I recently visited Comma Karaoke for the first time after moving to Washington about 2 months ago. Back in California, I already had a favorite karaoke spot, but some girlfriends invited me here for a Sunday night out, so I figured I'd give it a try since I haven't done karaoke in Washington yet. We got there around 7 PM and it wasn't too busy (probably because they opened at 6 PM). There was just one male staff member at the front to check in with. No security, as far as I could tell. One thing they are VERY strict about is no outside food or drinks. There are signs posted everywhere, and they even checked our bags before we went in. Personally, I didn't really mind since the karaoke places I used to go to in California had similar rules, but if you're going to enforce that policy so heavily, I feel like the food should at least be worth it. Unfortunately, the food here was pretty mediocre. The yogurt soju was actually good, and the waffle fries were decent enough, but the gyoza tasted average and the fried spring rolls are a cheap knockoff of lumpia. They also gave us complimentary popcorn, but I'd still recommend eating beforehand if you plan on spending a couple hours here. One thing that surprised me was that none of us got ID checked even though we ordered drinks. Maybe we just looked old enough?? As for the karaoke experience itself, it was fun! If you've never been, they'll walk you through how to use the controls to find your songs to sing. We originally booked one hour but ended up extending it to two. The process here is a little different from what I'm used to since you decide upfront how long you want the room for, whereas my old karaoke place just held onto an ID and let you stay as long as you wanted before paying at the end. Not a biggie, just different. The place itself was freezing when we first walked in, but after singing for a while it became more comfortable. We were provided two microphones, and highly encouraged to use the disposable microphone covers, probably for cleanliness and for sanitation purposes. We were also given 2 of those little handheld percussion instruments (forgot what they're called) that you can shake and clap along with while people are singing to add to the fun atmosphere. The song selection here is fairly huge. The physical songbook is kind of outdated, but once you figure out the system controls, you can search songs by artist, title, and even country. English songs were definitely easier to find compared to songs in other languages, so I'd recommend using the booklet to find exact song numbers if you want international songs. The scoring system was also kind of hilarious because none of us could figure out how it actually worked. Sometimes it felt tied to pacing, sometimes volume, and other times it just seemed random. Some songs also felt slightly off timing-wise. Still, we had a lot of fun messing around with it and singing everything from rock songs to classics to upbeat pop songs. There's definitely enough variety for everyone to find something they enjoy. One downside is that the rooms are not very soundproof. About an hour into our session, another group came into the room next to us, and whenever we paused between songs, we could clearly hear them belting out sad songs at full volume. It was lowkey kind of funny though. When we left, we noticed there's a small square window at some of the rooms, including ours, and wondered if anyone could just peep inside.. In general, I'd say Comma Karaoke is just okay. The karaoke itself was enjoyable and the private room setup is great if you don't like public karaoke, but if the food tasted better, it would have massively improved the experience. There are plenty of [Korean] food options in the same parking lot, but I would rather just sing and eat at the same place. We also drove about 30 minutes to get here, so I was hoping to be a little more impressed. Still, if you're in the area and just want a casual night out with friends, it gets the job done. read more

I called to book a room for a party of five and spoke with a staff member. I asked about ID requirements since I wasn't sure if it was a bar or just karaoke, and I had forgotten my ID. He told me ID would only be needed if we planned to drink. I let him know we are Muslim and don't drink, and he said that wouldn't be an issue and went ahead and reserved a room for us. A few minutes later, I received an accidental call back from the same number and overheard him talking about us to someone else. He mentioned our religion in a disrespectful way, called us "weird," and said he would upcharge us and put us in the back room. This was incredibly unprofessional and discriminatory. It made us feel completely unwelcome. I was just trying to celebrate my religious holiday, Eid, with my friends. I would not recommend this place based on this experience. read more

My friends and I planned a girls' night and called a karaoke spot to ask about ID requirements since some of us didn't have physical IDs. A male employee told us it wouldn't be an issue. A few minutes later, they called back. When we answered, we overheard the same employee saying, "we can just shove them in the back, they don't drink and don't have their ID, they are weird." We had already explained that we are Muslim and do not drink, which made his comments feel very disrespectful and discriminatory. The call was then hung up, and our number was blocked when we tried calling back. When we called from another phone, a woman answered and immediately apologized. This was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience. I would not recommend this place to any human being!!!! read more

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE!!!! The couple that run this place are so kind and accommodating, I can't say enough about them. I have been for birthdays of varied ages and average weeknights where we just wanted to have fun. It is so nice to get to go sing karaoke without a crowd of drunk folks and a three hour wait to sing one song. The pricing is really reasonable, especially split between the crew. They also have fries that I crave, other snacks, a couple adult beverage options, NA drinks, and sweets. We have also paid a small corking fee to bring our own fancy wine on a big girl birthday. This was my first karaoke room (I'm old school- have only done karaoke at bars). We did this for a family birthday. We chose this place for the cost. It was a lot of fun! There were two microphones and lots of great music for some of our party (and fewer options that appealed to other people). The system was a big laggy and tricky to navigate when trying to select songs, and the video that went with songs was kind of hysterical sometimes. I'd love to see a larger selection of tunes from the 80s and 90s in English, but they did have a large selection of songs and we were able to find things to sing. The service was great and the person working was really helpful and nice. Having never been to another karaoke room, I'm not sure if it's common to leave the room and be able to hear other rooms while in the hallway. It made me wonder what how sound carries between rooms. There was no one in the room next to us (and maybe they purposefully keep a room empty between groups), but if there had been I wonder if there would be sound traveling between. read more

Went in on a Friday night and was surprised they had plenty of rooms open. We had about 8 people and stayed for 2 hours. It was so much fun. The room had two microphones. There were a ton of songs they didn't have but still enough for us to have a good time. Very affordable as well. read more

Excellent service! The equipment was good and had a spacious room for a bunch of people for cheap. The only thing is that there weren't a lot of country and other pop songs in english. I hope they work on getting more good songs. All in all it was an enjoyable experience with good friends! read more

The sound system isnt the best but they have happy hour for only $10 and hour but its only from 6-8pm and you also dont get a stamp for the happy hour. read more

Good karaoke bars are hard to come by. Specifically the ones where you can privately get your own room and queue up 90s popstars and not get... your parts stolen from everyone else. (How accepting is this time in age? ._. Very. Lol) so queue up that next song and let's sing our way into this review! *clears his throat of any frogs in there.* Atmosphere: It's right across H-Mart. The place is on the second floor. (And to this day, I have no idea what's on the bottom floor or care to. [For all you know it could be the cure to people being nicer to customer service._.]) Walking in you see two of the sweetest people to grace the korean community and my tiny raccoon heart! (There always there dedicated to the business, with the left and right wall covered in photos of groups, couples and singles who have come here in the years. (Gives it such a nice history. [Plus if you have such an embarrassing picture because of your fashion statement at the time. Why did I wear uggs with short shorts and not worn pink? I was young. Now I know.]) I have counted 9 rooms in total (doesnt help that my critter paws have 3 on each hand and paw. [Your thinking "that's 12" well it's not due to losing one leg for a saving a baby in a fire.) The rooms are spacious and holds about 1-9 people (or 12 if you have a positive mind anything is possible!) From the looks of things, everything is kept nice clean and that brings joy to me that I thought only Annie the movie brought to me. Customer Service/Equipment: I have not been there in ages but when I show up they immediately recognize me with smiles and hand shakes. (Or maybe it's the fact that they cant get the memory of horrible dying animal sounds out of their heads the remainder of their lifes. [What can I say? I have the voice of angel... of death.) They have snacks and beverages to purchase as well. All their equipment is pretty standard and seems to be updated every month. (Dont quote me on that. [I'm just still a guy stuck in the 80s and 90s music. Backstreet boys for life yo!]) Conclusion: With a long history and drunk history being here. It is the place to rock your fancy in karaoke. Great staff that are very welcoming and just the sweetest people, a clean environment and a room to hardcore mosh to Brittney Spears "hit me one more time" what's not to love? *poodle stares at me* Welp, besides the cutest sassiest poodle in the northwest as well. ._. This place is awesome! And their music is pretty up to date. I mean they have Ariana Grande "No Tears Left to Cry" on there and that song is pretty new. Lol. My friends and I showed up on a Friday night because we didn't know what to do after dinner and we randomly wanted to do karaoke. We walked in and we were welcomed by a friendly gentleman who told us that all the small rooms are filled but we are more than welcomed to use the big room at the same price as the small room, score! The rooms are clean, and I thought it was so cute that they have tambourines in the room so you can jam out with them. They have a huge song collection and the sound was pretty nice. Of course you can hear other rooms, but according to my friend, the walls aren't as thin as other places. Its nice that they serve light appetizers and beer and soju. Get the grape soju, it was yummy! I believe the owners were the ones serving us, and they were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely get there early or make reservations if possible since there are about 6 rooms in there. read more

Came with a smaller group of six people, but we ended up getting the bigger room since the smaller rooms were already taken up. We came right in the middle of their happy hour, but that being said we were able to get the room right away. The big room is pretty spacious, I'd say it can comfortably hold a group about twice our size, there's plenty of room to get up and dance if you'd like and a piano as well. I took a quick peak into the smaller rooms after they had been vacated, and they looked comfy enough too, though not as much floor space for dancing. I'd say a group up to 6 would be OK in them. The remotes are in Korean, but the owners put labels on the important buttons and we were able to use them just fine. Using the remote is really useful for searching if they have newer songs as the books are harder to navigate them. The catalog book is huge though, there is of course a vast Korean song collection, but the English options were very good too. They even had Filipino as well as other languages. The owners were really nice and the place had a selection of beer and snack food you can order too. Overall I'll definitely be coming back for more karaoke. read more

I had my Birthday party here and I wouldn't mind coming back just to come back. One of the best and cheapest kareoke spots I've ever went to, and I recommend who ever wants to sing there lives away, GO TO COMMA KAREOKE!! read more

The lady, probably the owner, charged us the regular price ($27.25 inc tax) when we were there at 8:10pm. Advertisement for their happy hour shows that it is from 5pm-9pm... When we asked her why we are not eligible for the happy hour price, she told us that we had to be there at 8 pm sharp for them to honor the happy hour. On top she mentioned that the happy hour was targeted for students only. Didnt want to argue over small amount so I just paid and left. Good luck on running the business with that kind of service and mindset! Will never come back. read more

I brought my 14yr old daughter and her group of friends for her birthday and they had a BLAST! The owner was kind and helpful, the room was clean and I love the decor. The song selection for English speakers is excellent and they had a cheat sheet in the front of the binder for translating the needed buttons on the remote. Easy parking, good price. My only complaint is a that there was a cigarette smell when we first arrived (which wasn't there a few weeks earlier when I first checked the place out) but there is a fan in the large group party room and the owner turned that on without asking and soon the smell was gone (aka the smell wasn't permeating everything, just lingering). I was there a few weeks ago and I had a couple of drinks and I was little buzz but Not that drunk that I don't remember so when I was paying I did not tip her Because she was the owner but when my debit card show that she put her own tip on there like holy shit ..... $13 tip omg so don't go there she will rip you off.
