My favorite place in pittsburgh!! I loved coming here to study and grab a drink and sit in a cute little shop with friends! I love how sunny it gets here, and how cozy it feels with some of the plant decoration. It's a pretty good place to study, but don't come here if you're expecting it to be super quiet. I loved the employees here and they always made my day so much better when talking to them. Also, I was never disappointed with my drinks, I loved the Matcha, chai, or any of their seasonal flavors. I definitely recommend coming here and I hope to be back if I'm ever back in the city.

@commonplacecoffee in squirrel hill Pittsburgh was an artsy coffee shop with plenty of seating, great selection of sandwiches and coffees. All drinks are made with craft and care. Great service too.

It seemed pretty good from the street looking in. Commonplace Coffee on Forbes in Squirrel Hill neighborhood is a place to be on a wet Sunday morning. I came here seeking a cup of Joe by a local roaster. The shelves are stocked up with freshly roasted whole bean coffee bags. I almost bought a few bags but I wanted to try it first. I ordered Pour Over with Luis Alberto II Flavor. This method took awhile to brew. Because it's individually prepared. I didn't like the body nor the taste. It was light and sour. But sitting by the window watching the world gone by was pretty relaxing. After I finish my coffee. I went to a bagel shop to get a better tasting coffee. I also didn't like the service. I felt being ignored. I think they were short staffed and those 2 employees were concentrating on their job.

I ordered some matcha and a blueberry muffin from here! It was delicious and the people working were super nice! I want to come back to try the coffee as well!

Your average coffee shop. Good coffee, slightly dry breads, slightly squished seats/small tables, nice ambience, studyable but also yappable bc its kinda loud.

I stopped by here this past Sunday with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. Every Sunday morning we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we decided to go to Commonplace Coffee. This commonplace coffee is located righton Forbes Avenue in the heart of the business district in Squirrel Hill. The inside is spacious with exposed ductwork and it has both indoor and outdoor seating. They have signs for where you place your order as well as pick it up and have a display with their baked goods near where you order. For my coffee on this morning I went with a large latte and my wife went with a cold brew. Then we also ordered a plain croissant to split with my twins. After only a couple minute wait, I had everything and we headed outside to sit down. My latte here ended up being quite good. Commonplace always seems to have rich and smooth coffee and today was no exception. The milk provided a nice foil to the coffee as well and I thoroughly enjoyed the latte. Then both of my twins enjoyed the croissant and I did as well. It was flaky and tasted good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed our drinks here and the croissant was solid too.

We stopped in to grab a cup of coffee after lunch and it was quite crowded. They have free wifi and there were several people with laptops working. The inside was pretty cute with a lot of plants surrounding the area. The service was quick and the coffee was good and reasonably priced. Overall a good stop!

Amazing coffee and service. I love getting an oat milk latte and banana chocolate chip muffin. The espresso is incredible. They also bring your coffee and pastry to you if you choose to hang out for a bit. Great place to do work as well--there are outlets along the benches.

We stopped at Commonplace for a quick coffee and breakfast bite on a Monday morning. The café is nice - great location with inside and outside seating. The breakfast sandwich I had was fine, and the coffee was good. It's a good neighborhood coffeeshop. If you're in the area, stop by for a coffee.

a typical cafe to study at. on the smaller side, but the ambiance is very nice and cozy. the outdoor seating is nice during good weather.

Very cute and quaint cafe. I like trying their various floral lattes, I think they do a really good job with that. I also like their plant and decor, makes for a very nice study/work place. They also have outlets near the benches and walls which are helpful!

Someone apparently forgot to…read moretell Colangelo's, which has quietly colonized an entire city block with a bakery, a connected espresso bar, house-made pastas, soups, pizzas, and enough cannoli to make your cardiologist nervous. It's less a bakery and more a culinary annexation. The pizza is the main event -- Sicilian in spirit, focaccia in soul. Square slices with a crust so airy it practically floats off the tray. This isn't the dense, bready Sicilian slab you've been tolerating at lesser establishments. This is what focaccia dreams it could be when it grows up. The linguine with clams is chock full of actual fresh clams -- a detail so rare it warrants its own moment of silence. The white wine sauce is well-seasoned and clearly made by someone who understands that restraint and confidence are not mutually exclusive. The homemade soups hit like someone's nonna has been standing over a stockpot since dawn, because she probably has. Save room -- and I mean physically reorganize your stomach -- for the cannolis and the meles, their apple-shaped turnover that looks almost too adorable to eat. Almost. If Colangelo's were any more Italian, you'd need a passport.
