Bartender is talented and quick. He knows his customers and his attention is always focused on the drink he's making and the next customer. Great service and he has a great memory too. Pizza is decent here, I'd come back again. Fries are good and chicken tenders/wings are typical bar grub. Beers are relatively low priced, I think it was about $4 for a draft coors light. I have to say this little place that we always drove by and missed it all these years and finally came this morning is on def say probably one of the best original breakfast spots I ever been too. The kids got pancakes and waffles I got the homemade corn beef hash which is grounded like the can one you get at the store but def tastes 1000% better then the can. Nothing but to the ‍ as you can see he is a real breakfast cook making food the way it should taste. Highly recommend this place if you haven't tried weekends are packed from opening to close so be prepared for a wait. Don't miss out as I have missed out for years not coming. read more

Have lived in milton for 40 years the new owners have destroyed the food on the Resteraunt side . Use to be a place were community met , very old people regulators to city workers. Having lived in Milton years ago, I was so excited to revisist Dave's restaurant. I was waiting to get my dog groomed in Edgewood, so I brought some paperwork and went to Daves for Breakfast. You are only as good as the people you put in front of your people. I am in sales for over 30 years so good "attentive" service is important to me. And making people feel like they are wanted and WELCOME are important to me! I CLEARLY was not a local. I learned that quickly. The place was not packed at all. The waitress, Sharon, I learned her name later. Did not greet me. I waited 17 minutes for her to ask me if I wanted something to drink. I ordered tea. Another 10 minutes for her to bring it to me. I felt like I was an INCONVENIENCE and did not belong there. After she brought me my tea, I told her that I was ready to order. And her EXACT response was, "I KNOW YOU ARE" and then picked up the coffee and walked around the restaurant TWICE and filled everyone's coffee. Only then, did she decide to come and take my order. I almost did not order anything but still decided to see what would happen, and I was hungry. I was on a time limit since I was waiting for my groomer and asked if it would take long for pancakes and eggs. She said NO, it will be quick. It did not take long and basically, she might as well have thrown it on the table and walked away. Sadly, I feel bad for the cook because the food was VERY good. As I was eating I heard her say from another table, "Is everything ok?" I looked over and asked if she was talking to me. She replied yes! She always had a smile on her face, BUT, I truly felt like an INCONVENIENCE. I asked for a box and again. got one, basically threw it on the table and walked away. I made a point to talk with her as I was paying and it was a good thing because, the ticket she put on my table was for $20.00 and when I went to go pay, she ran my credit card and luckily I looked down at my bill as I was about to sign and noticed that she was charging me $38.00!! She voided it, but didn't look happy about doing it. I WON'T be back, and too bad for Dave's because I am extremely loyal and the food was very good, but I TOTALLY FELT LIKE AN INCONVENIENCE and felt like, WE DON'T SERVE "YOUR KIND" HERE! read more

I watched the young chef *Shove* an elderly customer out of the restaurant because the CHEF messed up the food order originally. All the old man wanted was a refund... Didn't even raise his voice a single time. Also needs to be renamed to Daves Fly Trap, cause it's full of god damn flies and nobody in the business does ANYTHING to prevent let alone clean them up... I want to be clear that this is coming from a place of honesty, not hostility. My wife and I were genuinely looking forward to the experience. I ordered the $21 meat lovers omelette, and I was honestly surprised by what was served. For that price point, I expected a substantial, well executed dish. Instead, the omelette was relatively small, the sausage and ham inside were cold, and the eggs were cooked to the point that they resembled an overdone scramble more than a folded omelette. At that price, that felt difficult to justify. Additionally, there was no pricing listed on the menu for a side of bacon. Being charged $7 for 4 pieces of thin bacon without any prior indication of cost felt uncomfortable and unexpected. Transparency in pricing matters, especially at those rates. My wife ordered a scramble, and unfortunately, it was presented as an open faced mound of eggs placed on top of meat, cheese, and what were labeled as home fries. The potatoes were deep fried and did not resemble home fries in texture or preparation. Presentation aside, the overall execution did not reflect the quality we anticipated. I say all of this respectfully, but firmly: based on this experience, there is not a realistic possibility that we would return. When a restaurant displays a food rating publicly, customers naturally assume a certain standard. After our breakfast this morning, I can understand how that rating may have been earned. I hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit it's intended. We believe restaurants deserve the opportunity to hear honest experiences directly. On occasion, I get attitude from some saying my reviews are too harsh. What they are is honest and to quote an adage. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen and that is fitting since at least 95% of my reviews are food based. I was headed to Tacoma and decided to give these guys a second chance as I do with many spots. I was nervous and anxious at the same time. Nervous because I was hungry and didn't want to be disappointed and anxious for the same reason. That place was fairly empty as you would expect for a Wednesday morning. I knew I would be critical of this place, but they earned that skepticism from my initial encounter. Service was pretty quick this time and my server was accommodating as I took elements from two menu items to craft my own. This time I had the Southern Breakfast, but instead of grits, I had hash-browns. The core of the meal is two hot links and two eggs. I was impressed, many places make a mess of hotlinks, they either split them in half, which I hate, if they were intended to be split, the maker would make them that way. Also, many pass off a spicy hotdog as a hot link and that is like passing off Dijon as Chinese mustard. Just not the same thing. The hotlinks had a crust on them, that was good, I assumed they deep fry them to get that texture. It's odd, but it worked. The hash-browns were not as good as last time, but again, the service was flawless and the food overall was good. After my last experience , I can't go any higher than 3 stars, today overall was about 3.5 star, which I might have normally tipped to 4, but based on history and the fact that I think prices are about 10%-15% too high for this location, 3 stars is generous and they should seriously be grateful that anyone would return after the initial experience I had. Can't say I'm in a rush to return, but I wouldn't steer anyone away from here. You kinda have to be a local, because it's 10 minutes from the freeway, but you most likely won't regret the trip. read more

Dave's is a great spot loved by all the locals! Everything I've eaten, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, is delicious and they serve some hefty portions! Family friendly environment with a bar in the back for those who need a little extra something! Drinks are always to my liking (strong) and the staff is always friendly and accommodating! If you're a local, you'll more than likely see someone you know every time you visit! Weird experience. Had heard good things about their pizza so gave it a try today. Ordered our pizza and the waiter came back twice to reassure our pizza would be ready soon because it was taking a long time. The third time he came to our table he said "You're not going to like what I'm going to tell you. They messed up your pizza and have to start over, do you want to wait". The cook then yelled something from the kitchen, so the waiter leaves and comes back with our pizza. "Guess its okay" making us wonder what happened in the kitchen. Pizza looks fine except for one slice missing all its toppings and dents in the cheese where the toppings once were. No explanation and no discount. The undamaged pizza was good but fearing the empty slice was rescued from the floor we avoided it. We're not coming back Dave. read more

I'm glad I decided to explore my town more, stumbled upon this this! I decided to go in the morning so the place was a little empty but I could still hear laughter from the regulars which was nice. My partner ordered a seafood pasta which was okay in my opinion, the portion was there and the presentation but was definitely missing flavors. I asked for mayo on my italian sub instead of italian dressing but got it anyway and no mayo. Not worth it to send it back MY husband got fish and chips. He liked his lunch. I have been a regular here since 2014. Lots has changed over the years. This place survived the pandemic and used the opportunity to make some upgrades to the bar and restaurant. My wife and I stopped into Dave's for breakfast on our way to Long Beach. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Dave's is a diner so expectations should be as such. One seats themselves here. My wife and I opted to sit in the lounge. The atmosphere is casual and laid back. Dave's offers a full bar. There are TVs scattered throughout. My wife and I slurped on a couple Red Beers with Coors Light for $3.50 while looking over the menu. Dave's offered a few different choices for the "red" in our beers. I chose Bloody Mary mix while my wife chose tomato juice. I love options. For our breakfast, we shared the Country Fried Chicken and Eggs for $10.99: Breaded and battered chicken breast covered in sausage gravy, eggs (we chose scrambled), hash-browns and toast (we chose an English muffin). Our breakfast meal was hearty and tasty. Ketchup and Tabasco were delivered to our table without having to be requested. We both left satisfied and ready to take on the day. Dave's offers an impressive selection of breakfast choices, large portions and inexpensive prices. Dave's knows how to do breakfast. Our server was friendly and efficient. Sign outside says diner! There is nothing diner about this place, showed up at 8:50 pm was told the kitchen was closed but i could order a calzone. For 18 dollars i got a pre-made calzone that was cold. I am used to better quality from restaurants no more matter where they are. I will cross daves restaurant off my list. The service here is terrible. And not just a one time experience, which is always forgivable. The issues range from...LONG waits for breakfast. The toast you ordered with your meal comes when you are done and ready to pay. Last night, my husband wanted to go there for a burger dip. We showed up around 5 pm. There was a large party in the back- some kind of celebration. No problem! They had already received their food. We ordered and proceeded to wait for our dinner. After about 25minutes, the waitress came over and said the chef was running behind because of a big party. No problem! It will be soon tho, right? She assured us it would be. 25 minutes later, I look over at the kitchen and the chef is NOT there. It looked like the kitchen was closed. My husband walked up and asked the waitress if he had even started to cook our meal/ she said no. We left. We will not be back. Which is a shame, because the place has potential to be great!
