Checked in about 8pm. Room was suitable for three or four guests with a standard queen bed and a pull out sleeper sofa. The sleeper sofa was not a great experience. The mattress was thin and I could feel the springs when lying down. It wasn't terrible for me as an average sized person (125 pounds) but a heavier guest would likely find it extremely uncomfortable. The shower had pump bottles instead of individually sealed bottle. My mom refused to use them, as she found it unsanitary and unsafe; the bottles cab be opened by staff and previous guests and there is no guarantee of the contents. The one with body wash was almost empty so they are not filled between guests. The AC worked, as did the TV. There was a ceiling fan over the sleeper bed, which was nice and kept that area comfortable. There were two bath towels provided. The room had no clock. Breakfast was spartan. Nothing hot, just the basics, no issues. Overall, the room was fine for an overnight stay but at 150.00/night after tax, definitely expected more. read more

The owners are as cold and unwelcoming as the room I walked into. When calling three times to tell them I'd regrettably be checking in later than planned, I was assured it was fine and reservation was held... but upon arrival I was informed that they had marked the room as a no show and they refused to let my dogs and i check in unless I paid for another night... and insisted that it had to be in cash instead of my plentiful Delta rewards points as used for the initial night. Their excuse for breakfast is very minimal and subpar compared to the other hotels I've frequented in the area and they have obnoxious signs posted everywhere saying you must eat in the lobby and not take food back to the room?!? The indoor pool was closed for renovation and not disclosed when booking . The one onsight W/D was outdated and didn't even get my clothes clean or dried after running a regular size load through 2 full cycles. Review for Baymont by Wyndham Winchester We made last-minute plans to attend the Railbird Festival in Lexington, KY at Red Mile. Hotels near the event were sold out, and the few that we found were outrageously priced. As a result, we ended up booking a room 22 miles away from the venue at Baymont by Wyndham Winchester. After reading the reviews, my friend was super concerned about staying here, but if we tried to find another hotel, we would have been pushed out about an hour away from the venue. We arrived at about 10 PM and were warmly greeted and checked in by the evening staff. Subsequently, Mike, the manager, found us and made sure we were comfortable and settled in. They even loaned us a wine opener as I had forgotten mine. Please keep in mind, this is a value-driven hotel. It's nothing fancy and yes, it needs updates, some new cohesive decor, and replacement windows at the indoor pool. However, if you can look past that and really pay attention to detail, this place is clean. Perfect example: when you come in through the back entrance and take the stairs to the 2nd level, pay attention to the carpet along the edge of the stairs. Why? Because it is clean and typically dirt builds up along the carpet at the edge of walls because it's difficult to clean those areas with a vacuum. Also, take a look at the baseboards, windows, metal frames around windows--they do not have build-up on them. As you are gathering up your continental breakfast and looking out the window, note how clean the metal frame is around the window. I observed them cleaning every surface in the breakfast area, cabinets, etc., after breakfast was over. Our room was clean, our sheets were crisp, and there was no build-up in the bathroom. Nothing fancy, but I would stay here again because it was clean with no odor. Based on the cleanliness and friendliness, I am giving them 3.5 stars. Note: This hotel does not have an elevator, so don't complain if you need one. Also, during sold-out events, don't expect to get late checkouts, especially when all hotels an hour and a half out were booked solid. read more

The indoor pool was freezing. The floors around the pool were slippery so the kids kept falling getting out of the pool. We had a total of 4 rooms rented for our family and there was something wrong with each one - blown out light bulbs, hair dryers not working, dirty bed sheets, non-working air conditioners. I have stayed at a lot of Baymont hotels in the last 5 years but this one is the worst one yet! Me and my wife were in town for a festival and the Hospital called me to tell me my sister was there and was in a terrible accident! So we packed up from the festival early and stopped by here so my wife could explain that we had an emergency and we had to cancel our reservation! The front desk person was so rude to my wife along with the owner! They said they didn't care if she died they were going to charge us for the room! Well I am furious and will never stay at this DUMP again, yes I stayed here 2 years ago while they were drilling and working on the place, it was a mess then and now! This hotel was on my corporate page to stay locally in Winchester Kentucky. Are usually stay at the Baymont because they're typically friendly clean and safe. When I got to the hotel the clerk informed me that the pool was closed. tells me there will be no food in the morning and it looked in the lobby like they were either under construction orFalling apart. When I go to the room and it looked OK until I started looking closer and it's seemingly not clean, things in the shower wall, and what looks to be like blood in the bed. Don't give this hotel your business as the General Manager here is rude, full of lies, and has a book full of excuses for any problem you mention. First off, don't expect to get the room you reserved. For example, if you reserve a king non-smoking, you'll probably get a double bed smoking room. The General Manager's response? If you don't like it, go elsewhere. Second, ignore the amenities list on their website as it is made up of false advertising. It states hair dryer and alarm clock in all rooms and our room didn't have either one. When I mentioned it, the front desk clerk had no clue. Lastly, if you want breakfast, plan on going out and buying your own. The only thing you'll get is a bag of pretzels and potato skins. Last I checked, most people don't eat snack chips for breakfast. This hotel is an absolute disgrace to the Wyndham brand! read more

This is a good location off the interstate. The room was very large and comfortable. This is a non-smoking and pet friendly facility. There is a small indoor pool and everyone is polite and friendly. The breakfast is adequate, I mean really, biscuits and gravy, eggs, waffles and yogurt, do you really need anything else? At 20% less than the other prices in the area, it is an exceptional deal. read more

The staff and Front Desk Manager were very friendly and exceptionally helpful on May 11th, 2018. We showed up twenty minutes early and the manager adjusted our rate and gave us a discount, because our room was 15 minutes from being ready and we were very understanding. He offered us a beverage on the house as well. The second shift front desk attendant went out of her to help us find the perfect restaurant for our stay as well. We really enjoyed our stay stay there and it really made our last day of our honeymoon special. Thank you and we hope to visit this location again or another location in the future. read more

I rented the room was there and checked the filers, not clean, there was a cockroach and I took pics wrote a letter to the general manager. Let the front desk know and she kept calling the owner. I called corporate as she said we had 15 minutes to get out, as I drove 5.5 hours from Ohio. ( I am handicapped as well) I let her know we were packing and she said that she saw 2 kids were out in the hallway and I said so they are teens and I'm on the phone with corporate. I returned the keys and she said now you have 2 minutes to get in your car and off property or I am calling the police. I said first of all, you put my room in the back, my car is in the back- and there are steps! Which I have to walk all the way in the back and down the steps! So call them! I was heated! My daughter gave her some words as well! My daughter had to help me walk! Very rude customer service! I even asked for the general managers card and she wouldn't give me one or his name. I worked at hotels before house keeping , front desk and filled in for Management- and I can honestly say this place is poorly run, and rips you off. I had to also call my bank, to let them know what was going on, and to open a case on the charges made - since the hotel lied and said they wouldn't charge me and did, as well to get a temporary refund; they did an investigation as well as Baymont Corporation. I have stayed there before and had no problems, must be under new ownership and new employees! Will never go there again! Winchester really has no quality run hotels, except Holiday Inn. They are clean and friendly! I am a huge fan of Hampton Inns in Lexington, - there's more things to do in that town! read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! We were in town for a family reunion and the entire extended family booked rooms here. When we arrived, we found out that our rooms were on the second floor. (with no elevator!) After hauling our bags up, we opened the doors to find stuffy, hot, humid rooms. The air conditioning was turned off and we had to turn it on ourselves to cool the room down. (No problem- we started to do this) Unfortunately, in one of our rooms the air conditioner wouldn't even turn on. (And the unit was so outdated, you couldn't read the buttons/knobs) In our other room it came on, but no cool air came out. The room was FILITHY and I wasn't comfortable taking off my shoes or letting my child sit on the couch. (I'm not even going to start on the bathroom!) We decided that we needed to find another hotel immediately- and checked right back out. (Hauling our luggage back downstairs!) Other family members that ended up spending the night had similar experiences; one person had to switch rooms three times to find a room that was acceptable, one family checked EARLY the next morning because they found bedbugs, another family member didn't have a working lock on their door. Bottom line- They need to make some MAJOR changes before anyone should consider staying here again! read more

The accommodations are dated and customer service is in line with the price. The parking lot is like a truck stop, with big rigs running all night outside of your window. There is no elevator and they do not inform you upon booking. When switching to a first floor room they tried to charge and higher room rate, until we complained. Guest walking around with no shirts and truckers drinking in the parking lot sums up this hotel. I would say the management is bad, and I would not recommend staying here. I booked this hotel by accident on February 21st, for my birthday that was coming up on February 23rd through Expedia. I booked the king deluxe suite. I thought it would be too much of a hassle to go through the refund process and the Lexington location did not have this kind of room. Fast forward we checked into the room after a deposit issue. Three times throughout the night into the early morning I asked a tall Caucasian man who was wearing a plaid shirt, at this moment I can not recall his name, but I will ask my friend he was flirting with to give me his name. So as I stated we were promised late check out. The microwave also did not work in the room but it was replaced b the microwave in one of my friends rooms. The front desk asked if they should put the broken microwave in my friends room, we were like why ITS BROKEN! Fast forward to 11am the next morning. Housekeeping burst in our room while we were still sleep and states that its checkout time. I explained that we were promised late checkout, the house keeper rudely says well no one told us and we have already rebooked the room! How can you rebook a room someone is still in? What if we wanted to rebook the room for that day as well? So we get our things and at this point I am ready to speak with the manager. So as I am going down the hall I state to my friends that I will be writing a review and contacting corporate on this issue. I couldn't even get around the corner good at the front desk before I was verbally attacked by the man at the front desk who had the worst attitude so I ask to speak with the manager, the manager comes flying out the back room, picks up the phone and yells at us to leave. Mind you we have not said a word besides we were promised late checkout, we were not rude nor disrespectful. The manager refused to give me his name and he yells LEAVE and picks up the phone to call the authorities. At this point my friends and I are very shocked being that we did nothing wrong. We even asked if he could roll back the cameras. We were racially profiled. I know this because I am a student pursuing my bachelors degree in criminal justice. I know the law and I know when I have been unfairly treated and discriminated against. The police even stated that I should contact my lawyer and the corporate office. I have stayed at numerous hotels all over the world in my short 28 years of living and I have NEVER been treated like this a day in my life. This hotel staff should not be involved in ANY type of customer service involving speaking or interacting with people. I am appalled and disgusted! All I was trying to ask about was my late checkout and let them know that I was PROMISED 3 separate times that I would receive late checkout. Never would I imagine that what was suppose to be a joyous occasion turned into a NIGHTMARE! I want to personally thank them for ruining my special weekend! Do not stay here. I attempted to book a room online and was given an error message the system was down call the 800# to book. I never called the number and wound up booking with a different hotel. Baymont charged me anyway first stating I had checked in and then changing the story to I never checked in and didn't give them 24 hours notice to cancel which means I get charged for the room. They spoke broken English so communication was difficult. They were not interested in the issue I had and even insinuated I was lying about the error message. They were rude and condescending.
