So I thought if I booked a hotel in Oakbrook Terrace it would be a safe establishment for a single woman traveling alone. Not so! This hotel is in need of obvious repairs but I'm going to focus on feeling secure. My room door locks weren't aligned and the outside doors did not have working locks. Parking my car in the lot was scary because I could hear voices from the 3rd floor and the smell of weed present. Not sure if I should be concerned about the people outside or the people inside the hotel. Paper taped over light sensors, broken ironing board, ice machine broken on 2nd floor. Awful breakfast mostly workers eating. The address is Oakbrook Terrace but don't let the address fool you!!!

I am writing to formally request an immediate refund for my stay at Comfort Suites in Villa Park due to the extremely unsanitary and unacceptable conditions I encountered. Upon checking into my room, I was appalled to find multiple health and cleanliness violations, including: * Bugs throughout the room * Stained furniture, carpet and bedding * Sticky residue on the walls * Disgusting smells and cigarette smell * Water dripping from the ceiling of mold and onto the floor This level of filth is entirely unacceptable and poses serious health risks. I immediately brought these concerns to the front desk, but no adequate resolution was provided. Due to the unsanitary conditions, I was forced to leave and seek alternative accommodations. Given the severity of these issues, I demand a full and immediate refund. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint to corporate management, health authorities, and online review platforms. Please process my refund as soon as possible and confirm via email. I expect a response within 24 hours. Booking on Nov. 15-17 2024 Booked through hotels.com We had one room and switched to another. No offer of another room. The manager never called back. This is such a stressing and under duress situation this caused for my family. I booked your hotel to be close for my daughter's theater performances for the weekend.

I've patronized this establishment a few times. I've never had an issue any time I've ever been here. Front desk is always very courteous. Their suites are really clean and tidy. I do enjoy the fact that they have free breakfast from 6 to 9 in the morning with eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, yogurt, and fresh fruit you name it for the price of their suites this hotel is a good deal. they also have a pool on the lower level of the hotel. I've never been but I have yet to get there. The times that I've been here before they used to have a deposit of $50 now they've raised it to 100 so that's just something to be aware of for some people that may wanna come here just to let them know.

    stains on couch

absolutely disgusting, rooms do NOT look like what they appear online. The pictures used online must've been from the first day this place was ever opened because the rooms are stained everywhere. Our toilet was broken in our first room, so they had to switch over to what they called an "upgrade" if anything it was even more disgusting. Bathrooms are disgusting and our tub drain was filled with hair. There was no hand soap in our bathroom. The water from the sink tastes like iron. There are windows by the front door so if open you can see into others rooms. The ceilings have black areas on them. The double doors that close off the beds from the couch room don't close properly and are an inch off the ground, ours even had a spring popping out of the top of the door. Mysterious stains on the curtains.

Alex is very authoritative and extremely rude. This is our 4th stay here at this hotel and we've loved it the first 3 times but not anymore. The other guy on the night shift is super awesome but unfortunately don't recall his name. Hopefully management digs into this. I'll also be writing to corporate as well. Unacceptable customer service overall.

they don't deserve any stars i had to give that just to write a review do not stay at this hotel.... i was there on march 5th 2022 & one of my family members were bitten by a bed bug ... they asked if we wanted them to change the linen when i called to the front desk... my family & i immediately checked out at 1:45am the manager mo & general manager are taking the bed bug situation lightly & don't care & act like this is normal for them .. they claimed the pest control came out & found nothing. sooooooo that means there could be a potential bedbug infestation since they "didn't find anything" but there was clearly a bed bug there .. comfort suites inn in oakbrook terrace

The manager MO incredibly rude. Kicked me the person who paid out without telling me put his head down at the computer ignored everything I said. They had roaches, mold, and no pool. They clamim it flooded by reading other comments that's not what I believe because they have said many different storys. Also a man walked in on me feeding my infant daughter and they did nothing but call the room ask my name and hang up no apology or anything. The room had so many damages it wasn't a joke. I have pictures, videos, everything on top of the Gm saying he would not do anything at all also he is never there and if you call his work number they tell you to call he says in the voice mail that he will never hear it. Poorly ran. We also weren't the only people complaining about someone walking in on us. Many other guest did too. I have videos of the whole 30 minute encounter.

It was... disappointing and NOTHING like the real Drake…read more Honestly, upon arriving and seeing the place up close, I decided to leave and not stay after all. I can see where they are trying to go, but it's not there. The place is in disrepair if you pay attention at all (cracks, holes, chipped paint), a crappy elevator, there's even random crap thrown in a corner still in view of guest. If you want to be taken seriously, then handle all the stuff no one sees that isn't sexy, rather than just putting lipstick on a pig. There's no consistent theme. It's like 5 different people walked through a 2nd hand store in a rush, with no other options, so each picked what they found in their scavenger hunt and then threw it all together. It's a big space. The staff was great and welcoming. Seriously, they were solid. The place is a 2 star, but staff is worth another star. It just felt like coming to visit my aunt who doesn't get a lot of visitors so she threw everything in a closet knowing guest are coming over. We all have to ignore the smell and everything else. The stuff on the walls makes sense to her as they are her memories, but there's no theme other than her history, so none of it makes sense to anyone else. It's just awkward. The reason this place isn't booming is 100% on the owner. They are trying to look bougie, while ignoring real issues, and clearly in way over their head attempting to do way too much with too little. They need to take a loan or get an investor and make this place amazing. It could be, but it's not. Then again, not sure if the place they dream of could survive in that area as the prices would need to double and the area may not be willing to pay. Potential investors may have said the same. I see the vision, but also see the reality, which just frustrated me as there was conflict around every corner. Also, the bar closes early at like 8 or 9pm. Additionally the upgraded rooms with "garden view" are anything but. The actual room is good. The detached building however looks like it was a nursing home that's never been changed or upgraded; at least on the outside and entrance. When you walk in the front door of said nursing home, it SMELLS like a nursing home. It was strong and not in a good way. When you are in your room and look outside at the "garden view", it's a crappy 1/2 wall that appears to have been designed and built as a favor by a drunk uncle who was in a rush. It's very small and insignificant. It's an eye sore, but the "garden" is actually just the back yard looking directly into a crappy middle class neighborhood of back yards. All in all, my "get away" upgraded experience felt more like a motel 6 with a $1,000,000 dream on a $500 budget.

They do charge parking. It is Chicago-land. Staff are incredible. Super friendly and attentive. 10/10 legit. Property is right on the main interstate headed into the city so that traffic is a bit hearable although I have been in hotels that are way louder so this is not a complaint. The main thing here is it is overdue for upkeep and restoration. The property is beat up, the rooms are outdated, the furnace is too loud, and it's just time. To be clear the rooms are clean and the bedding, towels, etc are fresh. Overall I recommend to Yelpers to stay here and I recommend to Marriott and management to make the updates that would keep this property on par with expectations for the brand.

I love Marriott's Residence Inn offering. It's similiar to staying at a luxury apartment, but for a…read moremuch cheaper rate than you'd pay at most places. The cornerish room (edge middle room between two corner rooms) they gave me looked to be recently remodeled. It looks like everything in the building is recently renovated so things for the most part seem newish. No cobwebs or dust in sight (aside from the top of the fridge being a bit dusty, but alas I don't think 6'+ housekeepers are common.) Rooms are equipped with dishwashers, full size electric ovens (some don't have an oven so you have to request it,) a toaster, microwave & a fridge. They feature stand-in showers & low height toilets. Pretty much everything in the rooms is low height which is perfect, especially for those with disabilities. The Residence Inn offers a free all you can eat breakfast buffet from 6:30 am to 9:00 am Monday thru Friday & from 7:00 am to 10:00 am on weekends. There is a pool, jacuzzi, laundry room & gym. It also has a small "marketplace" next to the front desk that consists of a few items you can grab like soda, TV dinners & snacks along with personal care items. Since the hotel is small, all of the amenities are scaled to match. This means things like the marketplace & breakfast buffet have nowhere near the selection of other busier Residence Inns like the one in downtown Phoenix which also includes things like salisbury steak, chinese food & whatever they felt like cooking for breakfast alongside the standard waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, meats, cereal, etc. The breakfast here is a measly eggs (cage free,) bacon, muffins (jalapeno cheddar biscuits in muffin form so not sweet dessert muffins,) & oatmeal. Even though the breakfast ends at a certain time they do have mini fridges that have fat free milk & yogurt along with coffee/water dispensers that are always available (they shutdown the juice dispenser once breakfast closes.) There are several cons though. My room preferences were completely ignored when they assigned the room. Since the edge room they assigned me was on a lower level & near the exit...hearing the frequent slamming of the exit door as people took the stairs was not ideal. Speaking of doors...my door was defective & wouldn't close all of the way naturally so I had to push it until it clicked every single time otherwise anyone could literally just push the door open. The view was also terrible as it overlooked the parking lot & had trees, street lights, etc. blocking the window. The ice maker on the fridge was way too loud. It produces ice at a super slow pace & the buzzer seems to go off every 30 minutes or so. When the ice is done it makes a loud bang almost like a bomb went off as it dispenses the ice into the bucket. The second con is the lack of in-house food options. Third is that there's no shuttle that'll take you to nearby places which is a missed opportunity to earn a lot of extra business from traveling professionals & tourists. For some reason there were no baking pans even though my room had an oven although they did have utensils, plates, pots, etc. The rooms are also not as soundproof as they should be... with me being able to hear people walking outside in a hallway as well as them coming in going from their rooms. I also occasionally heard my neighbors upstairs & adjacent to me moving around or snoring all of which is concerning as it leaves me wondering how much they heard from my room? For a place geared towards business...privacy should be a priority. There was also whisper levels of strange electrical noises that seems to have come from the minisplit HVAC system. I was told house keeping cleans every other day, but they didn't touch my room for the first four days even though I saw them in the hallway. It took me sitting my overflowing trash cans outside of my door for them to go inside & clean the room. Even then they didn't actually clean anything, moreso just replaced the towels as well as made the bed after taking out the trash (of which the recycle bin was returned with large bits of food in it which wasn't mine so even that was not cleaned.) Also be aware of the $5/day parking fee added to your room bill which is charged even if you aren't even driving & therefore aren't using the parking lot. There was no hand soap as well as no lotion in the room so I had to use the liquid body wash in the shower along with my own lotion. Overall, this is a much better option than the normal Marriott hotel in Downer's Grove. The bed is actually comfortable enough to sleep on, the minisplit HVAC system doesn't kick in like a mule (other than the electrical noise it's rather quiet when on,) and every other amenity is leagues ahead of a regular Marriott.
