I found Mark at the California State Department of Aging site. Within a DAY, ALLWAYS took action and care was immediate. Mark & team has helped our family immensely. I don't know how I could have given my Mom the care we received, if it weren't for Jackie, her caregiver. She was also very instrumental in "transitioning" my Mom in a way that she was more open to assisted living and care than ever before. Jackie's compassion, attention to detail, experience and professionalism turned my Mom's caregiver into a trusted friend. Jackie tag teamed with me to guide my Mom and educate her so that she herself, independently, made the right decision for herself. She was not only my Mom's "right hand" person--but mine as well. She is now going to move into a wonderful facility (I was referred to a great "broker" from Mark, too) and her worries are over. She is no longer afraid to be alone at night, and has someone within her reach in minutes. Comfort care was all that was required. Although Joyce was under hospice care, we needed help bathing her until the hospice staff could send bathing assistance. We called Colonial Home Care. They sent the sweetest angel to our home to help. Daisy bathed, changed clothes and bedding so that Joyce would be as comfortable as possible. I couldn't do it myself. Joyce was beginning to sink into unconciousness and could no longer help me move her. Daisy did the job with expertise that alleviated adding stress to my sister-in-law's discomfort. I'm so grateful. In fact, Daisy was such a welcome assistant I asked her to return the following Monday. Before I could schedule the appointment my sister-in-law quickly sunk into death's grip. Gigi was understanding and worked diligently to find us a perfect match to care for our sick loved one. Within in a couple of hours, Susan arrived. She was kind, gentle and eager to care for her patient. Susan was the angel we needed in an extremely emotional situation. Gigi ( the owner) worked with us in parallel with the agreement stipulations, confirming we felt comfortable with the details and payment options. Overall this company was professional and compassionate, we didn't feel like they were taking advantage of us like so many of these types of agencies do.
