While in Wildwood, this is the place to go. It's a taqueria and these tacos are pretty legit. The al pastor is actually really good. It even has the pineapple pieces on the meat. You get 4 tacos (normal size) per serving for around $10 bucks. They also have a bodega or their equivalent and prices are very close actual and not resort like prices. read more

An authentic place in a very authentic grocery store. While I don't recommend tacos al pastor (they were good, but not great), the tinga tostadas, and the chorizo are incredible. They actually make it in the store, but run out quickly. The place feels a little like a small Mexican diner, and have sit down service. The service is good, and prompt, and family friendly. There were a lot of full families with kids. On the way out, make sure to stop by the freezer and grab yourself a popsicle. If you want to play it safe, egg nog, and rice pudding are great, but if you feel adventurous, try the mamei, or nance. This place also makes a good pit stop before going to the beach, or boardwalk. Empanadas! Yes, I've found great, affordable empanadas in-of all places-North Wildwood, NJ. Having just moved to the area from Albany, NY, I've been on the hunt for authentic Mexican, and Comerial Mexicana is exactly what I've been looking for. I ordered 3 ground beef empanadas with lettuce, tomato and avocado topping. Talk about delicious! The empanadas were made to order, so it was about a 10 minute wait, but worth every second, and at $3 a piece, a great value too! They wete stuffed full, piping hot and absolutely delicious! If you need a break from all the bar and grills in Wildwood, i highly recommend this place for authentic Mexican - this is coming from an NYC girl. We ended up order 2x in a week. The red enchiladas were great, the tacos were delicious and the people were satisfied with their burritos. The short rib tacos in particular were definitely worth ordering again. The chicken was made with chicken breast so it was a little dry but somehow very tasty. We added a bit of avocado and it helped with the dryness. Everything may not be available on the menu so it's worth being prepared with an option 1 & 2. Everything tasted very fresh so i didn't mind that they didn't have everything we asked for. Front of commercial mexicana is a grocery store and in the back you can order take out food or sit down and eat. The resturant has a small menu, which I posted pictures of. The restaurant is authentic Mexican food, the food was very good and I would return. My mother and I both ordered the al pastor tacos with cilantro, onion & salsa verde on the side. My brother got hot wings which he said were very good, but not too hot (as in spicy). For desert I ordered churros, they were very small and different shape than the churros I usually get from other Mexican restaurants or bakery's. However the churros were served hot and delicious. Cannot believe this gem wasn't on here! We get Dominican food regularly at home and always look for Hispanic type foods. This place is amazing! They have a small grocery at the front of the store with various Spanish foods, peppers and spices. Keep going towards the back and they serve food... like eating at a friend's house. Everything we ordered was amazing! All cooked by hand and fresh!!!! No microwave frozen food. Prices are extremely reasonably and I had enough to bring leftovers back to our hotel! Not fancy at all, which is what we wanted, but clean and delicious!! In fact, so good, our picky daughter wanted to go back every day we were there!!!! read more

Wonderful little bodega store that cooks delicious Spanish and American. We had the chicken wings and rice with black beans, grilled cheese sandwich, nachos , sweet plantains, philly cheese. This is one of those "blink and you'll miss it" places in the Wildwoods. From the outside you might think it's just a grocery store, but inside they make incredible food! Their soft taco shells are delicious and the meat is always seasoned perfectly. Portions are huge and can easily feed two people. Just back from an excursion in Wildwood. Mom and I had Taco's at Comercial Mexican and it was almost as good as " Super Tacos " in Mexico City. I think the ambiance and atmosphere was more authenic in Mexico. I ordered four taco's - one each of spicy pork, hot sausage, beef tongue, and Barbeque. Two were ordered with Cilantro and onion, and two were " Americanised " with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. Your choice of red ( tomato based salsa with chilies and spices ) or green ( avadgado ? with chilies and spices. They are served open faced on a plate, underneath two taco shells each. You roll them yourself, closing the bottom end, and rolling the other taco around the open end. Quite frankly, I made a mess of this. Maybe I should ask how to roll the taco or take lessons in Mexico. The beef tongue was my favorite. This is some of the most authenic Mexican street food I have had outside of mexico. Freshly prepared to your order. Fresh cooked meat. Fresh veggies. The sour cream was actually a dense sour cottage cheese. Served with wedges of lime. Can't wait to go back and try a cheese Quesadillas. Comercial also has a full service meat market and MEXICAN CANDY ! A must try is Mango Pulp sold in a plastic container. Spicy and delish.
