This was the first one that came up that had parking and I already knew where it was due to its proximity to my usual grocery store, so I decided to go here. I've only ever been to two urgent care facilities in my entire life, but this was by far the cleanest and most inviting one I've ever been to. The doctors and nurses who work there are friendly and went out of their way to be kind in situations that didn't even require it. Everyone went above and beyond. All of my concerns were addressed completely, and I was sent on my way with medication that, in the 24 hours since I was seen, has allowed me to breathe for the first time in 5 days and start actually coughing up the gunk and mold particulate I accidentally breathed in. Yuck, I know, but problem solved, thanks to the wonderful team here. Highly recommend!

In the garage, it cost money but it's pretty reasonable. Less than $3 if it's under 2 hrs. I was there for a mammogram, so when you enter the facility, no need to check in at the main door, just follow the sign to Mammogram and check in with the front desk there. Once inside, the tech, Terry walked me to the locker room, gave me a hospital cape, and told me to take off my shirt and bra (if I take off my pants, she's going home. Haha) and put my personal belongings in the locker then head to the waiting room. After that, she walked me to the room and showed me the positions to take the scan. Terry was really nice, friendly and pleasant. The experience was not as bad as I thought. The level of care was superb. I was expecting the worst since I read another Yelpers experience before coming. Almost had me cancelled the appointment but I'm glad I didn't. Terry explained the process and what to expect so I was pretty grateful for a good first time experience.

Practically every Seattle VA Attending doctor is affiliated with the University of Washington Medical School which has an outstanding national reputation. Thanks to changes in policy, you can often get approval to go to a local non-VA doctor or facility for care through VA Community Care. The system is complicated and can be frustrating but there are meetings and resources to help you navigate the best way to get the care you need. The VA knows who my medical insurer is and charges them so I don't have to worry about copays and additional charges that a private facility might think are due. I do pay some for medications but that's nothing compared to never having to pay out of pocket for the care and surgeries that I've had in and through the Seattle VA. I have also been able to use the Seattle VA pool twice a week through the MOVE program and I use a scheduled one hour zoom group exercise program called Gerofit at home twice a week. I recently ended my membership to Curves since I now get my exercise for free.

Then you have to wait weeks for a follow-up with your doctor to give you the results. My GP goes on pregnancy leave for 5 months and the VA never put in a replacement doctor. You had to see the PA or an LPN for care that they didn't have the training to perform. The place was terrible when I got back from Nam. Then it started getting better in the 2000's until Trump. Now its back to being a sh*t-hole again.
