Safe for mother daughter travelers! Great service. Room was fantastic. Slept great. Would totally come back again! Heated pool. Hot breakfast. Great location.

Comfort Inn = Quality Inn. Look for the Quality Inn sign! This threw me for a loop for a second. Hotel is up on a hill in Big Stone Gap. Lovely views and there is a Huddle House next door. Very sweet and clean county town hotel. Woodsy and outdoors themed. Staff is warm and welcoming. Best part is there was an friendly outdoor cat. 10/10 would recommend, but the cat just made it even better.

Such a clean room, and comfy.

So clean, beautiful place. Lobby is great, I wish I had taken a picture of it. Microwave, fridge, tv and tv remote, and all the appliances work. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Barbara was great, she look up lumber places for us. We bought a house in Virginia and looking for the local businesses. Absolutely recommend it.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the worst hotel stay I ever had. The place smells like smoke, and the walls are so thin. I was up all night dealing with the loud noise from the plumbing and the guest upstairs walking! I hate it here! For the 175 per night I'm miserable. I'm calling customer service as soon as they open! I hope I don't take bed bugs home!

The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Furniture and furnishings were top notch. And on top of all of that the view was incredible. 10/10

I have traveled to VA 3x this year and each time I stood at the Comfort Inn it was amazing!! My latest stay here was just this past weekend. Such great hospitality. The hotel is so clean and welcoming, I love it!! This is definitely the best hotel I have ever stayed in, the beds here are more comfortable than mine at home. They have upgraded the WIFI service so it works perfectly now. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the manager Wesley, made my stay this past weekend the most amazing!! He surprised me with an upgrade on my room, so I got to relax each night in a warm Jacuzzi. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Definitely 5 star in my book and highly recommended.

Private sole hotel brand…read more I arrived in for an early check in and I found that this hotel was located in a residential part of the city. There are not too many restaurants, if any, lots of houses, a church, etc. The entrance is only on one side. If one were to drive in according to the "Maps" app, it will take you to the one road (this is the only road to access Benham). Trust me, I tried the road next to it thinking that was a way to the back parking lot and I was already on someone's property (thinking I was going to get threatened or shot) Anyway, the entrance on the one road that the "MAPS" app leaves you on is on the left and there are four spots for registration only parking. The rest are behind the hotel, which one will have to take what looks like an impassable entrance to get there. This needs to be fixed because it is a liability on the hotel if a customer scratches their car against the wall, on the turn. Issues with room: Some other things I noticed were that the door to the hotel room reflexes to closed, which means you need to push it a bit more than a usual hotel door and while carrying luggage in, it could become an issue. There were a lack of outlets I found in the room. The outlets I did find were in inconvenient places like near the t.v., at ground level and near the sink. One will not be able to work on their laptop in this kind of setup. There is no elevator in this place. One will have to carry their luggage up the stairs. The walls are paper thin. I could hear a gal and guy next door to my room. I could not hear what they were actual saying, BUT could here them speaking something. From the atmosphere, I love the couches in the hallway. I had a chance to sit in one of the comfy chairs. Overall, the concept of a schoolhouse is great, but it needs to be more modernized in terms of hotel standards (elevator, widened entrance to the back parking lot.) Requested items: If you need an iron and iron board, you will have to request this at the registration desk (on your left when you enter this hotel). If you want to inquire about complimentary snacks, you will have to request this. They do have free snacks and so one can skip the vending machines. I ended up spending a $1 because I thought that was all they had. They also have a carbonated beverage vending machine as well (all I survived on while here was Great Value Glacier Ranch chips, Yoplait yogurt, water, and trail mix for dinner. In the morning, I ate Cinnamon Toast Crunch in an out of a to go container and a honeybun.) Edit: I checked on my cell phone and yes, there are literally no restaurants close to this place (everything is actually in the neighboring city of Cumberland, KY). Bathroom standards: Good ply toilet paper. Thick. Soft, fluffy towels. But bathroom fan is loud and makes grinding noises (room 1942). Suggestions: This hotel could use a business center for guests. And a fun comment...... This hotel is interesting, an old school house turn hotel. I am not sure why they do not have THOSE kind of conventions held here. You know those...non-vanilla relationship ones....SCHOOL HOUSE. ;)

Pretty building, but lacks many simple amenities better hotels have, such as coffee, breakfast,…read moreetc. There is a restaurant but its only open on Fridas and Saturdays. There isn't really a decent restaurant for 20+miles so this lack of dining leaves a lot to be desired. Simple coffee machines in the rooms would be huge. While attempting to eat at the restaurant, I was asked to move my table twice, and then was told they were out of what I ordered. Locals seem to get preference over guests at the hotel. The entire operation is poorly run, and lacks basics. Either do it right or shut it down.

Despite all the excellent reviews on this hotel, my experience was not good. If the Fairfield Inn…read moredid not have some good qualities, I would have given it a one to two star rating. For first time visits to this hotel, I strongly encourage people to closely survey their room and bathroom before settling in for the night. So the hotel seemed stellar at first UNTIL I used the shower in my room. The hotel had great reviews, so I did not think I would have a problem. The front desk check in area and our room were clean & very appealing. I loved the selection of tv shows and movies on our television. We had checked in for a late night stay & just wanted to relax before we traveled out early in the morning. Everything seemed ideal until I took a shower in the morning. I noticed there was human hair from other people in the front and back of my shower area. One was a long light brown hair in the front upper area of the shower stall. One was a short black hair on upper back of the shower wall. I was mortified that housekeeping didn't notice this immediately. It made me wonder if they cleaned the bathroom at all after the former guest before us left. Despite all the wonderful amenities, the unsanitary condition of our bathroom made me dock 2 stars from a 5 star rating. It makes me want to thoroughly survey any room we get at any hotel regardless of the hotel having an excellent rating especially this hotel. Breakfast here was exceptional with many options EXCEPT they started shutting down earlier than the 10 AM closing time & there was NO COFFEE available at 9:30 AM. My husband had to wait for them to make a fresh batch. Despite the great breakfast, I got sick from something I ate on the breakfast provided there which is very rare. I never get sick from food I eat. I wanted to give a one star rating to this hotel yet I decided to be kind yet fair.

Great price and comfy beds with streaming your favorite movies on Netflix…read more Everything was great except a hair in the shower and there was quite a mess waking up at 9:30am to get breakfast. Both coffees were empty and no creamer. We had to ask for more coffee and then ask for creamer. The breakfast caused my wife to get sick, which caused us to make an additional stop to get meds. Some greats and some work to be done. Stay here on a budget but hope for the best on quality. How does the coffee run dry at 9:45am? People are still waking up still. I know that breakfast closes at 10:00am, but some set there alarms to eat something and get a coffee.
