Not only was the woman behind the counter so friendly and polite, she was helpful. A few days later, she showed me the dress, and it looked fixed. When I arrived home to try it on, I could tell she did wonders. While the price I paid in the end was not the one she initially quoted, I was ok with paying slightly more as it involved fixing the hem and pleats of the bottom half of a dress as well as potentially adjusting the side seams where the pockets were. Additionally, she did caveat that she might not be able to fix the dress so I appreciated her upfront-ness. And so for the last two months, I have trekked to Farragut Square, greeting the folks behind the front desk and walking into the quaint space that is Barr Cleaners where the woman greets me by name and asks when I need my items. She is always flexible and can turn the items around within a day or two, if it's not a lot. Most of the times, I tell her she can take her time, and even still, it's only a couple of days, and I'm ok with that. The most recent dress I brought in clearly showed wear, and when I asked if she could take care of it, she smiled and said in her cute way, "No problem." Prices are a little pricey, but the service is worth it in my opinion.

As I inquired about the charge for the repair and expeditious service, James quickly replied that the repair was a "Thanksgiving gift." As I insisted further, James politely declined to accept any payment. Whilst this repair seemed rather routine, I was immediately impressed by Penn Cleaners' commitment to customer servic. He pointed to the camera screen and watched it 3 times claiming the black buttons were not on shirt when I brought it and he told me to leave. I told him to show me the buttons on video, he would not and then he got aggressive came from behind counter to intimidate into leaving. I told him I needed his name and he refused. A woman came out and I should her the spare buttons my tailor provided and she put them on over the existing buttons. This business is shaky to say least. Go somewhere else if you need any dry cleaning or pressing services. The owner lies and can't be trusted. The owner rebutted my previous post but failed to mention that they would not show me the video in spite of my asking several times to bring it into my view. If there is video evidence, PROVIDE it.

Completely unacceptable--tailoring should be precise, and this was anything but. What truly pushed this from frustrating to outrageous was the response when I tried to address it. The manager told me, verbatim, that she "did not care" that this was for my engagement party. No accountability--just blatant indifference. It's one thing to make a mistake. It's another to show zero regard for your customer, especially when you've impacted an important, time-sensitive event. I trusted them with something meaningful and was left scrambling at the last minute with a dress that didn't fit and a business that couldn't care less. Take your money somewhere that values both quality and basic human decency.
