Friendly staff, solid food choices (I'm particularly a fan of their chicken fingers rolled in BBQ sauce), house-roasted coffee that is always delicious (and which comes in these great tall ridged plastic mugs if you drink it in-house), and an ambiance that's pretty striking. The coffee bar is centrally located, meaning you can sit anywhere around the baristas as they're making drinks, but there's also a beautiful open second level with glass barriers, letting you sit above the bar below and look out of the windows as Richmond Heights buzzes by. Be prepared for a wait - that's actually the only consistent downer about this place. I came here to meet with a friend on a Saturday afternoon and it honestly was the perfect place. There's two floors with seating and outdoor seating as well. There's a parking lot across from the shop, which is inside of a building. The service was nice and they were very friendly. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, so I can't really attest to everyone's standards, but I prefer something super sweet haha. That being said, I'm interested in trying non-coffee items. Decided to try this place because it had really good reviews and was a little surprised to find it on the main floor of an office building. The upside is that there was plenty of parking on a Sunday morning! The space is very open, plenty of tables, bar spaces, and a mezzanine area with comfortable seating. My friend and I placed our orders and took a seat at a table. We ordered a chocolate orange latte and an iced latte with extra caramel. Both coffees were delicious, but the food really surprised us. Due for an update...have probably been to Coma a dozen times in the last 10 years. A lot has changed here, multiple times, including the move to the other side of the lobby of the office building, into a space with a lot of seating, which is really nice. There are big communal tables up here and people come to work. Surprised I didn't update my review on my last visit; I thought I had. The cortado I had on my last visit, which was an anerobic fermentation coffee, was as good as drink as I remember having. I also recall that the cold brew was really interesting, and the drip was outstanding. I think they are outstanding roasters and make very good drinks. I still do, but they aren't offering as exotic coffees as they once were. I did the flight today, and whereas last time all the coffees were medium or light roast, today they were all fairly dark...could taste the roast on two of the three. Also, they aren't offering a single origin espresso anymore. For most people, this continues to be an outstanding coffee shop, and I would recommend it to them highly--probably the best option around for many--but I wouldn't put it on my list of a must go destination for specialty coffee. read more

The service is good and prices are reasonable. I usually just stopped by to grab a matcha latte or oat latte to go, so I haven't tried their food yet. I like that they use robusta coffee which offers the classic and nostalgic taste of Vietnamese coffee- bold with notes of dark chocolate and nutty. I'd been wanting to try this place since it opened based on positive reviews. I finally went with 2 friends on a weekend for breakfast/brunch. The menu looked amazing, the food itself was okay. My problem with them was all in the delivery and attitude. I will give them that they were working hard and said they were understaffed by 3 people, but I was still unsatisfied after taking that into account. You order at the counter, standing in a line, and get a number for your food/order. When I asked if all 3 of us could be under the same number they said no, because the food orders might come out at different times. Our food came out at tremendously different times, and my food arrived well before my tea. They'd told me to wait at the counter for my tea, so my meal sat at the table for quite a while before my tea was finished steeping behind the counter. Then I ate my food for about 5 minutes before my friends' meals even arrived at the table. There were people at indoor tables alone on their computers, one was by herself at a 6 top and ignored the line of people waiting for places to sit. All in all I did not enjoy the food well enough to return here after having a pretty poor experience. And one last thing, since you order and pay up front at the counter I had pre-paid a really generous tip which I regretted after this experience. I'm a decent tipper, but they did not live up to the 25% that I gave them at the counter. read more

The sandwich has an egg, cheddar cheese and bacon with honey cinnamon butter finished with sea salt. It is so bomb! I also got the vegan sugar cookie and I couldn't tell it was vegan at all. Very soft on the middle with a crispier edge. The inside has two levels so there is plenty of space and a lot of people there were working from the coffee shop. The upstairs has couches and comfy chairs in the middle and a couple of tables. The downstairs has mostly small tables and chairs and a bar area to sit at as well. I've probably driven by this place a million times and never known it was there - I'm so glad I was looking for a new coffee spot on Yelp and decided to try Coma Coffee! It's disguised inside of a business building, but this is a really cool coffee shop with a lot of seating options. I love that they have a second story so there are so many choices of where to sit -- tables, sofas, bar seats and some tables outside. This is the perfect coffee shop for studying, working or reading. I tried the dirty chai tea latte and it was delicious. My usual complaint with a dirty chai is that there isn't enough espresso, but this one was perfect! It gave the perfect caffeine boost. The gal who answered wouldn't take my order. She stated that 'taking orders over the phone just isn't something we do'. She claimed that she didn't have a way to take payment over the phone. Then she stated they used to take orders over the phone but it isn't something they do anymore. (Make up your mind, either you cannot take payment over the phone (which just isn't the case in this day and age) or you used to accept phone orders but don't anymore. It cannot be both.) I enjoyed the drinks, good roasted flavor and the matcha was refreshing. Don't forget to mix the matcha drink to get that bitterness of the matcha and sweetness of the strawberry. Staff were friendly. There's seating all around the barista island but it was pretty packed. There's also outdoor seating available.
