    Boudin egg rolls
    Jewel B.

I've been here a few times and I always enjoy it. They have the best crawfish I've had since moving to the New Braunfels area. The crawfish are always big, flavorful, and decently priced. This time I came, I tried the crawfish etouffee and it was not for me. The flavor wasn't bad and it's a good price, but the texture ruined it for me. It was very thick and chunky. I'm not sure if that's just how it's supposed to be, but I just know it wasn't for me. I would highly recommend getting the boudin egg rolls! The servers are always super sweet and attentive. The vibe is chill and layed back. I usually like to sit outside, but today it was too hot, so I sat inside. I still prefer their outside seating because it's quieter, but the inside is good for hot days.

Crawfish boil paired with a michelada

Great crawfish boil! Took my dad since he's a fan of crawfish and enjoyed 5lbs. We ordered medium-spice and it was just right. Added the alligator sausage (yum!), mushrooms, corn and potatoes. Paired it with a michelada for a perfect Sunday Funday! There was a little of confusion with our table. My dad went inside and was told to choose a table. After waiting about 5 minutes, server came out with another couple and asked us to move. We did all that and then that couple moved to a different table. Another 5 minutes went by and two other groups came out. All those groups were served before us. If they can dial in outside service I would have given them 5 stars. Manager on duty was super nice and brought our doggies water.

Deliciously seasoned Peel & Eat Shrimp! Pay for a pound and get shorted, "noone will know", right?
    Jennifer J.

I ordered 1 pound of peel & eat shrimp, mildly seasoned. The waiter gave me two cocktail sauces to go. I paid him for 1 pound of shrimp and tipped him $5.00. When I got the shrimp I asked him, "Can I get some garlic butter?" He replied, "That will be an extra fee. I can get you regular butter for no charge, though." I was a little perturbed that I had just spent $27 and some change and a garlic butter would require me to charge my card again for a minimal fee. I'm diabetic and this was supposed to be 16 ounces. (1 pound!) I returned home and had to weigh my portions. Only to find that they had shorted me over 1 ounce. The shrimp were well flavored, but go where you can get what you pay for, without them thinking you're trying to get too many free condiments.

    Catfish, lightly mattered and delicious

We were at a loss as to where to find great Cajun food In New Braunfels. Found it!! We sat outside with excellent service. We will be back enjoy more.

    Great seasoning!

Great service and great crawfish! The wait can be pretty long on the weekend so be prepared. I love brining my dog here when the weather is permitting.

    Gumbo

Excellent food and service, and a great Cajun flavor (pun intended). Did a bowl of gumbo and a catfish basket, both on point. The Gumbo was perfect, just spicy enough to get the eyes and nose moist but not overpowering. The catfish was good, there was more than enough in tge "small basket, the large would have e been too much. I had Cajun fries for my side, didn't notice anything different from normal fries but there were way too many of them for one human to eat.

Zero crawfish in the crawfish etouffe. This was the $15 bowl that ended up in the trash. A disgrace to Cajun food.

Zero crawfish in the crawfish etouffee that had no flavor. Sour coleslaw. The total for these two tony bowls was $17 for a self pick up order. Ended up in the trash. How is this place staying open?!

What is price of crawfish going for?

I’m just curious to know what size shrimp cost $16.00 a pound & does someone peel them for you at that price?

Well, they are an easy peel shrimp that is already split and de-veined for you so they are practically almost peeled for you. But don't knock it until you have tried them we have people drive in from over an hour away just for our shrimp. They are… Read more

(we live in san antonio) but... the experience this time was just ok, not fantastic. despite hubbie making reservations 3 weeks in advance, and restaurant knowing it was a celebratory occasion, we were seated at the very first table - which faces the entrance. awkward location. we pretty much ordered same meal as last time. mexican shrimp cocktail - sauce was very thick in an off putting way, but shrimp was fresh and nicely chilled. hubbie got shrimp & oysters with fries. he's not one to complain much, but he said all were a bit greasy & not as crispy as he'd like. i had shrimp, scallops & broccolini. plate came with not very well prepared broccoli - with no mention from server before or upon arrival of switch. how can broccoli be both under & over at same time? unsure, but parts were very hard and others too soft, so it went mostly uneaten. i would have asked for something else if id known they didnt have broccolini. scallops & shrimp were well prepared, but light, velvety sauce from last time was replaced with slightly "gloopy" and a bit greasy sauce, didnt look or taste very appealing. brussel sprouts were drenched in some type of mayo sauce that was not mentioned on the menu. so "crispy" brussel sprouts were soggy. SO... how much of this experience was on us? we didnt complain, we didnt send back, but we would have had to send EVERYTHING back and this was our anniversary. we are not that picky that every dish needs to be perfectly prepared to our liking. but for is to encounter a problem with every dish? maybe just a bad night. but i dont feel like we received the upscale experience we paid for. only one thing was as fantastic as we remembered - the creme brûlée!

It was just me and my son. Update after owners response: either I got scammed by the waitress or they recently lowered drink prices. For clarification I asked for a burger and waitress told me the only option available was the grilled cheese which was not worth $8 in my opinion.

WOW! bright green, tender, not overcooked leaves with a light cream sauce. i passed it around and everyone LOVED it! another surprisingly yummy bite was the chicken tenders! they got passed around too, moist, tender and very tasty. salads that passed by looked delicious and fresh! not your usual leafy dishes. we did have to ask for drink refills although there werent many tables. bills arrived & onion rings had been divided amongst us - appreciate they can do that, but friend had asked for them to be added to her bill. i was also charged $2 for my spinach. server again said it was his fault (not noting sub) and offered to remove it. but apparently there was an upcharge, which is fine, but note on menu or have server inform. but since all are listed as fries with no separate pricing - it looks like they are interchangeable. it wasnt a bad meal but at $45 plus tip, i left feeling like i had a fried basket experience at a premium price. i told myself i'd pay $20 for the spinach so...

We had plans to get dinner elsewhere. The food was pretty good and fried to the right amount...but our order took over 30 minutes to make. We had to visit the gals at the truck a few times to ask them if our order was done, or if we were forgotten. The sweet gal taking the orders also said that they would bring it out when it was ready, but we waited a solid 30 minutes and decided to ask. I think they just forgot our order of chips and queso and fried pickles. Besides that, the experience was great. Their chips are great (I love the thicker tortilla chips!) and have a more solid crunch to them. The queso is on the lighter and thinner consistency side, which is always a refreshing texture. They definitely use a lighter cheese instead of a dark cheddar, as shown through the color of the queso. It's got a great flavor to it too without having any extra add-ins. A nice traditional queso! The fried pickles were average, but my bf is obsessed with pickles...so that was his impulse buy. Not sure if I would say this is a steady food truck that I would come back to outside of the brewery, but I'm glad it's at Guadalupe! Good choice for snacks and probably their po boys!
