I came to this store hoping to find a quality shoe that could support long hours at work. Mission accomplished! They have a nice selection of shoes from sneakers, to sandals, all the way to orthotics. They have a large range of sizes and measured my feet to ensure I had the right size. The shoes are pricey, but you get what you pay for. Trust me, it's worth it! Spend the money! The service unfortunately left something to be desired. It took a long time to even be greeted by the salesperson. When the gentlemen did help, there was a major difference in how I was serviced versus the previous client. I felt like my presence was annoying despite knowing exactly what I wanted. When you plan on spending $200 on shoes, service matters. The overall goal was accomplished, I received a quality shoe. We went here to buy shoes for my daughter, who developed a Morton's neuroma. As a 19 year old, she was worried about finding something to her taste. Much to her surprise, she found comfortable, stylish loafers that were exactly what she was looking for. As a healthcare worker, I was also impressed with the selection. They had everything from trendy sandals and clogs to stable oxfords in a variety of brands and finishes for us to try. They also told us of their sister store in Herndon with an even larger selection of Birkenstocks, sweet news to the college girl. The service was also incredible. They helped us with styles, sizing and brands that would be better for each of our particular foot issues. They spent time with each of us, ensuring a proper fit. The pricing was about what you would expect for the products we selected. Personally, I find walking without pain worth paying more, plus the shoes are built well and last! They were expensive, but we were lucky that one pair was on sale. That saved enough on our bill to buy her the newsboy cap she had been looking for! Unbelievable customer service. Kudos to manager, John. I purchased an ON running shoes last year from this store and one of the soles came off after minimal use. Not expecting a resolution I took the shoes back to this store. To my surprise, manager, John, with no hesitation and questions replaced the shoes with new pair , even allowing me to upgrade to more pricey but more liked model. I believe this store represents the zenith of customer service. They also ensured that I will be coming back for more business. Very smart! Would have loved to purchase these pricey shoes in person and support bricks and mortar store but had to go online. Went shopping for shoes with my husband and came upon this shop. The shoes and hats were appealing to me, but the costumer service was nonexistent. The woman that was in before me was being very well taken care of, but no one came back to help us. As an older woman with health problems i would have thought that this place would have been the perfect fit for me, as it is difficult to find stylish shoes that I can actually wear. I had such an amazing shoe shopping experience here. I have horrible feet, need custom orthotics in my shoes, and was 7 months pregnant (with swelling) when I came in to find warm winter shoes that were hopefully not ugly. The sales associate listen to all of my requirements and had me sit down and then brought out about 12-15 different shoe that would work for my situation. I loved this one pair, but they seemed a bit too tight - he took them out back to stretch them, and low and behold - I was able to walk home with a warm, stylish pair of boots that fit my feet and my orthodicts! Jon was terrific!! I've had great difficulty for over 50 years getting shoes that feel good and work for me. I went in looking for a replacement for my SAS gray walking shoes. Disappointment: they don't carry SAS. Well, Jon picked right up and offered to show me what they had in my size in a good walking type shoe. He began by carefully measuring both feet -- shocked to find my right foot is a bit larger than the left, so it was the driver in the various shoes tried. Since I use orthotics it was a time consuming exercise! I must have gone through a dozen pairs. The rejects were numerous: toe box too small, little toe hurt, heel too wide, too narrow, too tall...well one pair fit the bill. It was also on sale 40% off -- so much the better! The shoes are not cheap, but the quality is excellent. I was just lucky that a sale priced pair worked best! It's worth it entirely!! Jon was courteous, very helpful, and very pleasant throughout this experience (about an hour). Highly recommend! They also had a wide selection of spring shoes/sandals, but will have to return to check those out. read more

The staff here are great - very friendly and helpful - which is good as some of the prices definitely not wallet friendly. The shoes are definitely quality though both in construction and materials. They'll last you a long time which offsets the increase you might pay over a discount shoe store. Definitely go here if you really want service finding the right shoe for whatever activity or if you have particular foot issues and can really make use of the special assistance a knowledgeable shoe salesman can provide. Sad to see them stop carrying Vibrams. But the gentleman there when I last stopped in was kind enough to point me to REI down the street for what I was looking for. Now that is customer service and its the customer service that keeps me coming back here for footwear. read more

I hate shoes. Maybe it's because it is not easy to find shoes that fit me, but I think it's mostly because I just hate shoes. For the majority of my life I had one pair at a time, all worn down to slip on and off my wide feet without so much as tying a lace.Typically I would keep these shoes until they literally fell apart and no longer functioned. This store was not a place I wanted to shop. This store was one I actively avoided. A store devoted to shoes? What kind of hell is this? But I broke down and visited when the last of my ratty shoes gave out. Finding replacements was a necessity and I knew I'd have to face the torment of shoe shopping, the perilous journey toward fast approaching disappointment and ultimate anger (why can't I be barefoot all the time?). Turns out the overly friendly folks who work here? They're really good at finding things that fit me. They also succeed where NO ONE succeeded for years: they found shoes I don't hate to wear. YES, I spent more on my first pair of shoes here than the total I'd spent in the previous decade. But I also bought $20 tennis shoes and wore them as my only shoes for up to three years at a time. I'd keep them with tears and holes and split soles. Because I hate shoe shopping. The prices here are high but it's worth getting something that fits well. And here's something crazy: for the past three years I've had MORE THAN ONE PAIR OF SHOES at any given time. I've still not exceeded three different pairs at once, but that's still a huge change for me. My only complaint is that my favorite shoe ever (which I bought here) is no longer manufactured. Now I'm learning that if something is comfy, it's worth getting a couple pairs to have as a reserve. I don't really rotate shoes and I systematically destroy them with the amount of wear I put on from travel, so I it's good to keep a few around. If you want excellent service and a solid shoe (especially if most stores don't carry shoes that fit you) I recommend this small but excellent shop. You pay for what you get, and if you've got difficult feet to fit, this is a wonderful place to shop. read more

I had such a great experience here today. I just found out that I have planter fasciitis And needed to find some very specialized shoes that weren't too ugly.... Reggie was so helpful! He helped me find some very cute (but supportive) sandals, inserts for my shoes and some casual shoes. They have so many styles for men and women. Yes, they carry good quality (not cheap) shoes, but if you have foot issues or just want extremely comfortable shoes, this is THE place to go. I've never been inspired to write a review about a shoe company until now. I have been a frequent wearer of Danskos (also called Sanitas now) and after 8 years the leather finally gave way (the sole is still good!). Yes Danskos are not very pretty but a staple in the medical field and it just feels like you are not wearing shoes. Any other shoe has been fairly painful or uncomfortable for me and I've tried maybe 2-3 shoes a year, most end up getting donated. I went on the weekend and there were two salesmen who were working with 1-2 people each. I was a little worried because the shop was kind of small. It seems like everyone was really pleased and some repeat customers. I told the salesman what I was looking for and he measured my feet and disappeared for a little and brought out 5 pairs of shoes and talked about each of them. Since he was also helping someone else out I had time to try on each shoe and walk around in it. They were all very comfortable. Each had increasingly better style which I had requested. I ended up with an Earthie flat that had good arch support and was still roomy in the toe and not a clog. The shoes are not cheap ($100-300+) but really comparable to what is found online. I really do expect the shoe to last many years, although I'm not sure it will get to 8 years like my Danskos. I actually want to go back to get another pair of shoes as the weather is getting cooler. I'm hoping they send out some coupons or sales in their email listing. If you've thought about the comfort of your feet and know that you will be spending a decent amount of money I don't think this store can be beat in quality and service. I can not praise Jon enough! Overall the best treatment and service from him. I will definitely be returning here in the future to get shoes from him. About my feet needs. I have given birth recently and my foot size has changed drastically. I had actually come to the same store and went to a different sales person who gave me the wrong size. It turns out I really went two sizes up. Jon was meticulous and knowledgeable. He figured out exactly what size I needed. He also discovered the my toe protruded higher than my other toe and he physically maneuvered the shoe to accommodate this. I walked in with another shoe on hand to return. I was afraid that the store wouldn't accept it. But when I walked in and told him I needed to exchange or return the shoe he just set it aside and looked for the correct size. He treated me with the utmost respect and courtesy. He is very knowledgeable about shoes and very funny and personable. Most of all, he you can tell he genuinely is there to help you find foot that are comfortable. He is not there to simply work. When you walk in you can rest assures you're in good hands with Jon. I had a great experience at Comfort One in Fairfax Corner. I wanted a pair of comfortable walking shoes. The gentleman who assisted me was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He measured my feet then brought out 4 suggested models for me to try. He explained the differences between them and listened to my concerns. These are for treadmill use only. I walked out with exactly what I went in to get. He wore a mask the whole time and even had the door open for fresh air. I'll definitely go back for my next pair of walking or running shoes. I have always bought mid-range to cheap shoes. After taking my dog for a walk in my old Asics, the next morning my knee was hurting. I attributed this to my unsupportive, worn-out shoe. I decided to make an investment and go to Comfort One. I had heard good things from my dad who went there for dress shoes and came out with shoes and orthotics and feeling good. Jon was the salesman. He was low pressure, tested my foot, asked me what I wanted, gave me three or four choices. Didn't try to sell me on any particular one, just told me the benefits of each. I ended up spending about $130 on dog walking shoes. Yes, that's more than I've ever paid ever for a pair of shoes. They are comfortable, and fit my needs/comfort requirements very well. Hence, the investment. The shoes there basically start at $100. There was a clearance, so there were good deals. Otherwise, bring money. Not a HUGE selection of athletic shoes, but for mens dress shoes, there's plenty. Lots of ladies styles too, but definitely more boutique style than DSW style. Minus one star for a lack of coupons and real sale items (other than year-end clearance). Honestly though, you'd pay $130+ for a pair of Jordans. Just go here and get something comfortable and practical. And ask for Jon. read more

I had an excellent experience in this store tonight. Jon C. was the only salesman in the shop and did a terrific job of juggling all the customers. On top of that, I'm a tough case as I have problems with both my feet and knees and need extremely supportive shoes, but don't want to buy shoes that my grandmother would wear. Add to that a limited budget and you've got one tough customer. But, Jon handled it like a pro. After measuring my feet and asking about any special needs, he must have brought me over a dozen pair of shoes to try on. With each new stack of boxes, he listened to my feedback and went back to try to find a new stack that would better fit my needs. Awesome. He was just awesome. Finally settled on the Sanita clogs and couldn't be happier. Jon also took a look at the shoes I wore into the store. He did a foot scan on their in-store computer. He then made some recommendations about inserts and said I really needed to replace the shoes entirely. He was probably right--had those running shoes for too long. It is so refreshing independent retailers still exist that place a value on brand and customer service. They took time to explore options and try on many shoes before I made my selection.
