Chose this place because it was dog friendly. There is one table outside, and it was open when we got there with our dog. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining. One of us got the baked potato with no meat, and the other got a brisket platter and added sausage. Everything was great. The potato was perfect! The brisket was flavorful and tender. We discovered this hidden best kept secret of Branson last fall and couldn't wait to return for our anniversary celebration trip. Oops! They are Closed on Sunday! Great for family time! I hate to do this but the food this time around was nothing like last year when we visited. My husband has told everyone who will listen that he's waiting to get back to Dana's for some bbq. We stopped after an all day drive to get in by dinner time but everything was so greasy. The brisket on our sampler was so fatty it was inedible and the ribs were tough. Food was a big let down. I had heard so many good things about this place. I got a strawberry chicken salad with poppyseed dressing and for the most part it was good, but I actually prefer the Braum's strawberry chicken salad more than this. The chicken was awful and felt undercooked. The system they have for seating was very strange and not clear. All the tables said reserved so we almost walked out thinking we wouldn't have a place to sit. My husband wanted me to make sure I added that their brisket didn't taste like brisket. It had a pot roast flavor and no smoky flavor like a brisket should. My son got a burger which he said was fine, but nothing special. Hold cow, what an amazing meal!!! My sister recommended this place after a day out and about in Branson and we are so happy we went. I shared a two meat plate with my daughter. Danna's is just off the beaten path from the tourist town of Branson. It was also one of the few places that were open during the holiday week - and we were glad we tried it. It's counter service where you order at the front and they bring the food to you. If you stick with the BBQ, it's pretty quick, but the burgers and fried foods take extra time. It's a very casual environment, so no need for pretension here. The food is good and I ordered the catfish on more than one occasion. Catfish is life! Portions are generous but they don't sauce the ribs very much (the sauce is on the table). The prices are excellent for the amount of food and the area. We hit Dannas up several times a year when we're visiting Branson. I am pretty hooked on the catfish dinner and hubby loves it too, although he had a burger tonight and pronounced it excellent. The best thing about this place is that the hot food including fries and such are HOT when they get to the table. There's a burger place on the strip we used to love that we've decided to give up on for that exact reason. Our family visited Branson for our annual family trip, and this place was our first dinner spot. Arrived somewhat early - maybe 6ish, and it was already crowded. The set-up of the restaurant is not crowd friendly. Everything gets congested right at the front doors because as you enter, you run straight into the crowd/line/mass of people who don't know whether they're in line or not... The second thing I automatically notice, is the feeling of the floor under your feet. Although I was wearing sneakers with good tread on them, the slipping and sliding is real. The grimy, slippery, just generally gross feeling is under your feet wherever you go. It feels NASTY - like the whole place is covered in a thin layer of grease. My food was mediocre. I should have gone with a burger (as they are my absolute favorite thing), but I didn't. Instead, I opted for one of the specials on the board. Cannot recall the name, but it was essentially a patty melt with pulled pork instead of beef. The sandwich was small and overpriced. I would also caution families who have small children (we had 2 two-year olds) against coming here. Unless your 2yo will stay in their highchair/chair the entire time - you'll be miserable. There's no where for them to be 2 year olds - it's just too crowded with people and tables, etc.. Take them outside, you say? Ha! That's funny; tried that. The six good-sized quesadilla wedges provided plenty of food, but without discernible smoke or seasoning the meat turned out to be bland in the extreme. I took the wedges apart to add pepper and a healthy serving of the house sauce, which brought them to life. So, my sense is that you are going to taste whatever you add.
