Great place! As long as you don't compare it to REI's return policy, you'll be happy. If you want to compare it to REI's return policy, then you have to compare prices first. You're paying a cushion at REI to get that return policy. Boots, maybe get it at REI, but you should know if you'll like a piece of apparel before you buy it. Many items are 30-70% cheaper than REI but quality is AMAZING. Service is always great here! read more

Columbia is the old navy of outdoor apparel. Don't expect any goretex, polartec fleece or other high tech gear. Prices are cheap though and you can get serviceable stuff for the local mountains. Sales here are constant so don't feel in a rush to buy. read more

Deceptive merchandizing display for the Women's Mighty Lite III vests. The store manager was not customer oriented and our sale rep on the floor noted that several other customers noted the problem. Store manager for the weekend needs to better trained to be customer oriented or removed from her position until she is trained. We walked away from a +$200 purchase because of the situation; along with not considering Columbia for future purchases again. Especially at this location. read more

the reason why most people shop online or store closes is because customer service is non existence anymore. I was just trying to purchase a shoes and I understand how their promo works , I am not a confrontational or the kind of person who argues. But this person Marco is very unprofessional, all I ask is a simple scan for a price check for I know for a very long time that sticker price can be wrong or not updated, but instead of scanning it he just tried to school me, after this person Alex intercede because Marco is raising his voice. But still Alex although polite is also trying to school me, all I asked was to scan the item which he did just to end the argument and I am right on the dot. It wasn't a happy shopping experience at all. Although Marco and Alex apologize I expected more, a simple "I am not sure but let's find out" please provide some customer service skills to your employees, it seems to be lacking in your store.
