Located on the heavily trafficked Harrisburg Pike sits this tiny pizzeria that has existed a long time and has a loyal customer base. Anyone who goes here knows that their "Columboli" is one of the must have items to get. It's filled with ham, salami, American cheese and.....mustard! Tomato sauce served on the side. While mustard seems like an unusual ingredient for a stromboli it actually adds a unique and delicious character. Columbo's uses the mustard sparingly, enough to add to the Boli but not too much to overpower the other ingredients. The cheese melts perfectly and becomes nice and gooey. The ham and salami provide balanced salt. Overall, this is great Boli to get here, especially if you've never eaten at Columbo's. I must make you aware that it is offered in two sizes (small and large) and both are probably smaller than you'd expect. Depending on how hungry you are or how many you are feeding you may want to consider upsizing or ordering more than one. The small costs roughly $6 and large $10. Also know that there is an upcharge if you pay with card. But other than that, Columbo's Columboli should be given a try. read more

If I could give 6 stars I would! Our business is located right down the street from Columbis so we probably order delivery at least once a week. Deb delivers our food every time with a smile and a quick chat. She makes sure we have everything we need before she leaves and MORE, she actually drops off cupcakes and other treats for us from time to time! Can you imagine that kind of service from a pizza delivery?! The food is ALWAYS awesome, a place you can depend on to get it right every time even if you order no onions, extra mayo, ketchup on one, dressing on the side etc! We had fantastic Strombolis, especially the one with their namesake. The pizza was decent as well, but the boli was the star! Not too doughy, with fresh ingredients throughout. We had carry out, so I can't speak to anything else, but overall it was really good and the food traveled well. read more

My family and I were stuck for lunch. Many places had long, insufferable lines or you had to pre-order. In desperation we spied this little gem. You could call it a hole in the wall. Very small. The service was very fast and the portions were large. We had a BOGO coupon so we figured we would try it out. The inside is very underwhelming; it is definitely a "hole in the wall". The food is delicious, and a great value for what you're getting. Their subs and cheesesteaks are large and well packed with everything you'd expect to find in them. The best menu items in my opinion are the Strombolis and the cold cut subs. The strombolis are the only menu items I'd say are a little small for the price but they're so good they're still worth the buy. Sometimes their delivery times can be slow but they tell you about how long it'll take on the phone so you have some warning first. read more

I started eating Columbo's after My Place/Rosa Rosa closed for its fire, and stayed closed for two (2) years. This place makes a really good pizza. The crust, a foundation of every pizza, is very good. Thin and crispy like a crust and not just a wad of bread, like some other places. Columbo's has its ovens set just right. The pizza is nicely done, browned and crispy from the center to the edge. Very few places can pull this off, so this is a big credit for Columbo's! The dining area is about four or five tables, nothing fancy. No beer. I always carry out, so I appreciate the stack of newspapers they keep inside the door. If I'm early, I can catch up on local news while I wait. I tried Rosa Rosa when they finally reopened, and decided Columbo's made a better pizza, for a couple of bucks less. Goodbye, Rosa! Columbo's has joined Alley Kat and Norma's at Root's Market as my favorite local pizza joints. There is one catch, and this isn't really Columbo's problem: The slice.com online ordering service is a useless waste of time. Here's how it actually works: Your online order goes to Manhattan, New York, where somebody picks up a phone and calls in your order to Columbo's. At least once slice.com failed to get my order in. This is slice.com's business model -- they cater to local pizzerias all over the country, and it's all just an extra step to order by phone. I can call in my own order, so I won't use slice.com again. I honestly don't see why Columbo's or anybody else even bothers with this! read more

I went here some time ago just to try someplace new. Kind of dirty, food was kind of boring and not all that cheap. Parking is also kind of tricky. They do have parking, but its tight. The only thing I've ever gotten here was the Columboli - their own spin on the stromboli, but it's to die for!!!! I will gladly drive the 20 or so minutes from my house to this place when I get the craving. The restaurant itself could use some improvement. Although the dining area appears clean the decor could use some refreshing, as is the bathrooms, dated and dingy but clean. From the moment I started placing the order I was disappointed.. Nonexistent customer service or phone etiquette exists there.. They claimed to have mixed up my ticket. I wouldn't have known this if I wouldn't have called to see why my order was taking longer then expected. The pizza is mediocre, and why call their boneless wings, wings?? Once upon a time, there was a local chain of sit-down pizza restaurants called Your Place Restaurant. I was introduced by Y.P. to this new food called stromboli years ago. The stromboli was uniquely different and so good. It had meats and cheeses in it that I really didn't get on subs,sandwiches or pizza. Your Place is still around with 1 or 2 restaurants. Sadly, the size and quality of the Y.P. stromboli has shrunk while the price has risen. Fast foward a couple years later: A co-worker of mine reminded me of the Y.P. stromboli and he then recommended a local place called Columbo's Pizza. He said to get their special Stromboli called the Columboli. I will not regret it. I tried it and it was even better than my past memories! The Columboli contains meats of ham,salami and Italian sausage. The cheeses consist of American and mozzarella. The stromboli also contains mustard and oregano/pepper. I know these meats,cheeses and condiments sound odd for stromboli, but it works so good! This is the only way I will ever eat stromboli ! Which is strange since beef, bacon or chicken is my preferred meat included in my meals. Just don't put it in my Columboli !!! The downside is the size of the Columboli is starting to get smaller. I hope they don't start shrinking them like Your Place. I know, the economy is bad but...come on! Be good to your loyal Columboli customer. He/she will buy it until they say..."I guess I'm not important" P.S. The only place that I know that carries this same kind of awesome stromboli is called Tony Di Maggio's Pizza located in San Jose,Ca. No pepperoni or vegetables like onion or green pepper. read more

When I lived in Lancaster about 17 years ago, I loved this place! When my wife and I came back to visit family, I bragged about the meatball subs. They hadn't changed a bit in all that time. I hope they never do. I don't care what anyone says, the best subs are made at Columbos! read more

I have been a huge fan of Columbo's pizza for many years. I could eat a whole pie and still crave more. The crust is on the thin side, which is how I like it. The sauce is great, but combined with the melted cheese, it is delicious. read more

I work nearby so there fore I have tried Columbo's on occasion. Here is my opinion of it. I have noticed that over time their service has become lackluster at best mostly when I have stopped in to order and just recently I was more aware of something that had been bothering me since my last visit, every time I go in there with a coupon they ask me if I want to tip the cook, just so we understand each other, if your food was consistent than I would be OK with tipping the cook so please stop asking me that. If U don't like the idea of losing $$ on a coupon then stop passing them out. It appears to be unorganized most of the time (never anyone at the counter to help). I won't be returning because I think there is better pizza and subs elsewhere. read more

We live outside of the delivery area but it never takes more than 25 minutes for the pizza to be ready for pick-up. And it's worth the drive for the pizza! Delicious thin crust, as close to pizza from the shore in Jersey as you can get. Inexpensive and absolutely delicious. Don't expect any ambiance, the place is not very easy on the eyes. Just get the pizza, take it home and enjoy! read more
