Rochelle was super nice and a kind lady. She really listened to your problem and try to resolve in her best knowledge. I was having a little problem with the payment process and hopefully I will get it resolve soon. But anyway, I passed the online exam the same day I registered. Then one thinks about the effect on auto insurance rates which could increase 20% annually if you don't go to Traffic Violator School. I selected this option to get that bad karma behind me. When the Court sends you the "violation information notice", you pay the fine plus the traffic school amount first. Can do it on-line. A list is provided of hundreds of traffic schools in CA that you may attend. I selected one within my local area. A classroom session was no longer an option for this particular school so I decided to enroll in the Internet course of study which cost $39. There are cheaper ones around, but the internet chatter mentioned other fees by the time you were done. There's also an option for homestudy plus the cost of a workbook totaling $55, but you have to go in person to show your ID and pick up a workbook. This is a programmed instruction on your home computer (16 or so sessions w 3 quiz questions at end of each). Probably the same or similar program w other schools. It took me approximately 5 to 6 hours with breaks in between but if you're a fast reader, you could probably do it in four. With Internet or Workbook, you have to pass a 25 question test and you only get two tries (can miss 7 questions) otherwise you have to re-enroll. There's intermittent jokes and situational descriptions within the programs...so not completely boring, some new terms I've never heard of in my 55 yrs of driving. All serves as a good review, even if I always see blatant violations every day on the road of people that really NEED to get a traffic ticket (especially those California rolls, speeders and weavers on the highways). I'm only recommending this schools because when you google others, all the names of traffic schools are so tricky "best traffic school" is always listed first on the search. Just make sure the one you pick is approved by the Ca DMV with an " E" number. OCTraffic School, is E1862. Or type in octrafficschool.net I selected it because I could actually call the local number with a friendly knowledgeable person who answered the phone, answered all my questions, plus if I selected Home Study" program, it was local for me to p/u the book, and return the test for grading. Once you successfully pass the test on-line, you can no longer sign-in again. There was a yellow box at the end of the program "Completion Tracker", and I think you have to click that box if you want to be notified that the Court & DMV have received the result, this costs an additional $8.95 (which is only optional). I meant to do it, but closed the tab, before I realized I needed to click the yellow box. Good luck, and safe driving.
