The hotel was beautiful and comfortable and clean! I don't know why all the negative reviews! The tub was a bit worked over, but when I asked management about it they said they were in the process of reglazing all the tubs in the hotel and it just takes time. And it was a good price. This hotel is definitely a good one! The only difficulty was connecting to Wi-Fi. You had to watch a 13 second advertisement before it would connect you. And every time you close your computer, when you open it you have to reconnect to the Internet again. And it's not a very strong Internet connection. I will start by saying that they were one of the few hotels I could book for a reasonable price due to graduation week in Boston. Additionally, the staff were very accommodating as I was checking in at 2:30AM during the end of May 2025. Big props to them. Additionally, the free breakfast and coffee were nice to have in the morning. Building off of some of the previous reviews, you can tell the hotel is worn and could use a little work in some of the rooms. They're clean for the most part, but the room I stayed in had some dents, pain scratches, and staining all over the place. The bed was ok to sleep in - no bedbugs, weird smells, or stains. Unlike many hotels I've stayed in, they actually do have a small refrigerator and microwave for use. During my stay there, I had really bad issues with the shower. Big red stain in the middle of the tub and the hot water would not stop cutting out during my entire stay (Bad given the weather at the time). Other problem I had was the hallways smelled like weed and management was not able to resolve it despite my complaints. From what it seems like, housekeeping is a hit or miss for some of these folks. They never came to my room but then again I was only there for a couple of days. read more

I recently booked a room with two double beds through Expedia. I checked in and went to my room only to discover that the room only had one queen bed. I was traveling with a friend who is handicapped, so I immediately returned to the front desk and explained that my reservation was for two double beds. The hostess insisted the reservation was for one queen bed and wouldn't even look at my phone that showed the reservation was for two double beds. She blamed Expedia and said the hotel was fully booked so we couldn't be moved to another room. My reservation was non-refundable, so I was forced to take the room and sleep on a cot (that they delivered to the room but didn't set up for us) even though I was charged the higher rate for a double room. The dress I was wearing became snagged on one of the springs of the cot while I was setting it up and was torn. Once the cot was set up, there was almost no space left to walk in the room, but my only other alternative would have been to find another hotel and lose what I paid entirely. As for the accommodations, the entire hotel smells very strongly of artificial air fresheners. It was so strong you could taste it, and it gave me a headache within a few minutes. An employee was smoking immediately in front of the entrance even though there are signs posted stating that smoking is prohibited within 25 feet of the entrance. I'm very disappointed in the entire experience and won't be back. 10 out of 10 do not recommend! read more

We have stayed at this comfort inn on and off for 13 years. We haven't stayed in the last couple years but we stayed January 2nd 2026. This hotel has gone down hill so drastically, not clean at all bed's uncomfortable pillow's not worth a dime and the smell of smoke and marijuana was atrocious. Now they house the homeless. I don't begrudge any homeless person a free meal but when we went down for breakfast the dining area was swarming with homeless people. Just touching the whole buffet. Kudos to them for providing a room, a roof over their head, but I don't think paying customers should have to eat their continental breakfast with homeless. The ones I saw were very dirty, touching everything, etc. There could be separate hours for paying customers to eat and the poor homeless to eat. We will not return! Once again I don't begrudge a homeless person a free meal. You never know it could be their last. read more

Room was fine but the carpet was desperately in need of professional cleaning, but more likely requires replacement. Not once did housekeeping clean the room, so had to ask for additional coffee or anything else needed for the room. On the day of checkout and hours before needing to leave, housekeeping just walked into the room, saw the bed was occupied and walked back out - They're required to knock and announce themselves to prevent any breach in privacy. There's a subtle but a noticeable indifference with staff, which was proven on the last day. read more

This hotel is worn, dirty, and poorly stocked. My cards, both of them, failed to work twice, and I had to go to the front desk both times to get them reset. They said it's because I may have put them too close to my cell phone, but I've never had this happen before in many hotels. I don't think these issues are due to the general staff, who were very pleasant. It's a management issue. read more

Wonderful hotel in all honesty. I only stayed a night, but I felt right at home. I would have to say that the staff is extremely friendly, and helpful. They don't just stop at their job, they make conversation with you as well. The staff has a professional way of handling everyone, I hadn't seen them get tense and rude when things got haywire. The hotel itself is clean, the room was spacious and relaxing. The bathroom was rather big too, and well arranged. I hadn't seen a speck of dust anywhere, it was as clean as a whistle. For a cool Massachusetts night, the heat kicked in well--it hadn't been too hot or too cold. I enjoyed watching tv and having a small desk area to do some work before drifting to sleep. As for breakfast, although I did wake up late from a long night of work I still managed to get an adequate amount of food. There were scrambled eggs, many cereals, numerous juices, a waffle station, boiled eggs, coffee, etc. Breakfast was delicious, and the dining area as well. In summation, as I checked out the wonderful staff again greeted me well. I felt happy with this stay, and would recommend it. read more

We were in town for a wedding and had booked a stay in Auburn at the Comfort Inn. We definitely made a great decision. The room we had was well maintained, the lobby and dining area were organized and clean. Breakfast and coffee were available, prompt and as promised. Every employee, whether were at the front desk or cleaning a room always managed a "hello" or "good morning". There's a mall close by and plenty of food options in the neighborhood. The place does appear to get loud at times and boasts paper thin walls. But it's a great value for some very good quality hospitality and lodging. read more

Decent lower end hotel. Nice lobby. Small gym with two machines. However, the walls are like paper and both nights our neighbors were super noisy. First night til around 1-2 am. Lots of issues with this hotel. We chose the hotel due to previous reviews, as well as price and proximity to Worcester, where we attended a concert. We booked a non-smoking room, and confirmed late check in as we expected to arrive around midnight. 1) When we arrived at 11:30, earlier than planned, there were no parking spaces available due to multiple large trucks consuming several spaces in the small parking area. We were hesitant to park in the Staples or Starbucks lots next door, as there were no other cars parked there. We parked in a no parking zone in the hotel lot. We heard the beep beep beep of trucks backing up early in the morning, long before Staples might have opened. Suggestion: make a deal with Staples to allow trucks to park and vacate by 8am. 2) our non-smoking room was NOT, despite the plate nailed to the door. From the moment we stepped off the elevator the putrid smell of smoke permeated the hallway. The smell was in the pillows and mattress. We wore it home. The bag itself and the clothes I never wore from that bag smelled of smoke when I got home today. Suggestion: you are not a smoke free hotel. Either be one, or don't. If you have become one recently, you need to replace everything, including mattresses, pillows, and carpets. 3) you did not respond to multiple calls to the front desk about rowdy, drunk guests PLAYING FRISBEE AND SOCCER IN THE HALL until we threatened to call the police. We went to the same concert as they did. We had a great time too. But we wanted to be asleep at 2am. Despite multiple calls to the desk, the noise ended when my husband finally opened our door and politely asked them to go to their rooms. Suggestion: have a security service or police on call so the poor front desk guy doesn't have to deal with this shit alone or have guests deal with it themselves. Next time, I'll pay the extra $50 for the Hampton Inn. Oh, and we didn't dare eat breakfast. We ate at a The Coffee Mug about a mile away. Great breakfast. read more

Was in town for a wedding. Lobby staff was friendly and the room was reasonably clean. That's it for the positives. As soon as we stepped off the elevator, we noticed a foul odor that wafted throughout the hallway and room. It was as if something had died and they were trying to cover up the smell with an industrial solvent. The stink just wouldn't go away. We didn't have any time, otherwise we would have changed to a different hotel. The carpet in the room was filthy. The windows are screwed shut so you can't open them to get any air into the room. (Isn't this a fire hazard?) You can't regulate the heat / AC - it's just "on." The traffic noise from the adjacent highway is crazy. The walls are paper thin. It was impossible to rest. I really can't endorse this place and would not stay here again. read more

There was a dent in the wall like someone punched it, the window frameless broken, the phone didn't work, one of the remotes didn't work. The water either can't keep pressure or can't stay hot. We've stayed in this hotel several times and won't be doing so again. I think each time it gets worse. read more

The costs of Hotels in the Boston area are more like New York or San Francisco than, say, Chicago-which is bad enough! The trick is to find lodging 60 minutes out and use the commuter trains. The Comfort Inn in Auburn is such a place, with the bonus that the room we had was pristine, the breakfast choices plentiful, accessibility off of the highway convenient and the cost very reasonable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our bathtub was missing its plug, and maintenance brought the plug with a small gift bag of snacks "for the inconvenience"! read more

A great place to stay! My family recently stayed at this Comfort Inn in Auburn while attending Senior Award Ceremonies and Graduation Ceremonies at the College of the Holy Cross. The room was clean, prepared and ready for us when we arrived. The WIFI was fast, and all that you would expect of a room was in perfect condition. Now for the best part, the pace and the scheduling of the schools events made us move quickly in the morning at check out time, and of course we left a small bag behind. We did not notice the bag was missing until we got home and began unpacking. After a call to the hotel and speaking to Gloria Perez it was clear she knew exactly what to do and quickly located the bag, checked its contents and verified all was in order. Thank you Gloria! Gloria then put me in touch with the general manager Brian McNally who promptly agreed to go out of his way to have the bag shipped back to us. These two exemplary employees are the reason we highly recommend this Comfort Inn. In some other circumstances the result would have been very different. DON'T STAY HERE ! I've stayed here MANY times over the years, in particular, a half-dozen times in the last few weeks. 3 times in the last few weeks I had to evacuate their hotel because of their faulty fire alarms system. Twice this occurred in the middle of the night, once in the last evening. In talking to the fire department which was visiting this property yet again, I asked, "Aren't you tired of coming down here for yet another false alarm ?" The fireman answered, "Long ago." Upon complaining to the local management, there was marked indifference. Big deal ! They offered 10% off my stay. Take my advice, stay at the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express right down the road and get yourself a good night's sleep. read more

We went back home for thanksgiving and decided to stay here for the price and location. Staff was very professional. They had cookies and hot apple cider at the front counter for guests which was a nice gesture. Our room was nice, although we found that the toilet seat was loose and the toilet itself rocked when,you sat on it. We did make them aware of this when,we left. The room was clean and well maintained otherwise. Not sure if hotel was full but didnt appear to be and we had people directly above us and noticed that the space between ceiling and floors are not sound deadening so heavy walkers sounded louder than normal. The continental breakfast was well supplied and there was a wide assortment of food including hars boiled eggs and Belgium waffle maker. We would recommend this location as it is close to the major highways including the mass pike and 290 along with the auburn mall across the street. read more

We stayed here for one night recently. When we checked in it was a bit crazy because there was only one employee working behind the desk and he was doing several things at once. He even forgot to have me sign the necessary paperwork. Our room was on the first floor and I regret not specifying that I wanted to a quiet room when making the reservation. Our room happened to be next to one of the exit doors. I could hear people coming in and out of it all night. Also, as some other people have mentioned, the walls are paper thin. I could hear people talking and even heard one person getting sick. I hope he/she was ok. When I went to use the bathroom sink and turned on the hot water, it sounded like a street drill. Apparently there was something wrong with the pipes. The next morning we woke up early to take advantage of the free "hot" continental breakfast. The breakfast only consisted of yogurt, cereal, toast, pastries and waffles. There was a sign in the breakfast area that notified guests that no scrambled eggs or meat was available. I guess someone underestimated the amount of food that needed to be ordered. I've stayed in many Comfort Inns and this is by far one of the worst ones I've stayed at. read more
