    Hello Kitty Mango Cake

Beautiful cake and not to mention so good. My whole family loved it. The frosting is soft and the bread of the cake is spongey. Decoration speaks for itself it's very pretty

Good quality with lots of classic chinese bakery items. The bread always tastes fresh to me, always super soft and smells incredible. I tried their cotton cheese cake for the first time and was very impressed with how flavorful and soft it was! Of course it also wasn't too sweet. Their savory breads are packed with flavor as well. If you know what you want from here, you'll likely leave pretty satisfied.

I always love a good Asian bakery, and this one was no exception. We grabbed a number of filled buns ranging from savory to sweet, and everything we tried was delicious. The space itself would probably benefit from a light renovation, but the service was friendly and the food was excellent quality. Would definitely come back here next time I'm in Pittsburgh again.

Love this bakery! Really reminds me of my childhood when we would always get breakfast at a Chinese bakery cafe. The pastries are all delicious and authentic. They are very reasonably priced as well. We talked to a guy who may have been the owner while we were there and the mooncakes are very authentic and similar to the ones his mom would make back in Taiwan. The moon cakes were basically all sold out on Mid Autumn Festival Day. They have milk bread here, lots of pineapple bun varieties, pork floss bread, egg tarts, and sponge cakes. It also smells heavenly in here. Definitely check it out for some Chinese pastries and bread!

Stopped in for the first time today looking for some tasty morsels to remind me of my 2 years in Hong Kong. While living in HK I learned to love the Pineapple Buns, Cocktail Buns and Portuguese egg tarts among other things. I asked the cashier if they had the cocktail buns and was sorely disappointed when she indicated that they don't make them... however, to my surprise they did have a pineapple bun that was stuffed with the same coconut paste that I had come to love from the cocktail bun! It was like a 2-for-1 deal! I promptly picked out one of those, a clamshell of Portuguese tarts and one of Taiwanese tarts and devoured them outside the store at one of the tables. Happy with everything I got, just wish there was an even greater selection to choose from!

It's a bit difficult to judge Pink Box, simply because I only tried one item. However, what I can say is that Pink Box seems to be a solid Asian bakery. In fact, it's one of the few Asian bakeries in Pittsburgh. I tried the custard bun (regular vanilla, not chocolate). The price is alright for the bun. Portion wise, it's about the size of my hand, so quite large. The custard filling is creamy and has a slight acidic taste to it, almost like a light hint of lemon. I would have liked a bit more custard, but it's not an empty pastry either. The bread surrounding it is fluffy but relatively flavorless. I expected the pastry bread to be sweetened and it seemed not to be. All in all, some of the items are a little expensive. But, this place is pretty authentic, offers a good variety, and the items are seemingly fairly good quality. I'm definitely glad we have an Asian bakery in Pittsburgh, and I'll occasionally stop by.

$60 Coffee Cake was so delicious!

I am putting in a cake order for my housemate's birthday! He loves coffee cake so I ordered a 10 inch coffee cake for $60. I am placing the order a week ahead of time. They took my credit card information over the phone, along with what words I wanted written on it. Let's see how this goes! Okay! I went to Pink Box and picked up the cake no problem, just by using the phone number I ordered with. They had beautifully written happy birthday Spencer on the cake in pink icing, like requested. It was so creamy and smooth and silky. The coffee taste was light and fluffy. I highly recommend these cake professionals.

    Taro Mooncakes ($3/piece, $9/box)
    Jasmine M.

I went to Pink Box for the first time yesterday & picked up the Taiwanese taro mooncakes ($3/piece, $9/box) & a pineapple coconut bun, my go-to bun when I go to a Chinese/East Asian bakery. The pineapple coconut bun was unordinary, if not disappointing--milk bread surrounding a standard sweetened coconut flake center, with a soggy topping. As for the taro mooncakes, I was upset at how strangely off these were. The filling was sour(?) and the swirly skin/exterior tasted like raw flour. I typically like my desserts to be less sweet, but this was simply not sweet at all. I'm not sure if they were already stale when I bought them, but something was definitely not right about this recipe. For now, I'll keep hoping a quality Asian bakery comes to Pittsburgh.

Super cute pink looking front end. It's not my favorite kind of dough but I did enjoy trying a few of their offerings.

It has a roastery, bakery, and several cafes in Southwestern Pennsylvania, and it provides training and equipment to other businesses. My husband and I were customers of this cafe in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood one time. The menu listed coffees, espressos, lattes, teas, hot cocoa, cookies, muffins, scones, sandwiches, etcetera. A refrigerator contained yogurts, juices, oat milk, and other bottled beverages. Shelves held bags of coffees and kettles. Employees kindly took my husband's order and payment and promptly made our beverages. Some tables and chairs were inside the cafe, so we sat down to enjoy our beverages. Other customers were using the dining area to read, spend time with family and friends, and work on laptops. I rate the Chai Latte has 5 stars and the holiday Sugar Plum Latte as 4.5 stars. We enjoyed their flavors. Each beverage was 12 ounces, and their total price was $11 plus tax and tip. I did notice that the cafe was very humid because of the cold weather outside and the many customers inside. The windows had much condensation. I wonder if a dehumidifer would reduce the indoor humidity.
