Phenomenal BBQ. Great cuts of meat properly prepared. We got the smoked pit plate as take out and everything was seasoned perfectly. I'm not a fan of restaurants drenching their ribs in bbq sauce. Chose this place because it was dog friendly. There is one table outside, and it was open when we got there with our dog. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining. One of us got the baked potato with no meat, and the other got a brisket platter and added sausage. Everything was great. The potato was perfect! The brisket was flavorful and tender. We discovered this hidden best kept secret of Branson last fall and couldn't wait to return for our anniversary celebration trip. Oops! They are Closed on Sunday! Great for family time! While enjoying the Barbeque they came around with an extra Catfish plate and asked if we'd like it. Of course we said yes , and were immediately impressed. 2 large Catfish filets , slaw , beans , & fries. The Catfish was excellent, steaming hot , crisp , and excellent seasoning. Some of the best Catfish we've ever had. We've been back twice since and had the Catfish both times although it actually a Barbeque place. So good ! I hate to do this but the food this time around was nothing like last year when we visited. My husband has told everyone who will listen that he's waiting to get back to Dana's for some bbq. We stopped after an all day drive to get in by dinner time but everything was so greasy. The brisket on our sampler was so fatty it was inedible and the ribs were tough. We still like the sides well enough although the Cole slaw was somewhat warm. It was a Saturday night and so busy I just took the loss and we ate again later. Food was a big let down. I had heard so many good things about this place. I got a strawberry chicken salad with poppyseed dressing and for the most part it was good, but I actually prefer the Braum's strawberry chicken salad more than this. The chicken was awful and felt undercooked. The system they have for seating was very strange and not clear. All the tables said reserved so we almost walked out thinking we wouldn't have a place to sit. My husband wanted me to make sure I added that their brisket didn't taste like brisket. It had a pot roast flavor and no smoky flavor like a brisket should. My son got a burger which he said was fine, but nothing special. Amazing food & staff! We walked in just before 8, thinking it closed at 8:30. The staff was so friendly and insisted we order. They were so nice about it, which we greatly appreciated as we just arrived to town. I got the pulled pork nachos - huge portion and the combination was awesome. Danna's is just off the beaten path from the tourist town of Branson. It was also one of the few places that were open during the holiday week - and we were glad we tried it. It's counter service where you order at the front and they bring the food to you. If you stick with the BBQ, it's pretty quick, but the burgers and fried foods take extra time. It's a very casual environment, so no need for pretension here. The food is good and I ordered the catfish on more than one occasion. Catfish is life! Portions are generous but they don't sauce the ribs very much (the sauce is on the table). The prices are excellent for the amount of food and the area. We hit Dannas up several times a year when we're visiting Branson. I am pretty hooked on the catfish dinner and hubby loves it too, although he had a burger tonight and pronounced it excellent. The best thing about this place is that the hot food including fries and such are HOT when they get to the table. There's a burger place on the strip we used to love that we've decided to give up on for that exact reason.
