We stopped in from out of town last march and there was a 2.5 hour wait. We didn't get to try. This time we hoped for a chance and man, unfortunately it was such low quality and horrible food and a long wait from when we ordered to when the food came out. We should have known right when the calamari came out. It was some frozen ring concoction - not calamari at all, and the "sauce" was dry and chunky. We also ordered the shrimp jalapeno popper, zero shrimp. All cream cheese - all yuck. We ate one and sent it back with a no thank you! The hot Cheeto boudin was underwhelming. My kids love hot Cheetos and were excited but this fell flat. Crisp crust was okay but the inside was unflavored mush and they are ridiculously huge. Crust to ball ratio is not good these should be smaller and seasoned. My daughter ordered Cajun pasta with blackened chicken and it came out wrong. With shrimp. The waitress did offer to bring chicken on the side but my daughter is just starting to warm up to shrimp so the whole plate would've been sent back, she decided to keep and try and after a few bites said it was not good , pasta was overcooked and she did not like shrimp. I let the waitress know she did not like the taste the shrimp gave after all (3 bites) and asked for tenders instead. The boil took FOREVER to come out. Finally our waitress let us know that they had "made it wrong" and were redoing. By then we were so disappointed in the wait, in the food we had received - after a long river day we were looking forward to a great dinner but this was not it. We asked to take the boil to go as soon as it was brought out. Out of towners beware! Plus, the check came out and the incorrect Cajun pasta remained as well as the shrimp jalapeño poppers. I had to bring up that I wanted the pasta removed for coming out incorrectly and she said bc my daughter ate we could not take off. *_* I was like yea, she tried to push thru and could not. . . Those were some good mudbugs! The server was helpful in helping us decide. We got there early on a Thursday and got the 5# special which came with 2 potatoes and 2 corns. You can buy more sides if you want. Our first batch was very spicy, had the seasoning sprinkled on top. Not my favorite method, but oh well. The next round didn't have the spice on top and my husband found that more tolerable. I guess we'll order separate pounds next time LOL I like it when the cayenne makes my head itch! There's a bar area, several tvs around, and a great patio for outdoor seating. Being a crawfish place, it's super casual, and the place was packed by the time we finished. They have a lot of beers on tap and some in bottle too. I told them they should start an early happy hour, maybe 3-6pm, selling pints of draft for $5 and pounds of bugs no sides for $7... we'd definitely go!! I've been here a few times and I always enjoy it. They have the best crawfish I've had since moving to the New Braunfels area. The crawfish are always big, flavorful, and decently priced. This time I came, I tried the crawfish etouffee and it was not for me. The flavor wasn't bad and it's a good price, but the texture ruined it for me. It was very thick and chunky. I'm not sure if that's just how it's supposed to be, but I just know it wasn't for me. I would highly recommend getting the boudin egg rolls! The servers are always super sweet and attentive. The vibe is chill and layed back. I usually like to sit outside, but today it was too hot, so I sat inside. I still prefer their outside seating because it's quieter, but the inside is good for hot days. read more

Great crawfish boil! Took my dad since he's a fan of crawfish and enjoyed 5lbs. We ordered medium-spice and it was just right. Added the alligator sausage (yum!), mushrooms, corn and potatoes. Paired it with a michelada for a perfect Sunday Funday! There was a little of confusion with our table. My dad went inside and was told to choose a table. After waiting about 5 minutes, server came out with another couple and asked us to move. We did all that and then that couple moved to a different table. Another 5 minutes went by and two other groups came out. All those groups were served before us. If they can dial in outside service I would have given them 5 stars. When I got the shrimp I asked him, "Can I get some garlic butter?" He replied, "That will be an extra fee. I can get you regular butter for no charge, though." I was a little perturbed that I had just spent $27 and some change and a garlic butter would require me to charge my card again for a minimal fee. I'm diabetic and this was supposed to be 16 ounces. (1 pound!) I returned home and had to weigh my portions. Only to find that they had shorted me over 1 ounce. First time having crawfish this season and we were excited to try this place, but the experience was disappointing. We went Sunday at 5 PM and waited an hour, which was fine. After being seated, we were told to scan a menu from another table, but there was no signal and their WiFi didn't work. Since they don't own any physical menus, we had to share one phone, a little frustrating. The food was great, we got the crawfish, shrimp, crab, and the sampler appetizer which were all really good. But service was lacking. We had to ask multiple times for refills, our margarita was forgotten, and the receipt wasn't itemized so we had to track someone down to review the charges. Great food, but the service and overall experience didn't match. Probably won't be back. Also, we didn't know this but the daiquiris from next door aren't allowed in the restaurant. Granted this is Comal CRAWFISH Company, but the fried entrees were so greasy this visit. Shrugged it off since we arrived so late and close to closing. Gave it another go this evening and was again disappointed. Was looking forward to the all you could eat fried fish and shrimp. Catfish was just okay, shrimp very greasy and coleslaw missing from the special. Waitress said new ownership and it was no longer served with the special. Ordered it as a side and had no flavor and looked old even though waitress stated it was freshly made. Guess if you're looking for Crawfish, as the name states you'd be at the right place. Excellent food and service, and a great Cajun flavor (pun intended). Did a bowl of gumbo and a catfish basket, both on point. The Gumbo was perfect, just spicy enough to get the eyes and nose moist but not overpowering. The catfish was good, there was more than enough in tge "small basket, the large would have e been too much. Disgusting! First off they forget half of what I ordered, second the coleslaw is all mayo and no flavor, third, the "gumbo" bowl was literally just broth... literally nothing in the broth! If you enjoy mediocre seafood on folding tables like a picnic at your buddies house, this place might be for you. Stay away from the fresh seafood bags. The shrimp are small and the corn no better than that frozen stuff you get from HEB. The only thing we tried which was worth the wait was the bang bang shrimp. Then my old lady spouse had a weird encounter with the ladies room. One person who worked there went in and locked the door. My wife assumed that it was a single stall. Later another server knocked on the door and told the gal inside that people were waiting at her table. There was a sound of an explicative inside and the girl exited. No flushing, no running water of hand being washed. Nothing in the stalls (two, not one) to indicate they had been used. So, you have to wonder why the door was being locked. Use your imagination as to what was going on there. I think there must have been something that law enforcement may want to check into. read more

Side of butter and season for extra heat is all that is needed. Also the crawfish Etoufee was fantastic. It was full of flavor and great chunks of crawfish. The service is great as well. Visited for the first time yesterday for lunch and it was great! My husband and I had some crawfish at another restaurant last year, so that restaurant set my expectations and CCC exceeded them. Let me start with...I don't like crawfish BUT I do eat lots of other things here so there's what I will discuss. The gumbo is very flavorful and hot in a good way. Love the hushpuppies. My son's fav is their shrimp Alfredo. Hubs loves the shrimp poboy. My go to is the snow crab or dungeoness crab but ultimate fav is king crab when they have it. Love the sauces they serve it with but I always favor garlic butter. Servers are pleasant and mostly attentive-it can get busy. Restrooms and hand wash are always clean. I've had some mediocre and below subpar experiences in the area with crawfish, but I'm happy to report that this crawfish spot finally gave me somewhere to look forward to on the weekends. The crawfish were seasoned very well, and even though there are a lot of pictures of dry, looking crawfish - just asked for them extra saucy, and you will get that saucy crawfish with delicious taste. I'm not a big fan of mushrooms, but my boyfriend placed an order... I honestly wouldn't get them on the side again the way that we did initially and just go ahead and have them mix them into the crawfish so they can get the sauce taste . If you order them on the side, And are a penny pincher like I am in this economy, you may feel scammed if you get the mushrooms mixed in with the crawfish gives you an illusion that the six dollars was worth it. I wish that they were offer beef sausage alternatives however they do not. I was a little surprised with the Booty shorts uniform for the girls when I came in, but hey, it's Texas and it's hot. Definitely not what you would consider an upscale restaurant, feel free to wear your sweatpants while you get full on the crawfish.
