The hotel itself is clean and airy, with a spacious lobby and sitting areas. The room is comfortable and adequately appointed with a relatively roomy bathroom. No more mini bottles of shampoo, however - just large containers of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash mounted on the tub/shower wall. The hotel has a bistro so you can hibernate if you wish and order breakfast and dinner, though there are plenty of dining options nearby. Staff was pleasant and competent.

We sat in the parlor room and the chairs were all torn up- terrible! We wanted coffee and went to the front desk where the clerk was playing solitaire. When we asked if there was coffee or hot cocoa we were told to go to the bar and order it and it would be delivered to us- we were surprised that she didn't stand up and offer to take care of it for us. Customer service training should be a focus. There are a lot of places to stay and we should feel that we made the right choice in staying here and spending money here but we don't. Hopefully employee training as well as some repairs will be done so that customers can benefit.

I had to go down and have him come upstairs to help us find our room only to discover it wasn't where he sent us at all. Next, there was no bottled water in the entire building, not to buy or what is customarily complementary in a hotel of this price range The very polite guy went onto explain that it was because they hadn't received their shipment of water. I'm confused because I sure did pass Walmart, Target a grocery store and a Trader Joe's just minutes from here. But alas no one thought to go get water. Their parking lot is a four minute walk from the hotel. You may hit the jackpot and get one of the 45 spots right in front of the hotel. We didn't. Boo!! Also, they are saving money by not cleaning the rooms daily. I think that's BS but it would've at least been nice for them to tell us a check in. I found a gray hair on the comforter which was not ours. Gross!!! They do have a fancy, highfaluting Molecule air filter that I did not steal. I don't love this place and I wouldn't recommend it for any other reason then if you were spending multiple days on campus. If I come again, I will request daily service and also request to be in the west wing.

The complimentary breakfast provided both hot entrees and continental offerings. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. And their rooftop solar panels provide nearly half of its electricity needs! Room service started knocking on our door at 10. We explained checkout was noon. They were back at 10:20 and again at 10:45. We gave up and left. I was told the manager, Jeremy Brown, was not in that morning. I called him the next day. He agreed to refund half the charge, or $90, but said I had to arrange it with Booking.com. I asked for a credit on booking.com. They refused to provide it bc they said manager Jeremy Brown did not return several phone calls confirming he agreed to the refund, and added that booking.com has a no-refund policy. so the service is lousy/disruptive and the manager is not responsive to complaints.

My room was basic, but clean and very comfortable. The shower was warm and the pressure was good. The heat/AC worked well and was a bit nosy but not at all like other places I have stayed. My room's location was almost a guarantee to be loud. Right across from the ice machine and the first room from the pool. However, with the exception of one little girl who didn't want to leave the pool and had a lovely set of lungs, there was no noise. It was a peaceful night's sleep. The free breakfast in the morning was a huge disappointment. Coffee was there, cereal, oatmeal packets, and some pastry that I noticed was there the night before. I grabbed an apple and was grateful for the muffins back at UMass. My next trip to Amherst I will definitely check here first.

The fruit that's available looks like it's been sitting in the bowl for several months, certainly not fresh. We had a lot of issues with our room keys ceasing to work. Which was particularly frustrating considering that if we parked at the side door nearest our room we couldn't get it. In the two nights we were there we had to get our keys reprogrammed 4 times. The reception staff on the late shift are very surly, and certainly don't want to help you. Although close to the Hampshire Mall and other stores, the area outside gets quite seedy after dark. Next time I'm back visiting UMass I shall look for alternate accommodation It doesn't even live up to the adage 'cheap & cheerful'.
