My family was on vacation and spent the afternoon shopping, I stopped in to buy a new pair of sandals for a girls trip to Hawaii. There were 4 associates working and 3 customers in the store when I walked in. I was not greeted or welcomed. I was not told about and sales or any sizes that might not be in stock. However I heard two associates telling two other women this. As I browsed, I noticed quickly that other women came in after me and were greeted and helped. They talked about their other pieces etc. Apparently in order to be helped on this store you have to appear that you are dripping in money. I guess my money doesn't spend like the other women in the store. Just because I don't flaunt it or ooze wealth and privilege doesn't mean I deserve to be ignored either by 4 unwilling people. I tried to get one person to help me and she flat walked away from me. It's rare for me to get upset but I was humiliated by elitist and uppity sales associates from Tory Burch. As I walked, the only male working asked if I found everything I was looking for. "Yup I did but no one would help me." And I walked out as freely spent my money elsewhere. I told this story to another retailer who so kind a few stores down and she had been working there for TWO MONTHS. She said she has heard this so many times she can't count them. There is a thin woman with a raspy voice who works in (or manages) that department, and every interaction with her is unpleasant. She's consistently rude, dismissive, and acts as if any basic question is an interruption. If she's folding clothes and you ask for help, she reacts as though you're inconveniencing her. On multiple visits, I've asked about a single club regrip while I shop, and she responds with visible annoyance and a rundown of how busy she supposedly is--only for me to return 10 minutes later and find her chatting with coworkers. I've had other Dicks employees regrip a club for me in less than 10 minutes. She is, frankly, a terrible representative for Dick's Sporting Goods, and her attitude is the primary reason I will not be returning to this store.
