We left the interstate on our trip from Portland to Astoria to come here because of the reviews. We were at first a little concerned because we are visiting from Texas and we know brisket! Also, my husband was wondering if it could possibly be worth leaving the interstate and going through 3 traffic circles. Bottom line: SO worth it! What a great growing town, a great local spot with friendly service and food that makes you talk with your mouth full because you can't wait to say, "Wow! Amazing!" for the 10th time. We had the brisket sandwich, fish tacos and pork. We also had the carritos, cole slaw and fries. Every bite was phenomenal! So if you live here, what are you waiting for? If you don't, take that little side Jog off the beaten path. And Guy Fieri, I expect to see an episode featuring the Nest very soon! We stopped by this food cart for lunch today and we are glad we did! It's in the heart of downtown Ridgefield and easy to find because it's bright red with a few tables and umbrellas in front. The owner (I assume he was the owner anyway) was very friendly and helpful. I asked him how their Reuben sandwich was and he told me it was the best anywhere and he was right. It was delicious. The fries it was served with were hot and crispy as well. My husband had the Anaheim Chicken Burger and a friend had the brisket burnt ends and the carrots. Both were really yummy. I treated myself to takeout fish & chips here and was very happy! I loved the beer batter and the tender, succulent flaky cod inside. I've loved fish & chips all my life and am pretty picky. Everything we have tried here so far is great. We really enjoy their pulled pork sandwich, brisket sandwich , and also love the seasoned fries. We still have not tried everything but so far, all the food is flavorful, perfectly cooked, and delicious. We also have gotten ribs from Nest when they do specials and I have to say.. the ribs are AMAZING! Some of the best, most tender ribs we have ever had. Scott, who is the owner, is so very kind and often at the truck. Whenever we order things for specials with specific pick up times he is so kind and accommodating. Came here on a rainy Sunday. Located in downtown Ridgefield in their food truck area. Sunday has a limited menu but still lots to choose from. Very friendly staff, even brought my food out to me in my car! I have been twice in one week. The Rueben sandwich is SO good. The french fries are cooked and seasoned perfectly. Hello fellow Yelpers and friends. We live close to Ridgefield WA and wanted to find a spot close by that was delicious. Boy did we find a spot. This food truck is in a small cluster trucks tucked away in old town ridgefield. I must say they serve elevated cuisine out of a food truck. Don't let the food truck deceive you. We order the loaded French fries with Brisket. The forked were hot and crispy. The sauce was super type of cheese sauce that I could have eaten with a spoon by itself. I still don't know the ingredients. Fries were topped with tender brisket. When I say tender I mean tender. I could stopped right there. The burgers we ordered weren't needed. We also ordered the Nest burger. A really good well cooked burger with a side of pickles on a brioche bun. We'll done. Overall a home run. We look forward to eating at the Nest again soon. read more

I was visiting Ridgefield recently and finally had a chance to try Nest. The food truck is nestled into a lot with two other trucks and there is a small grouping of tables in the center. We ordered the brisket sandwich, that comes with a side of fries, and a separate order of mac n' cheese. The brisket had a wonderful flavor, with ample layers of meat, and not too smokey. My only suggestion is that they slice the brisket thinner and stack it. It was a bit challenging to eat three thick slabs. Fries....I could do without (wish there was another choice.) They did not taste freshly made. The mac n' cheese has a smokey cheese sauce which includes gouda. However, I would have chosen a elbow mac instead of penne for a better cheese to pasta ratio. But, this is just a preference. I will definitely be back to work my way through the menu. The people who own this food truck are so nice and committed to tasty eats. read more

We were planning to visit Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge, but decided to visit the food trucks in Ridgefield town and grab a bite. Trying to decide what to eat we settled on getting some beer batter fish & chips which was one of their signature dishes at the Nest food truck. We had no expectations how good or bad it would be, just wanted to give it a try. After waiting, we decided to eat in our car so we wouldn't be bothered by nearby pesky flies. When I opened the cover of my meal, my first impressions was that it looked freshly made, not your typical frozen battered fish. It was piping hot, so broke a small piece off. The cod looked plump and juicy and I said, mmmmmm, this looks delicious and fresh. Dipped it in a little tartar sauce and took my first bite. It was so delicious that I couldn't wait for my next bite. My wife agreed, we just found our "go to" place for fish & chips. The only other feedback was about their apple slaw. It had a peppery bite to it that didn't work well for my wife because of her sensitivity to overly spicy food. However, I thought it complemented the cod very well and it didn't bother me one bit. I found it very refreshing. The fries were great in taste and texture. I shared my experience the next day with colleagues at work. In fact, one of them took their spouse there for fish & chips and he said it was excellent. We will definitely be back again! read more

Stopped by during their first official night of business. A good addition to the pod after Sugar's left. We tried the loaded fries and the brisket sandwich. The sandwich was very filling and no complaints from my husband. The loaded fries could use a little tweaking; although a hefty serving with the fries and choice of meat it is missing something - could use the addition of a little bbq sauce or some other topping that would complement the cheese and meat on the fries. I really wanted this place to work for us because there are limited places to eat in Ridgefield but it didn't. The people are friendly and the service is good but the food has not been good and the price for not great food is too high. The brisket loaded fries are more like beef jerky with squeeze cheese all over it. The brisket sandwich is just 1/2" strip of meat and fat between to buns, I've gotten this twice hoping it was an off day and it was the same both times. Biting into a warm sandwich with sauces on it and getting warm fat with bread was truly gross. Next time we ate there I thought I would get the pulled pork and pulled out a cups worth of fat and was left with 1/2 cup of edible meat. After our third time with disappointing food we gave up. read more

I had an amazing lunch at the Nest today! The Kalua pork with kimchi was perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of smoke and heat. The kimchi was so fresh and crisp and not all mushy like some I've had. There was plenty to save a little for dinner, although that didn't happen because I devoured it. Including my drink and tip, it was about $20. I think this was a decent value considering the excellent flavor and the ample portion size. It might be a silly thing, but I appreciated the proportions on the plate which ensured that every bite was a perfect bite with exactly the right combo of pork/kimchi/rice. read more

I rarely review places, let alone twice, but we've been here 3 times now and we can't get enough! I had fish and chips last night and I'm still thinking about it. The batter was so light that it was almost nonexistent in the most mind blowing way... It provided the crunch and the perfectly cooked cod took over from there. Ordered the mushroom Swiss. Burger was so dry it was powder. Swiss sauce, or whatever it was supposed to be was a chunky unmelted block on half the burger. More like blue cheese crumbles than Swiss cheese. So much bbq sauce , the first bite deconstructed the thing. It was like they were trying to make up for the dry burger with all the sauce. And who puts lettuce, tomato, and red onion on a mushroom Swiss burger? I've never seen that in all the mushroom Swiss I've ordered from other restaurants.
