The new Rendezvous Steak Shop & Pizzeria recently opened the first of December and it was absolutely wonderful to see this well oiled machine in action. This is a new iteration of the old Rendezvous that was previously in this location. I heard about , but did not attend their soft opening, but I showed up on their first Saturday and was very impressed. It's the small details, their was a nice lady who was tracking on paper how long it took for folks to get their sandwich or their pizza and clearly they have worked on their process because I had my freshly made pizza in a bit over 9 minutes. Very impressive. The line was out the door right after noon so I think others agree that they are off to a great start. A little feedback if I may, the dough is delicious but a tad sweet and the sauce needs a little more umph. Please don't get me wrong, this is some of the best pizza in Lancaster thus far (in my top 5 for sure) and being a pizza snob I love for businesses to hit it out of the park. Staff were fabulous. Food delicious and time to wait for food was clearly efficient. Certainly will return often. read more

We have a new go-to for pizza in Lancaster city! When we arrived, we were happily greeted by the employees behind the counter. We decided to go with an order of the French fries, and 2 pizzas (the roni and the marinara). The roni boasts sopressata, mozzarella and oregano. Your quintessential pepperoni pizza - but elevated in flavor and quality. It was DELICIOUS! The marinara pizza has their special "6 hour marinara", garlic and oregano. We decided to add ricotta and Spanish onions to this pie. The marinara was truly delicious. Perfect amount of flavor and spice. This is the perfect pie to experiment with their different toppings with. The French fries were also delicious - perfect amount of salt, not too greasy, and SUPER fresh. Truly cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was and how friendly the staff are. The restaurant was also extremely clean and well taken care of. Let me preface this review with...this isn't your typical American style pizza, and that's a GOOD THING!!! If you have ever been to Italy, your taste buds would immediately recall the nostalgia. We came to town for a vacation and being the pizza snob I am, I looked up "Wood Fired" pizza near me. Rendezvous pulled up and once I saw the Italian pizza oven...I knew these guys were serious about their craft. If you know anything about these ovens, they don't come cheap and they take a mastery to become one with the oven. Riley truly has mastered his craft and has brought a taste of TRUE Neapolitan pizza. Their entire staff was super friendly and inviting. They take the time to make sure you feel right at home. When we come back to visit the area...this will be our first stop! I grew up on Grant Street right behind rendezvous very nice people very clean, but it's nothing like the original. I was there last month and I had a cheesesteak and I'm sorry, but that was trash now I haven't had the other like pizza and all that which I'm sure is good. You can't mess up pizza but I don't know what they put cheesesteak it disgusting fries were good though, and the lemonade was trash. You gotta step your game up. I'm sure the other is good. But if you're gonna pick up the family name stick to the same recipe the old one was ran down, but the food was delicious. read more

This is the Lancaster version of the show, The Bear, come to life. Very, very exciting. Additionally, it is nothing like the old Rendezvous (thank god!) where many police investigations began and ended. I love the re-imagining and improvements to old Lancaster institutions like The Horse Inn (the consistently best restaurant in the city) and Rendezvous. Progress or die. It looks like this one is for the future and changing with the rapidly progressing, growing and gentrifying city. read more

The establishment was clean, well lit. Nice place. The staff was friendly and the service was good. Amarosa cheesesteak roll, always a favorite. Ours was soggy, so sad. The steak and sauce was fair. I wouldn't not go back, but I don't see us going back soon. Lancaster has a few good options for a cheesesteak. May try the pizza next time. read more

Gave them two stars because the restaurant is trendy, staff was friendly, however, the food leaves so much to be desired. This is my second visit, giving them the benefit of doubt and all I can say if you want the old rendezvous, here you will not find it. The cheese steak has an exotic flavor, though had a lot of meat doesn't taste like the original nor like an authentic cheese steak. Second visit I tried the pizza, they are small, pricey, was burnt, paper thin crust and nothing one would expect in a pizzeria, NYC $1 corner store pizza is much better than this. I was extremely excited when they opened and do hope they succeed now that the neighborhood needs trendy places, unfortunately will not return, hope your visit is more positive. read more

The resurrected Rendevous is aesthetically pleasing with a contemporary vibe. The staff are all very friendly and interacting with customers on a personal level so you're not just a number. Getting to the cheesesteaks...we have tried the cheesesteaks two times so far since the opening and I'm sorry to say they unfortunately did not live up to the originals. We all remember the soft bun, the juicy meat and the juice that would be in wrapper that you could dip your sandwich in it...all gone. We'll give it one more try in a few weeks and then the delicious cheesesteak of our memories might remain just a memory. read more

Can remember when this place was brand new and had a line of people waiting toward the door and I was probably in my tens at the time or younger. Was there a couple of years ago when Roger was still there and was for years. He said then that he was going to be closing up and did from what my Aunt said. I thought there goes another one. At that time it needed a lot of TLC and was really looking pretty ruff. The last one that I loved besides the Rendezvous was Moma Mias that was taken over by Lancaster General and they never went some place else and just closed up. Glad that some one else in the family took over the Rendezvous and the staff are doing a great job. Always had great streak sandwiches and still are doing a great job. Thanks for the family who are keeping it going. I'm going on my late 60's and get to go there a lot when I go see my Aunt who has lived in Lancaster for over 70 years. So glad they are still there and making great steak sandwiches and other food and in Lancaster doing it in another brand new place. read more

We did take out here for three separate pizzas. It was easy to order online and the pick up time was accurate. When picking up the order, the cashier was friendly. All three pizzas were tasty! We did the classic Margherita, the teramo, and the Bianco. We would hands down recommend all three! Everything was high quality from the dough to the toppings. read more

My daughter had a cheesesteak which she loved. She said it was delicious but I never even had a chance to try it because she ate it too quickly. I tried the spinach pizza special with all the flavors combining perfectly and not overwhelming. The owners and staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Best pizza I've had so far in Lancaster. Better than Luca, which for a while I felt like had the top spot, until I discovered Rendezvous. Nice byob casual spot. The no cheese red pie is fire, I would give it a try even if you're a cheese lover like myself. Having the sauce carry a slice is a statement, and Rendezvous delivered on that with a super savory garlicy sawce. The Spring Special pie is also on point. You get that good umami with the black garlic aioli, just chefs kiss. Affordable prices, expedient kind staffing, and good af pie.
