We tried this place and grabbed a few meals before going to watch a Portland Pickles vs. Ridgefield Raptors post season game. We got it to-go and realized we couldn't bring it in the stadium so we grabbed a picnic blanket and ate before going into the park. The halibut/fries are good but are all previously frozen and bit on the pricey side for the size/portion. We also grabbed the shrimp and fries combo and a few salads and crab sandwiches. The crab sandwiches were a hit! We even grabbed an additional order of the patties (solo) to eat with a salad so that some of us didn't have to eat bread. The fresh fish market is right next door so flies are a bit of a problem but overall a great alternative to a ballpark hot dog!

I have nothing bad to say. The halibut was excellent. Not greasy. Not overcooked. Fries were good. They have that somewhat crunchy texture on the outside. Those are my favorite. There's some outside seating there as well as patio, yard area, and inside at 3Peaks tap room. We ordered from the taproom and it was brought to us. I'd say we'll definitely be back.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Not too busy at the cafe, but when we ordered at the counter they were behind on orders coming from next door (3 Peaks brewery) so they gave us a 30 minute wait time for our food. We agreed since we had just purchased some smoked black cod from the fresh seafood market next door. We also ordered some clam chowder with our two piece halibut fish and chips and they gave us that right away, so that was perfect! Staff is very friendly and helpful in both places. They have plenty of outdoor seating in front of the seafood market and picnic tables in front of the cafe. The smoked fish was really yummy. The clam chowder had great flavor as well; tasted a little cheesy?! I love a thick clam chowder, so it was right up my alley. We were a little disappointed in the halibut fish and chips. The fillets were overcooked, making the breading overly crispy and borderline burnt tasting. The fries were okay, but a bit soggy from the fish fillets laying on top. There were quite a few options in the refrigerator cases in the seafood market we may come back and try. We saw some fish and non fish cheesy dips and pasta salads that looked good. Overall a good first visit. The wait can be long since they also take orders from 3 Peaks next door. If the wait is too long for you, meander into the seafood market for ready to eat options as well as fresh seafood to take home and cook. Would recommend.

I have seen their sign off I-5 for many years and finally had to take the exit on my way back to Portland and give them a try. Oh man! I really shouldn't have waited so long. The fish and chips were so fresh and delicious and they have an amazing finish market with many local area fresh seafood like crab, Shrimp, Scallops and fish like salmon and halibut along with oysters and mussels to name a few. Come get some fresh flavorful seafood here if you get a chance.

This is their fresh seafood melt bread. Yum.

I finally made it up to the spot. It's a little bit of a drive from my house, but I think worth it! The store has so many fresh fish options. It's crazy. Also several kinds of oysters and clams. They do in-house smoked salmon, which is amazing! The store has several condiment options and some cute logo stuff. The employees were super helpful and nice. They answered my questions and were very pleasant. They have a small wine collection that has some good choices as well. So happy to have found this fresh fish place that I definitely will return to .

First time eating here and it was amazing and great! Loved the fish and chips and mahi mani tacos!

This was our first time PNWB and boy was it a treat. We preferred online for a quick pickup and go. Once we arrived the parking lot was full. You make your way up a ramp to a pick up window for to-go orders. You quickly notice other activity on the property. I asked the gentlemen who met me at the window what's all the activity about? He let me know that there are three businesses on the property, one owner. There is the cafe that has limited outdoor seating and mainly caters to to-go orders. They also have a seafood market where you can by fresh seafood. On Theo there side of the property they have a full restaurant that serves seafood. The area can get pretty busy, he remarked, when the weather is nice. We ordered two halibut and chip plates. The halibut is lightly battered and definitely moist. They offer one, two and three piece plates. I ordered two and was surprised at how large the pieces were. Plenty for one person when you add the French fries and coleslaw. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. A yummy experience Reasonably priced... do yourself a favor and stop by and pick some good seafood to-go or stay a while in the restaurant and chill.

I haven't been able to find a good fish and chips spot out here that has panko breaded fish and not beer battered. Stopped by the other day and was pretty disappointed. The service was not that great. The girl we spoke with seemed like she was in a rush or a hurry and wasn't friendly at all. We stood and waited and a guy ended up taking our order at the window. We got the chicken quesadilla and a 3 piece fish and chips. The quesadilla was tasty and flavorful, but instead of giving you a side of salsa, they add it into the quesadilla, which was fine, but I would still prefer a side of it with no charge because it definitely was not enough salsa in it. The fish and chips looked so delicious but was not worth near $30. I would rather eat at Burgerville and have a 5-piece fish and chips order for less than $30 and much more flavorful and delicious compared to this place. Wasn't impressed at all and don't think I'll be returning any time soon.

2 halibut fish & chips with cole slaw

Family brought us here on a Sunday (for Father's Day) because it's not far from our house and for the rave reviews. They have a store with fresh (uncooked) seafood, and then they have an outdoor area with seating to order lunch/dinner food. They have a nice menu and lots of things I wanted to try. I decided to get the halibut fish & chips, since it's a specialty of theirs, plus a cup of clam chowder. The halibut was great - panko fried and reminded me of a couple fried tuna joints on the coast that I love. The price was steep for what you get, but I don't know of another place in the Portland metro area with something similar. The clam chowder also was good, as was the cole slaw. Others got the cod sandwich (good) and fried clams (good). There's a brewery nextdoor with lots of indoor & outdoor seating, so next time we may go over there with our food plus the dogs. Staff were friendly. I'd come back again.

After another five minutes, we went and ask if they were going to take our ordeer. They said yes, you have to come and order at the counter. Menu said $5.50 for tofu salad rolls. I ordered, and a Thai Ice tea. Got bill, charged me 5.95. I said the menu says $5.50. He argued with me. Finally agreed to sell to me for the $5.50 that the menu said. How many people never notice that they are being over charged? I also ordered a Thai ice tea. Got my salad rolls, made in the kitchen and delivered. Still did not have my drink. He took next order and started on a third that had come in then looked at me, like why are you standing here? He finally poured premade Thai ice tea mix in a glass, added ice and then poured the cream over it. A very quick drink to fix. I received my Tofu Salad Rolls. Had 90% letuuce, one small tofu slice 1/8th inch thick and 2 inches long (only) in each roll. Did have large amount of basil leaves (which I like but many people don't and it over powered the entire taste of the salad roll. Was given a small container of peanut sauce which was only enough for one roll. My dinning companion had red curry. It was a good portion, enough for two meals. With a soda it was $20. Neither of us had a problem with the price - seemed fair. PROBLEM: service. None. Would not come and take our order at the counter or at the table (which they instructed us to go sit down). Argued over price. Never smiled. You could not understand him. He would not look you in the face or so you could read lips if that was your challenge. He was just extremely rude during our entire visit.

We also ordered the bruschetta, which was very tasty and had a very light crisp leaf fried basil leaf on top of each of the three pieces and a generous piece of carved Parmesan. When the dishes came, we realized they were quite generous portions. The chicken scallopini was pretty good. The spaghetti and meatballs was being shared with a toddler, and they were nice enough to substitute the spaghetti for penne pasta. This was also a tasty dish. Hello my Yelpies…read more When you're prepping for a food show and find your schedule too tight for a proper meal, MJ's Steakhouse at Ilani Casino becomes an easy and worthwhile stop. The atmosphere strikes a comfortable balance between upscale and approachable, and the staff greet you with genuine warmth--always ready with a few well-informed recommendations. The drink list is impressively curated, offering balanced selections that pair effortlessly with the menu's highlights. Though it's a steakhouse by name, my surprise favorite was the salmon--flawlessly cooked and arguably among the best I've had in recent memory. Perhaps MJ's should consider rebranding as a fish house that just happens to serve a perfect steak on the side. Cheers The Dutchman

It certainly had an upscale, romantic vibe to it. Our server was very kind attentive but because of the size of the party, was unable to accommodate fully to each person. It was a fairly priced deal for my husband and I on that Friday to get the Surf and Turf special. We got to share two starters, one entree, two sides and a dessert for $110. We got the caramelized onion soup, which was reminiscent of French onion soup but waterier. The ribeye was well seasoned and sliced for sharing. The shrimp was plump and not overcooked. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. The parmesan fries were buttery and sharp. The cheesecake had some fruit and compote layered on top. The crust was crunchy and thin, a good ratio for the dessert. Overall, the food quality was better than I imagined. Only caveat was when we left, a comedy show was also wrapping up. The delay in the parking was insanely slow, and it took us nearly an hour to leave the parking lot. So, I would check the schedule in the future if I were ever to return. Because the casino is an hour away from us, I wouldn't return unless I were in the area.

It's like they only had a half slab of ribs cooked and they had to quickly cook the other half of the other slab while we waited. For $40 it was not worth it.
