The reservation check in took a while like if their wasn't a reservation made weeks ago. We paid extra to have the pool, bar & arcade area to our selves. Nothing was set up, the arcade was never opened. By the time we got in the pool it was almost 6:30pm. The keys would not work to access the pool or room. Maintenance came to set up the table's after I went back up there. The pool is smaller than I expected. The room bathroom tub doesn't look clean as it has stained and hair on side lines, we live nearby so definitely bathing at home. Toilets are super low and small. The room for the space has all the essentials and 2tv's one in 2nd room and then in bedroom is plus. Everything is well packed in the room. They accommodated us, but it was a constant back and forth. The staff was pleasant. My party had a great time overall, celebrating my sons bday, during this pandemic. It was nice to be able to watch the kids from the bar/lounge area (where food is allowed). Just having this area to ourselves during this pandemic was very nice, I know their trying to do what they can to survive as a business. read more

This place is straight "Dog Sh@t". The only thing clean in this establishment is the registration desk to get a room. Upon arriving at this place was an Officer there for a rowdy tenant. Your welcoming to this place is the dry stench of hot garbage in the elevator. That same stench was in our room but less noticeable with air conditioning running. The air vents were simply filthy. I don't believe they have been service or cleaned since 911. The pool hasn't been operational in over a year and the weight room is very unsatisfactory. Don't ask for room service. I had ask for fresh towels and requested for our room to be cleaned for 2 days. The third day. We finally got fresh towels and the room cleaned halfway. I also couldn't believe the dust found on the backrest of the sofa bed and furniture. There's more dust in our room then in the Sahara Dessert.. The patio door in the bedroom was dirty and had more grease kid stains then Puff Daddy and the baby oil trial. There was a coffee cup lid with food underneath the desk. Mold could be found all over the bathroom, patio door and any place with moisture. This establishment is very unsanitary and the upkeep is minimal at best. So I thought if I booked a hotel in Oakbrook Terrace it would be a safe establishment for a single woman traveling alone. Not so! This hotel is in need of obvious repairs but I'm going to focus on feeling secure. My room door locks weren't aligned and the outside doors did not have working locks. Parking my car in the lot was scary because I could hear voices from the 3rd floor and the smell of weed present. Not sure if I should be concerned about the people outside or the people inside the hotel. Paper taped over light sensors, broken ironing board, ice machine broken on 2nd floor. I am writing to formally request an immediate refund for my stay at Comfort Suites in Villa Park due to the extremely unsanitary and unacceptable conditions I encountered. Upon checking into my room, I was appalled to find multiple health and cleanliness violations, including: * Bugs throughout the room * Stained furniture, carpet and bedding * Sticky residue on the walls * Disgusting smells and cigarette smell * Water dripping from the ceiling of mold and onto the floor This level of filth is entirely unacceptable and poses serious health risks. I immediately brought these concerns to the front desk, but no adequate resolution was provided. Due to the unsanitary conditions, I was forced to leave and seek alternative accommodations. I've patronized this establishment a few times. I've never had an issue any time I've ever been here. Front desk is always very courteous. Their suites are really clean and tidy. I do enjoy the fact that they have free breakfast from 6 to 9 in the morning with eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, yogurt, and fresh fruit you name it for the price of their suites this hotel is a good deal. they also have a pool on the lower level of the hotel. I've never been but I have yet to get there. The times that I've been here before they used to have a deposit of $50 now they've raised it to 100 so that's just something to be aware of for some people that may wanna come here just to let them know. read more

Decent hotel for a night's stay. The hotel is clean as well as the room. I checked the place before booking a room to make sure. The lobby is brightly lit and the receptionists are very friendly and inviting. The room was spacious but a bit dark. Since I was on the first floor I didn't feel comfortable opening the curtains. I looked at a room that faces the busy road in front and was worried about the noise so I moved to the other side of the hotel. The room had a weird odor but otherwise comfortable. The bed was very comfy and lots of soft pillows. I appreciated that they don't use single use plastic bottles for shampoo and lotion. Breakfast was typical and they offer a wide variety of items (eggs, cereal, breads, waffles, yogurt, some fruit). Coffee was not good so I went out for one. The check out is at noon which is nice if you need extra time in the morning. I would stay here again or seek out other Comfort Suites if I was traveling. read more

absolutely disgusting, rooms do NOT look like what they appear online. The pictures used online must've been from the first day this place was ever opened because the rooms are stained everywhere. Our toilet was broken in our first room, so they had to switch over to what they called an "upgrade" if anything it was even more disgusting. Bathrooms are disgusting and our tub drain was filled with hair. There was no hand soap in our bathroom. The water from the sink tastes like iron. There are windows by the front door so if open you can see into others rooms. The ceilings have black areas on them. The double doors that close off the beds from the couch room don't close properly and are an inch off the ground, ours even had a spring popping out of the top of the door. Large clean room with plenty of space. I like the fact that it has 2 rooms so you don't feel crowded. Sofa, tv, fridge, microwave and desk in one room and bedroom with doors you can close in the other. Great bed and plenty of pillows. The only thing I did not like was the outdated dirty looking couch. Not sure about housekeeping if they clean every day or every 3 days but I believe you have to let them know if you want it cleaned and for this reason and the couch I take off a star. They don't deduct from the rate if they don't clean every day. The light is still very dim. They did add automatic lighting in case you get up to use the restroom or vanity area. A great plus. Plenty of plugs for your gadgets. Breakfast is 3 hours and has plenty of variety. You can find something that you might want to start your day with. Coffee available 24 hours and it actually tastes good. They have a nice looking little lounge area downstairs near the pool and fitness area if you just want to sit and relax. It seems they use that as a party room. Close to everything you might need or want. I decided to give them another try and It was a lot cleaner smoking wise and didn't smell of cannabis this time around. I do recommend this hotel, just hoping it will stay clean and smoke free awhile and they get back to cleaning the rooms every day. I drove 5 hours and was tired. I found the comfort suites in Oakbrook Terrance. I went to front only to find a receptionist who wasn't too friendly. She didn't inform me of how the rates worked out per day. The first room I got had a very loud fan in bathroom(220). I was given a second room which was ok with the exception of the tub which didn't look too clean. During the course of the day the housekeeping personnel did not clean my room. A call was made to the front desk at which time I was advised that you had to notify them in advance for room cleaning. Never had I heard this before. My friends and I travel to chicago 1-2 Times per year and have stayed at Comfort Suites every time. We never had an issue in the past. We booked our stay a month in advanced through the choice hotels app and everything seemed good to go. We drove 4.5 hrs and when we arrived at Comfort Suites we were shocked at our experience. The front desk receptionist checked me in and when she went to check our friends in she said their reservation was canceled 23 hours ago. My friend was shocked and asked how that was possible and why no one called her? She was then told the room was already given to someone else. The manager Mo said he can give her a room for double the amount she booked per night and that he would have to "cancel someone elses stay the following day" so that he could accommodate her. I then jumped in and said that was not right at all since we were together and she had an email confirmation that she reserved this room at a specific rate. My friend was so upset and said she would never rent this hotel again. The manager MO then said he will not allow our friends to stay at this property and called security to evacuate us. I then said I will not stay there either and that he was very unprofessional and did nothing to resolve the issue. We had to find another hotel at 9pm on a rainy day after we just spent almost 5 hrs driving. The manager had the nerve to charge my credit card for both days and a deposit. I called customer service and was told i was still checked in. Customer service called the hotel and the front desk told them the manager was in a meeting and could not come to the phone. He asked for a call back in 2 hours. I called the hotel and asked to be checked out. The front desk girl said she is unable to check me out. I said why did your manager tell you that. I demanded that she check me out and literally had to threaten that i was going to come there with the police to make them check me out. They still charged me the one night and refused to issue a refund. After soending the entire morning with customer service they said they would issue the refund. The manager MO incredibly rude. Kicked me the person who paid out without telling me put his head down at the computer ignored everything I said. They had roaches, mold, and no pool. They clamim it flooded by reading other comments that's not what I believe because they have said many different storys. Also a man walked in on me feeding my infant daughter and they did nothing but call the room ask my name and hang up no apology or anything. The room had so many damages it wasn't a joke. I have pictures, videos, everything on top of the Gm saying he would not do anything at all also he is never there and if you call his work number they tell you to call he says in the voice mail that he will never hear it. Booked through a third party site and got a pretty decent price on the the room for 3 nights. The room we booked has 2 double beds and a separate sitting area divided by a door. There are 2 tv's, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a hide-a-bed. The hide-a-bed, as a bed is super uncomfortable and wouldn't want anyone to have to sleep on it, I could feel all of the springs. We have stayed in Oakbrook Terrace multiple times in the past and always have felt safe and there a lot of shopping and restaurant options in the area. You can access a lot of freeways and you are about 20 minutes from downtown. They are currently in the middle of a remodel, but it doesn't seem too dirty or loud from the construction. The areas that I visited seem nice. Breakfast was pretty good and they had a decent selection. Fresh made Belgium waffles, yogurt, cereals, fruits, breads and muffins, etc. They also have a protein (ham, sausage, etc) and eggs. I felt it was pretty well stocked, clean and the service lady was super nice. The parking lot seemed a little small, and it is one-way. In the front where you park to check in, there are a few parking places. There is a sign that says not to block the drive, but of course there was a car parked in the drive so I had to go in to find out who blocked the drive so I could park. read more

I could write a ton! Drunken guests fighting in the lobby, key cards not working and have to be reprogrammed each time you leave the room. Not to mention there was an incident which has now become a legal matter, and the responses from the both Manager and General Manager were both grossly inappropriate and unprofessional. I booked online with no previous knowledge of the site. I could certainly afford a better place but booked this place instead because the rooms could accommodate 5 instead of 4. Me and my friend drive here from Michigan, we had a pretty easy registration process. We get to the room and got ready to head out for the night with my friend who stays here. Once we got back to the room, my friend checks her bed (after sitting on it for a few minutes) and noticed a bedbug....shortly after she noticed 2 more!!! We grabbed our things and called the front desk in the process. The night clerk goes on to tell her that the rooms are sold out for the night, and that he could refund us our money tomorrow when the manager gets in. Mind you, I drove 4:45 minutes to get here, then was out drinking all night, so I was tired. I told him that was unacceptable and we needed a different room. He then calls his manager and the manager had him give us a room that was for a guest who hadn't checked in yet. We all go to that room and check out the bed, there was no bedbugs, but I soon noticed semen stairs all on the couch. The floor was nasty and dirty. Heading out of Chicago to St Louis and hit a ton of traffic and decided to call it a night. A little bit out if my way, but only stay at Choice hotels for their awesome rewards program. King has 2 rooms, small sitting area then bedroom. Beds feel very comfortable. Large TV's with all the channels one would expect. Staff is very friendly and there is amble parking. The location of this hotel is just perfect for me when I am in Chicago for work. Not to mention the amazing staff here. Every front desk clerk remembers me no matter how long its been since I have stayed here. They are accommodating and helped me out when my bags were delayed and I needed some hygiene supplies like toothbrush and toothpaste. Another thing about the service is that when housekeeping doesn't bug me in the mornings like some hotels do, even before checkout. If I request a late check out, they are polite and dont rush me out either. Thank you for letting me sleep in on multiple occasions. Now on to the rest of the hotel: The internet is great, no problems for me to get work done and check my emails. I can even play video games on it with little to no lag. During peak times in the afternoons it can get a little slow but that's expected in most hotels. The rooms that I have been in have a separate living room from the bedroom. The beds are super comfortable giving me a good nights rest. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. Plenty of outlets by the work desk. Big pool and work out gym in the lower lobby. Another bonus I like is the water machine at the breakfast area so I can refill my water bottle easily. The breakfast is the standard items like eggs, ham/sausage, bisquits and gravy at times, fruits, yogurt, milk, cereal, juices, waffles, etc. They also provide your receipt under the door for an express check out. This is the hotel I send my friends and relatives, when their visiting the area. I have stayed here myself and always had a good experience. They are usually booked on the weekends so make sure you have reservations. I love that all the rooms are suites, so you get a separate living area with microwave/refrig. Included is a free continental breakfast, or you can upgrade that to a hot breakfast. The pool & sauna are nice and they have a good size workout room. This location added two hot tub suites as well, one smoking & one non-smoking, which is the honeymoon suite. I think the rates are good, once you consider everything you get in your room. I booked a weekend through Orbitz using a debit card. When I arrived to check in with the same card I was told that I could only check in with a credit card. When I explained that the confirmation email didn't say that, the front desk clerk told me it was probably in small writing but it was there. She also refused to let me check in with a prepaid card. She then explained that she would mark me as a no show and I would be charged for a night, although I was clearly not a no show. And that only her manager, who wouldn't be in until the morning, could refund me. I called in the morning and spoke with a front desk MANAGER that explained that only her general manager could help me but he won't respond to my phone calls. I was told to email him and he may respond to that. Talk about caring for a customer. Then when I did receive a response to my email it was condescending and rude. He didn't address the fact that I was charged when I clearly showed up to check in but did spend a paragraph explaining what a credit card is. Frankly it isn't even about the money, it's about a company who could care less how they treat customers. If your business needs that $70 so bad that it causes you to be rude to a customer then good luck! Travel for a funeral. I'm not sure how they call themselves 3 star. I don't know where to start. The hotel is outdated and feels like I'm stuck in the 80s. Hotel staff is very unprofessional. I would give them zero stars if I could. Upon entry I noticed a line of people waiting to be checked in, and there was no manager on duty. Once I was checked in I went to my room. Both of the keys (cards) given did not work, so I went back downstairs to ask for new ones. I then received a new pair and was able to get inside my room. When I entered my room I noticed a sewage smell that was terrible. I went to the bathroom and then notice our toilet had been clogged from the previous people that had stayed there. She refuses to do so and apologizes with "Unfortunately I cannot do that....I'm sold out today..but I can send someone up there to fix it." She then tells the maintenance lady in Spanish that "I don't know, something's wrong in this lady's bathroom, I don't know what room she's in." blindsided by the fact that I speak and understand Spanish. So I reply in English with "there's nothing wrong other than the toilet, it's clogged. And, I'm in room 218." They both are caught off guard, and freeze for a moment. Moving forward the maintenance lady came with me to my room, and I let her in to unclog the toilet. She then leaves after trying, and says "I'll be right back". She never came back..The front desk calls and says to come downstairs to change rooms. I asked the front desk worker what we were then going to do, and she said she was just going to "give me another room." I ask "How is that possible when you told me earlier that you were sold out?" As she replies "Well, I'm just going to give you someone else's room. It's as simple as that...also the pool is closed." The following day my work meeting is pushed back, and I'm not from around the area. I call the front desk to ask about extending my stay only for about an hour more, due to my circumstances. He then states that if I stay an extra hour that it will be $15 more, and two hours $25. After my prior day's experience I would think they'd be more lenient, but they refused and said it was something I'd have to be charged for. I'm surprised by the customer service my partner and I received this entire visit, and I will surely never be staying there or any of their locations again. My experience with this property and staff was EXTREMELY LESS THAN FAVORABLE!!! The basement area where the party room is located an ideal place to host almost any type of event/party for up to 50 people was my desired event venue. I KNOW because I have attended a couple of previous parties here at this location in the past. I called on Dec. 29th and spoke to the sales manager Yessinia to book an event that was to be held Feb 16th for 15 married couples. She sent via email me a contract for the event date in the amount of $475. I had already given her my credit card information during our talk. Upon receipt of the contract I signed it. I called on Wed. Feb 13th to confirm that everything was set for our upcoming event. My call was taken by Janita (asst. to Yessinia or so she said because Yessinia was supposedly out on personal leave) she "acted" as if she had no knowledge of my upcoming event. We went back and forth for a bit as she continued to tell me that she herself didn't book my party (so I guess that made her irresponsible for it). After telling me this about 6 times, I was completely irritated & frustrated!!! I said "Please DON'T say that to me anymore. If you are Yessinia's asst, you work for comfort suites and you represent the Choice hotel brand then you to are indeed responsible. She then goes on to tell me that there was another party booked in the space that I wanted however, she could move me a smaller area of the hotel for a discounted amount of $300. I told her I didn't want that offer it to the other party since I booked first and give me what I reserved. She LIED and said that she had no knowledge of my event but I have SAVED on my phone a voicemail that she (Janita) left January 14th. She refused to give me what I reserved and I asked to speak with the gm. As you could imagine he was unavailable and I had to call back on Thursday. When I called on Thursday at 12:42 pm she again answered and informed me that she had sent me an email. When I went to check for the email I find that she had CANCELLED my event that was set to be held there. The worst part to all of this was after I contacted the hotel manager about the poor planning coordination, the manager LaVeen wouldn't return a phone call but would ONLY email me. I left SEVERAL messages and still not even the decency to return a call and speak with me. However, he sent an email stating that because i hadn't booked 10 sleeping rooms that i couldn't have the meeting space. That's never been a prerequisite to renting a banquet space/meeting room at any hotel. At the end of all of this, the hotel manager seemingly doesn't have control over his staff. The event coordinator & front desk staff are very unprofessional, rude and liars to say the least. If you plan to rent the party room at this hotel, beware of the shady dealings of the hotel's general manager, event coordinator & staff!!! This was probably my WORST experience at a hotel. We checked in on Tuesday 8/21 and the room looked great. Unfortunately looks can be deceiving. We woke up on Wednesday 8/22 itching with small bumps on my arms and legs. As I was laying in bed I spotted a bed bug crawling on the blanket. I killed it and immediately jumped out of bed. I started packing up our belongings (after shaking EVERYTHING out) and I saw another bed bug crawling on the pillow. I tried taking a picture but it disappeared behind the bed. Within a minute a third one was crawling and I took video of that to show the front desk. After gathering our things my boyfriend called me from work to tell me he had little bites on his upper body. I went to the front desk to discuss my issue and it was handled very poorly. There was NO manager on duty until 4pm. The two front desk employees were of little help. One gentleman told me I should have brought this to their attention upon checking in and they would have switched my room. Had I noticed upon check-in, I would have LEFT ENTIRELY!! He said he could not issue a refund since I booked through hotels.com but would have the manger call me after 4pm that day. Well the manger named "Moe" NEVER returned my call. After reaching out to hotels.com for assistance, they called the hotel and were told they could not issue a refund until they "investigated". I offered to go up to the room before checking out to show them the bed and my bites. They told me that wasn't "necessary" but told hotels.com they still needed to. I then reached out to Choice Hotels main customer service line and was told the hotel is owned and operated privately but they apologize for my "bad experience". I am still covered in bites and praying none of these critters made their way into our home. I have NEVER been as disgusted with "customer service" as I was by this chain. Better inside than appears on the outside. The bathrooms are very outdated and small. Suite was nice sized, bed was comfortable, bedding really wasn't. Breakfast was decent. Hot and cold items. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Very welcoming. Honestly it was pricey for what we got. I prefer the Clarion a mile or two up the street. read more

I was in Chicago for business and this was a really nice location for me. About a half hour outside of the city but easily accessable to the highway that will take you straight in. Close to Oakbrook Center which is a very nice outdoor mall with lots of higher end stores but also some places to eat (California Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory). The rooms were large with a seperate living-room area with a TV, microwave, and mini-fridge. I especially appreciated the Fridge which meant I didn't have to go out to dinner every night of my stay. The bed was pretty comfortable, with decent pillows. My only complaint really is that I requested to be on the side that didn't border the road and that request did not get through I guess. the road side can be pretty loud and there was a mega-watt-street-light RIGHT outside my window that was ridiculously bright, seriously it was like having the entire sun outside my room. I definitlly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to the hotel that are in the city. it seemed like a safe area and there was quite a bit to do. the staff is nice, the rooms are clean. the towel folded into a swan that was left on the bed every day was overkill. read more

Overall it is a good hotel. Good service, good rooms, but I have to remove a star just for the pool. It's small, cold and there is a weird clump of what looks to be chemicals at the bottom of the pool and you can't see all the way to the bottom. read more

Great place. Right off Roosevelt and great access to many things. I stay here for work often and it's great. Rooms are always clean, come with mini fridge & freezer, microwave, suite (with tv, desk, couch) and tv in bedroom. They offer bar service certain nights of the week too. Staff is always friendly and helpful, hot breakfast in morning, small workout room, off-street parking. All good things. Oh...there's free Wi-Fi also. No password required read more

The room was large and nice, they had all the typical breakfast options, and the staff was pleasant. Parking was horrible.
