Rooms are clean and well maintained, especially still have smoking rooms. I stay in a smoking room every time and it never smells of cigarettes. It's an older motel, but it's clean and comfortable. And I would much rather stay somewhere that makes me feel welcome, than to just stay somewhere that couldn't care less that I am even there. Give them a call. You won't regret it.

Hotel is clean for the most part but is a hotel and it carries all the disgusting germs of any hotel. But what I like is the cleaning staff is efficient and do a good job of cleaning the rooms. I advise you have your sheets changed after the first night of your stay. Take advantage of the breakfast however if you wake up after 9:00am you gonna miss it, they don't keep it up long. Price is good if you reserve early in advance but try to avoid coming in on the weekend for a last minute stay because you will pay. As always I'll be back, get your reservations in early.

Complained about appliances not working and they said they would fix it...but did not. Dogs barking on night two. Rooms clean, but cigarette holes in comforter. Too bad--this would be a good place but they need to enforce the rules!

Do not rely solely on this review alone because whomever is working the front desk may or may not actually answer the phone. I had to go to this location to make sure my reservation went through. The individual just confirmed that the number was what it was based on the business cards by the desk. 08/31/2025 The guest came in on 08/30/2025 and she was able to stay the night. While getting her settled, we noticed that room 220 did not lock. I am not writing about the lock one can use from the inside (I think there are three locks on hotel doors: the one where one has to put in a card key to open the door, the dead bolt lock that one turns on the inside and the hinge lock that one can put when inside the room). The lock that is triggered by the card key was not working and as a result anyone could just open the door and walk right in, without even putting a card. The front desk individual who was working 7-10 p.m. was able to switch her out into another room on the third floor 320. No issues there. The hotel does look like it needs to reprint the fire exit by stairway directions because the lettering is worn away (outside the elevator, to the left on the third floor). Room 220 has white stains on the carpet and noticeable marks on the walls and fridge. I had been to another Sleep Inn in Owensboro and this definitely was not at that standard. For safety hazards at this hotel, I am giving this hotel a two star.

I usually do a king suite and the bed is super comfortable. It's walking distance to a lot of amazing restaurants and coffee shops. They have a fire pit outside with chairs and some swings. The landscaping is really pretty too. I personally like a "charming" and unique hotel. There's only 3 floors and sometimes the floorboards creak but that's what makes it so appealing.

It's been recently remodeled so it's nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. Know that some of the rooms have a balcony and others don't so if that is important to you, you need to ask when you check in. Also know that there are plenty of restaurants nearby, including a Malones across the street so you definitely won't go hungry. Staff is friendly although I didn't interact too much given I checked in on my phone. It's my "go to" hotel when staying in the area.

The beds are comfortable and so are the pillows (and I am someone who travels w their own pillow)! Sheets are true cotton and clean- I can smell the freshness and feel it too. The hotel name is actually Home Place Inn, and there is not a lit sign in front of the hotel. It is not been a Super Eight for least six years. The reception area is fairly small. The check-in lady was very pleasant and explained the usual things. The breakfast area is in the small lobby, so I imagine many people carry their food to their rooms which inevitably leads to some spills on the stairwell and on the room carpeting. The hotel itself is about 30 years old, but many of the rooms, but not all, have been refurbished. My bathroom appeared to be a few years old, but much better than expected from the new tub, fresh paint job on the walls, and a new hairdryer on the wall. The linens are clean and in good shape, but the bedspread left a little to be desired. The hotel was mostly full this Friday night, and it was quiet. The rooms were not soundproof. The building was in very good shape with entrances only through either end of the hotel and the main lobby via keyed entrances. The breakfast itself was disappointing. There is really nothing besides coffee and some bagels - no juice, no cereal, no donuts, no fruit. No frills, but walking distance from shopping and places to get some food. There is a mixture of smoking and non-smoking rooms, so there is a slight smoke smell in the hallways. A place to rest for low cost, nothing more.

However there was one major item missing in the room - no microwave. When I'm traveling, I frequently have leftovers from a meal out that I want to heat up later, so a microwave is close to being an essential. Frankly I can't recall the last time I was in a hotel that didn't have the microwave in the room. They have one restaurant for the entire Hotel and the one time we wanted to eat, it was closed. There are no decent restaurants nearby so we had to eat at a sports bar across the street. We did order room service one time and it came up promptly. The prices were not bad and the food was pretty good. The TV reception which is frequently a problem in hotels was very good at the Hyatt and they had a decent selection of options for the channels but you had to search for an online channel guide because they didn't have a printed one in the room. The shower stall is huge and has a beautiful full-length glass door but the water pressure is only so-so. The last day of our stay, I had to wait 4 or 5 minutes for hot water which was very disappointing. All in all, my first stay here was okay but I expected far more from a Hyatt Regency. If it were not attached to Lexington's main Conference Center, I would probably look for another option next visit.
