Kids got head lice? No worries! They will take good care of you here. Brought my 4 year old here and just left her here. Dealing with head lice with the sweet kiddos I nanny for. I had actually gotten my head checked at a different salon the week prior, but the salon didn't have room for the kid's removal day off. The salon was clean, private, easily accessible in Concord, had previous good reviews, and the technician's were nice. However, I was charged $180 for 3 head checks - told that they saw some little white spots (similar to nits) on the hair of one of my daughters, but was informed it was not lice/nits. They sent us away with a certificate of being lice free. Fast forward 3 weeks later to today and I get an email from my daughters school that they believe both my daughters (along with several others) have nits/eggs. Needless to say, I call Lice Centers of America - who inform me that their head check is $20. So not only did I get way over charged for a head check - but it's highly likely they sent me and my girls away with lice nits. I understand that lice removal and prevention is a complicated, multi-factor process. But to have spent so much money - with no meaningful guarantee of their head check - and not even a month later be faced with more cost and work (likely could've been prevented with an accurate first head check) leaves me with little recommendation for this salon. read more

Knowledge and combing are really the only true way to get rid of these pests. They are careful with tender heads and the kids are kept busy with their own DVD player while they sit and get combed out. They do not use harsh chemicals - they comb, inform and help repel with natural repellents. They are thorough. Which is what helps you walk away confident that you are on your way to becoming lice free! Dry checks are fee - so if you are itching and are paranoid, come get a free dry check. Found several nits on my daughters scalp so we headed here immediately, 45 min drive but recommended by a friend. Two hours combing cost us over 200$. They found several dozen more nits and baby lice. One of the women working on my daughter was in training. They gave her an all clear with the plan of coming back in for follow up combing, and to have her parents checked again, five days later. In less than 24 hrs I gave her a quick peak check and immediately found more large nits clustered in two areas of her scalp! How did they miss that? So I called to ask for a presumably free follow up combing to fix the work they clearly did not do correctly. Instead the owner told me they would comb her but if they found nothing I would have to pay the full fee (75$) for the appointment. This would be an additional payment since any microscopic nits would still not be visible after only one day. She said I should have taken pictures of the nits. In other words she's telling me I'm lying. SHE ALSO REFUSED TO PROVIDE EVEN A PARTIAL REFUND. So instead of driving 1.5 hrs and being called a liar and charged more, I spent my time combing out my daughter myself and found EVEN MORE NITS and SEVERAL LICE. Unbelievable! I'm willing to accept that may have happened because they had a person still in training working on my daughter. But STAND BY YOUR WORK! If you've left behind lice and nits, at least do a follow up combing for free. Instead it's no refund and no free combing to check their work. If you're dealing with lice, this is the place to go!! The staff is wonderful and friendly, and they do an amazing job!! Lice is no fun, period. After failed attempts at getting rid of it myself, I found comb it out and took my kids here, and I am so glad I did. The kids get to pick a movie and watch it while they get their hair combed out, and there's no nasty chemical shampoo treatment involved. Best of all, they actually get it all out!! What a great place! My son's school had a lice scare & one day he was compaining about his head being so itchy, so i treated him with an OTC lice kit, shaved his head and washed everything. Done. Over the next couple weeks, I noticed my head was getting itchy. Was I head trippin'? Being paranoid? Googling lice images at night when the kids were asleep probably wasn't a good idea. I was convinced that i now had lice. I have long, naturally curly hair and there was no way I could comb through it all! I called Comb it Out this morning and they fit me in this afternoon. Please do not waste your money here like I did!!My daughter got lice at school, and apparently I got it from her so I panicked and came here.The ladies that worked on me were very kind. It cost us $89 each on that visit. We came back at the recommended 5 day visit and were declared lice free, another $75 each. However, my daughter continued to itch. In the meantime, the schools shut down and the shelter in place was ordered so we couldn't have contracted it again from anywhere else, plus I did all the cleaning/laundry they recommended and more. I tried to contact Comb it out through calling and email, no response. Out of desperation, I called another company, Lice Centers of America, and they were wonderful from the start. I highly recommend!!They screened us over the phone due to the virus, set up a private appointment, and immediately found lots of live lice on my daughter which I have video of!! They were a little more expensive but worth every penny!!They guarantee it works the first time as they have a machine that uses a warming device that kills all lice and eggs through dehydration and it works!! I wish I had gone here first!! When I tried to request a refund from Comb it out, they then responded to me and said they couldn't help us because of the shelter in place and when it is lifted, they can comb us all out again but no refund!! So I guess my six year old should wait weeks to months to have lice? The main thing was there was no concern for my daughter at all. I was immediately relieved when I walked into this salon! Sophia checked myself and 3 children for head lice and took the time to explain the process and reassured me that we would be just fine. I had bought a store brand of lice shampoo, but later found out that it doesn't remove the nits or eggs. Sophia methodically goes through your hair and removes all nits and eggs and counts them. She has a wonderful checklist for you to take home to guide you through the home cleaning process. My kids LOVED going to the salon! I have never had my kids love going to get a haircut or even the dentist. They have dvd players for the kids, toys, and even snacks. I was told by my grandson's school that they noticed nits his hair, I called my daughter at work and she told me to find a place that could get him in and get him checked. This place is amazing!! I've been to both locations and had great experiences at both. I was so stressed when I found out my oldest had head lice. They were able to get her in to a same day appt. and they did a check on myself and my younger daughter. We were told to come back in 3-5 days for another check. My daughter has very thick hair so I was prepared to pay for another treatment. When we went back my youngest and I both had it and we were both able to get treatments done. They will take your money and not help you once you leave. I have attempted for about a month to speak to the owner, however, they will not call you or respond to you. Spoke to the manager who told me their employee was willing to pay me for half of the services because they felt it was the right thing to do. What kind of management/owner will allow their staff to pay for a service even they felt was not done properly?
