The fries are amazing! Very crispy and not greasy. I love how they come in a cardboard tray and a lid that slides over the top. You will wait for the to go food but everything is made fresh to order. I watched them make their various versions of Mac and cheese and that too is made in small batches. They also have a general store but you will pay rest stop prices just like at any other place. You will find NH themed products for sale as well. The bathrooms are very clean and there is a giant water wheel inside to see as well as information about what to do in NH. Located in the same rest area as the Liquor Outlet, this deli serves up sandwiches, soups and salads which you're taking a break from your trip. We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon and the line was pretty lengthy. Not too long of a wait though. There is a good amount of food to select from and the prices are not bad (I'd say an average of $7-$10 for most menu items). The mac and cheese looked really good, but we ordered a hot pastrami sandwich instead. It had plenty of meat and ingredients. We split it and it was enough to satisfy our hunger for the rest of our hour long trip. They serve lobster rolls as well ($18) but I don't recall seeing anyone order one. There's plenty of seating in the middle of the food court area, which is shared with the General Store, Diner, Art store and Liquor outlet. This place is very kid friendly and also very clean. I know roadside restaurants at welcome centers usually aren't that great but this presented like a real restaurant and looked really good. Sorry to say we were fooled. First off, they do have a huge food selection. I purchased a chicken salad sandwich. This was the best item I had although definitely overpriced. I also purchased an egg and sausage breakfast sandwich. Yuck would be the best word to describe it. The egg was dry and it was clear it'd been sitting under a heating lamp for hours. Way overpriced. I also decided to get a latte. My first choice couldn't be made because they said the syrup was old (eww). Second choice, the person making it had to ask how to make it so I suspected it might not be great. It was awful. The cold brew we ordered also was okay but nothing great. I've personally worked for the Common Man chain of businesses, and they are all the same: milk their employees' work ethic and pay them substandard wages. But that isn't why I'm writing this review. I stopped in the other day to grab some gas and beer. I filled my tank, went inside, grabbed a 12-pack of Tuckerman's Pale Ale from the beer cave, and paid at the register. Now, as someone who works in the craft beer industry, I can tell you first hand that there are certain costs involved with making beer and distributing that beer to the areas around you....I get that...but those costs DO NOT add up to nearly 18 dollars for a 12-pack of one of the most commonly sold pale ales in the New England area. That's what the general store on 93 North decided to charge their customers: 18 bucks for a twelve pack of beer that is worth a MAXIMUM of 13 everywhere else. It appears that the Common Man Roadside stop on 93 North has adequately convinced themselves that price-gouging their loyal customers is the way to success. I'm not sure what business school Alex Ray went to, but my lord, he should get his money back. Oh, and the kicker? The beer I bought was 3 months past its brewery-fresh date, which means the general store manager isn't doing his job. But who can blame him for that? He's underpaid. read more

The fries were burnt to a crisp and a disgusting brown color like the oil had never been changed. The burgers were flattened hockey pucks with zero flavor. We stopped here for a quick bite on our way home from MA on a cold, rainy early Sunday evening. Not knowing what to expect, but being familiar with various Common Man properties, we were interested to go inside and see what was offered. What we found was a very quick service offering of sandwiches, soup, and a few dinners. We got in line and ordered meatball subs since hot comfort food sounded good on this cold, dreary day. We had our food just several minutes later which was great because who wants to spend a lot of time waiting when you're on the road?!? The subs consisted of large meatballs covered with a nice sauce and melted cheese. The rolls were the disappointing part of the sub---hardly toasted. The subs were served with Common Man chips and pickle slices. The price was reasonable for what we got and the food was hot. Seating is in a courtyard between the line we ordered our food and another side/line that was apparently closed for the day already. There were a few booths also to the side of the cooking area. Everything was clean and new and we will probably stop here again if we are hungry while on the road. The nice thing is that the same structure houses the liquor store, bathrooms and a convenience type store! read more

it's marketed as being family friendly but they stopped wearing masks so beware if you are immunocompromised or have children under 12. Restaurants supposedly enforce hand washing when not mandated by the governor to protect others from disease so I'm not sure why masks would be different. First what made me even stop was a sign that highlighted a Pepperoni and pepper jack grilled cheese - upon arriving in the store - the ordertaking girl looked at me like I was nuts prompting me to take a photo of the sign - and then a second girl said they no longer offered it. Okay fine - so I'll get the Bacon and Gruyere grilled cheese... I waited and waited - apparently the soup showed up but not the grilled cheese on the screen . I said that the order was wrong - they then gave me a regular grilled cheese. I paid $7 for the other one - the classic is 4.50 -so again I had to wait. Our family stopped in since we were hungry and in a rush, so why not a rest-area diner. It is affiliated with the Common Man restaurants, so it should be good, right? We were very disappointed. When you enter a diner, you expect table service. No such service here. You order at a counter, then wait for your food. The cashier took our order, but didn't say beverages aren't included. Yes, we all wanted breakfast without coffee, juice or water. The layout also makes no sense. Ordering and receiving food cross over, so near-misses with trays happened often. When the food was delivered, it looked good. But my pancakes were bland and dry. Ordering real maple syrup was $2 - what a rip off! I didn't get any. My wife's omelet was also bland. The french toast was ok, but nothing special. On a positive note, the bacon was very tasty. Perfectly smoked, not overcooked, and a joy to eat. Too bad the rest of the meal wasn't the same. For the money we paid, disappointed would be an understatement. I suggest you avoid this place even if you are hungry. Get off the highway in Manchester or Concord and have a quality meal. read more

The burgers are great and there's not much better than homemade chips. They have booths so you can eat there, or they will give you very sturdy to-go containers.
