Sparkling clean facilities, like brand new. One of the few hotels we have stayed at recently where housekeeping cleans everyday. Night staff was extremely friendly and welcoming after a long drive. I was grateful at our request he moved our room to a higher floor. The next day we arrived back late at the hotel. He remembered us and greeted our crew warmly. Thank you! Our room was large and the bathroom was insanely clean. Not even a dry drop on the bathroom glass wall. The room was very hot when we walked in but after five minutes of adjusting the temp it was fine. Treadmill in the exercise room had an error issue. Breakfast was hot, fresh, and delicious. The made to order omelletes were large and delightful. Both days we had to track down kitchen staff to refill the hot coffee carafe. They were a bit hard to find on both days. Fresh cut fruit on both days also seemed really low. Other than that no complaints. Wonderful hotel to book with really great point redemption. About 20 min to chinatown. About the same to United Center.

The Hyatt House Oak Brook is a wonderful hotel. I stayed here one night when I was visiting Chicago for a business trip. Everything from the reception to the room was amazing. The furniture and decor in the room was lovely, very modern and chic. Another nice perk about this hotel is breakfast is free, yes that's right, free breakfast!!! And the breakfast isn't mediocre, Hyatt House go out of their way for breakfast. The buffet includes pancakes, coffee, cereal, and an assortment of other hot items. This hotel is wonderful, if you're considering staying at this hotel, I wouldn't think twice about it.

I am SO very impressed with this hotel. Super clean, eco-friendly, very nice hotel. The rooms are large, studio type, with a nice kitchen area. The rooms and the common areas were nicely decorated, and it is clear this is a newer hotel. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming, wanting to ensure whatever issues you may have are addressed. I stayed two nights, plus we had meetings in their meeting rooms -- top notch all the way. I was chatting with the front desk and they shared that this is Hyatt's extended stay hotel format, which they have done a beautiful job executing. Not sure where the negative reviews are stemming from. I interacted with a few of the staff from the front desk to maintenance and they clearly want to provide the friendliest, best service possible. I will definitely be back as often as I travel to this area.

I paid $184 for a Saturday night. I had high expectations buttttt they definitely disappointed! The pool water was freezing and green! They didn't monitor it at all. There was sooo many people, you could barely swim. There must've been some kind of birthday party going on because there was at least 50 kids and maybe 8 adults. The room was very nice and well stocked, though.. that's why I'm giving 3 stars. The hallways smelled like marijuana very strongly and there was tons of noise. They sell snacks down by check in, I spent $50 alone just on snacks. I will say the hotel was very clean aside from the green pool. I don't know if I'd stay here again, we came solely for the pool and the overcrowding and noise made it unenjoyable. My picture of the pool was at 9am right when they opened. Also, online it says free complementary hot breakfast. There was no hot breakfast. It was just some packaged muffins, coffee and packaged cereal and milk. I didn't get the bartenders name but he was sooo nice and friendly!

This was a great 2 night stay over for work. The front desk saw that I was a Hyatt member and gave me a free upgrade to my room. I was suppose to have a room that my company had blocked and had been given a discount of some sort, but Hyatt saw that I had a hotel membership and gave me the upgrade for free. The staff was superb at all hours and on multiple days of staying there. The breakfast included in my stay was good with plenty of options to eat and the coffee wasn't too bad. It was very easy to check in and then to check out when it was time without any delays.

During my time at the Hyatt House Oak Brook Illinois, we spotted Bed Bugs In our room. I took photos as well. Then upon further investigation we discovered the let-out Couch had lots of stains, black stains several holes around the mattress, and urine stain on the bed. The let-out couch mattress is in bad condition and should be replaced. The bedroom bed also had some spots on it as well on the side. We contacted the Hotel to explain the problem. However, the sales manager stated that the manager was unavailable at the time, and we have been waited over for several hours for manager response. We are very disappointed regarding this bed bug issue and the condition of the Mattress and room. We have photos and videos of the poor condition of the room, bed and bedbugs. I feel I was placed in the room intentionally by Hotel staff who was aware of a bedbug problem in the room. Based on a conversation that took place before being placed in the room among other things. This is because I complain on the hotel a few years ago 2020 about a dirty room with hair in the sheets as well as being overcharged. Once I complained about the bed bug issue Nicole the general Manager had the audacity to call my phone leaving a voicemail message that I still have a record of, talking about I had an unrelated complaint 2 years ago. Not addressing the current issue. This was pathetic, and I feel the reason why I was placed in a room with a known bug problem. The I was further harassed at the hotel by a staff member named Joe who called me Mr. when I'm female that was also intentional. Misgendering anyone intentional is discrimination. Ruby is not a good manager at the Hotel as well. Once we reported the Bed bug issue we were told to leave the hotel after the complaint, and proof of bed bugs. Since my complaints I have been talked about and slandered by this hotel to other Hyatt locations as well. That will be addressed appropriately.

I can see where they are trying to go, but it's not there. The place is in disrepair if you pay attention at all (cracks, holes, chipped paint), a crappy elevator, there's even random crap thrown in a corner still in view of guest. If you want to be taken seriously, then handle all the stuff no one sees that isn't sexy, rather than just putting lipstick on a pig. There's no consistent theme. It's like 5 different people walked through a 2nd hand store in a rush, with no other options, so each picked what they found in their scavenger hunt and then threw it all together. It's a big space. The staff was great and welcoming. Seriously, they were solid. The place is a 2 star, but staff is worth another star. It just felt like coming to visit my aunt who doesn't get a lot of visitors so she threw everything in a closet knowing guest are coming over. We all have to ignore the smell and everything else. The stuff on the walls makes sense to her as they are her memories, but there's no theme other than her history, so none of it makes sense to anyone else. It's just awkward. The reason this place isn't booming is 100% on the owner. They are trying to look bougie, while ignoring real issues, and clearly in way over their head attempting to do way too much with too little. They need to take a loan or get an investor and make this place amazing. It could be, but it's not. Then again, not sure if the place they dream of could survive in that area as the prices would need to double and the area may not be willing to pay. Potential investors may have said the same. I see the vision, but also see the reality, which just frustrated me as there was conflict around every corner. Also, the bar closes early at like 8 or 9pm. Additionally the upgraded rooms with "garden view" are anything but. The actual room is good. The detached building however looks like it was a nursing home that's never been changed or upgraded; at least on the outside and entrance. When you walk in the front door of said nursing home, it SMELLS like a nursing home. It was strong and not in a good way. When you are in your room and look outside at the "garden view", it's a crappy 1/2 wall that appears to have been designed and built as a favor by a drunk uncle who was in a rush. It's very small and insignificant. It's an eye sore, but the "garden" is actually just the back yard looking directly into a crappy middle class neighborhood of back yards. All in all, my "get away" upgraded experience felt more like a motel 6 with a $1,000,000 dream on a $500 budget.

During my first visit I got upgraded to a suite and it was a great experience as it was my birthday, and birthday weekend. It was spacious between the living area, and the bedroom overlooking the mall. I would for sure get a space like that again if I was with a group traveling. The second time I stayed at this Marriott, my shower in the room did not work. The staff was prompt to get maintenance there while I went to the mall next door, and it was ready to go when I arrived back to turn in for the evening. Parking is pretty simple as its on the side of the building as well as the backend. There is a Starbucks on-site at the end of the long corridor so it is nice to grab and go before departure.

Property is right on the main interstate headed into the city so that traffic is a bit hearable although I have been in hotels that are way louder so this is not a complaint. The main thing here is it is overdue for upkeep and restoration. The property is beat up, the rooms are outdated, the furnace is too loud, and it's just time. The cornerish room (edge middle room between two corner rooms) they gave me looked to be recently remodeled. It looks like everything in the building is recently renovated so things for the most part seem newish. No cobwebs or dust in sight (aside from the top of the fridge being a bit dusty, but alas I don't think 6'+ housekeepers are common.) Rooms are equipped with dishwashers, full size electric ovens (some don't have an oven so you have to request it,) a toaster, microwave & a fridge. They feature stand-in showers & low height toilets. Pretty much everything in the rooms is low height which is perfect, especially for those with disabilities. The Residence Inn offers a free all you can eat breakfast buffet from 6:30 am to 9:00 am Monday thru Friday & from 7:00 am to 10:00 am on weekends. There is a pool, jacuzzi, laundry room & gym. It also has a small "marketplace" next to the front desk that consists of a few items you can grab like soda, TV dinners & snacks along with personal care items. Since the hotel is small, all of the amenities are scaled to match. This means things like the marketplace & breakfast buffet have nowhere near the selection of other busier Residence Inns like the one in downtown Phoenix which also includes things like salisbury steak, chinese food & whatever they felt like cooking for breakfast alongside the standard waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, meats, cereal, etc. The breakfast here is a measly eggs (cage free,) bacon, muffins (jalapeno cheddar biscuits in muffin form so not sweet dessert muffins,) & oatmeal. Even though the breakfast ends at a certain time they do have mini fridges that have fat free milk & yogurt along with coffee/water dispensers that are always available (they shutdown the juice dispenser once breakfast closes.) There are several cons though. My room preferences were completely ignored when they assigned the room. Since the edge room they assigned me was on a lower level & near the exit...hearing the frequent slamming of the exit door as people took the stairs was not ideal. Speaking of doors...my door was defective & wouldn't close all of the way naturally so I had to push it until it clicked every single time otherwise anyone could literally just push the door open. The view was also terrible as it overlooked the parking lot & had trees, street lights, etc. blocking the window. The ice maker on the fridge was way too loud. It produces ice at a super slow pace & the buzzer seems to go off every 30 minutes or so. When the ice is done it makes a loud bang almost like a bomb went off as it dispenses the ice into the bucket. The second con is the lack of in-house food options. Third is that there's no shuttle that'll take you to nearby places which is a missed opportunity to earn a lot of extra business from traveling professionals & tourists. For some reason there were no baking pans even though my room had an oven although they did have utensils, plates, pots, etc. The rooms are also not as soundproof as they should be... with me being able to hear people walking outside in a hallway as well as them coming in going from their rooms. I also occasionally heard my neighbors upstairs & adjacent to me moving around or snoring all of which is concerning as it leaves me wondering how much they heard from my room? For a place geared towards business...privacy should be a priority. There was also whisper levels of strange electrical noises that seems to have come from the minisplit HVAC system. I was told house keeping cleans every other day, but they didn't touch my room for the first four days even though I saw them in the hallway. It took me sitting my overflowing trash cans outside of my door for them to go inside & clean the room. Even then they didn't actually clean anything, moreso just replaced the towels as well as made the bed after taking out the trash (of which the recycle bin was returned with large bits of food in it which wasn't mine so even that was not cleaned.) Also be aware of the $5/day parking fee added to your room bill which is charged even if you aren't even driving & therefore aren't using the parking lot. There was no hand soap as well as no lotion in the room so I had to use the liquid body wash in the shower along with my own lotion. Overall, this is a much better option than the normal Marriott hotel in Downer's Grove. The bed is actually comfortable enough to sleep on, the minisplit HVAC system doesn't kick in like a mule (other than the electrical noise it's rather quiet when on,) and every other amenity is leagues ahead of a regular Marriott.
