But this place is easy to sum up: - The great example of Texas style BBQ (even if this place was in Texas). Great texture and great moisture retention in the meat. Flavorful meats - you can skip the sauce and won't need at all. - consistency every time: From day to day and every day - their end product comes out perfectly. Ribs are never ever tough (or obliterated). The smoked turkey always has such moisture. The kind of moisture coming from the meat - (not) some juice poured on it. Sides: Have their beans and tell me they're (not) some of best you've had! - These owner folks care and take a pride in every plate they put out. This is a husband/wife team that cares and works well together in what they do. There is (no) better BBQ in the SW Missouri area....nothing comes close to this place. Hands Down the best BBQ in Branson area. Brisket may be best in state. Potato salad and the mac & cheese are excellent sides. This is a get it to go or eat outside picnic style place. Don't look for a sit down restaurant. They're closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. read more

I am a local Texan up here for work and was searching half the day for a good BBQ joint. I stumbled on this and drove from Fort Leonard Wood to try it. I will say it was well worth the drive!!!! The food was excellent! I love turkey and like to judge a place by that meat. It is an easy meat to mess up, they nailed it. The turkey just came off the pit and it was fantastic. The whole meal was excellent, just like eating back home. The staff are super friendly and went out of their way to make sure the turkey was ready or if I needed to wait (I was going to wait). Ok if u really know what TX BBQ is really like and that's what u like then ur prob fine. Being from Okla and KS U WONT LIKE IT! I tried the bbq beans and they taste just like a can of pork n beans w jalapeños n other peppers added then u have no taste other than pork n beans out of a can! ! My wife's beans smoke theirs! The sauce tasted spicy slightly even though it was the mild and I'm sure I got a hint of vinegar as well!!! That really sucks!! Sweet it's not which is what we are used to in KS and Okla along w some places in TX depending on where in TX u are By the way what no one tells u is this place is ALL outside seating! It was a beautiful drive to reach this place. They have outdoor seating and take out available. My sisters and I ordered the small sampler platter which was an abundance of food! Our favorite was the smoked bacon and then the turkey. The smoked bacon was unique. I wanted to take some home but they had sold the last of it that day. All of the meats we tried were quite good. Our sampler came with all the sides. The beans were delicious. As was the elote and potato salad. The slaw had quite a bite of jalepeno. I'm not a huge Mac and cheese fan but it was also quite good. Sauce wise. It was Texas style bbq and the sauce was more vinegar based. Nice flavor. We wanted to try the Apple and bacon pie but had zero room left after the meat fest. Maybe next time!! After a long travel day the was one of the only BBQ places still open. It was a great evening eating outside and enjoying some great bbq. This place makes some good food! We got the small sampler, which despite the word "small" was actually one of everything on the menu (minus dessert). And everything was good. All the meats were delicious. All the sides were good. The coleslaw was a bit spicy with jalapeños in it, I've never had slaw like that before. It was cut a bit thick for my liking but it had great flavor. The potato salad was my favorite, I could've eaten a gallon of that stuff! The corn elote was also really really good. The place itself is quaint and cozy. It's mostly outdoors, with covered eating areas. We sat on a picnic table. The kitchen area looked nice and clean, it seemed like a family operation with younger kids helping out and working. I had the frito pie and the flavors combined within were wonderful. My wife had brisket and raved about it...and she's picky with her brisket. The apple cobbler for dessert was wonderful and I refuse to eat cooked apples but this time I did. The husband and wife team were great and deserve your support.
