Also loved that they sell discounted day old pastries as well as fresh ones! Great neighborhood spot with great food and drinks, would absolutely recommend and top coffee spot on the street. read more

I used to pop into Jitters all the time back when my hair stylist was at the salon just a couple of doors down, and it always hit the spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's the perfect cozy, no-nonsense neighborhood joint to grab a quick drink while you're hanging out in Shadyside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually go for their iced lattes or a hot mocha, but they do everything from a solid black coffee to refreshing smoothies if you're not looking for a caffeine kick. If you're walking down Walnut Street, it's definitely worth stopping in. read more

My go-to coffee shop in Oakland PA! They have amazing selection of coffees and drinks, lots of different syrups to try, and extremely friendly and helpful staff members. They also are going to start selling more breakfast foods other than croissants and such starting 7/14, can't wait to keep going recommend 10/10 read more

Small coffee shop with coffee, tea, pastries, and grab and go drinks. They had one gluten free pastry. Lots of tea options both caffeinated and un-caffeinated. I got the Red Vanilla Rooibos tea and it was very flavorful! My friend got the lavender latte and it was also yummy [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tight quarters when busy, but still good ambiance spot to catch up, grab a coffee, or work remote.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have a few outlets in there too which is nice to keep laptops charged.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff are friendly and welcoming! read more

Super yummy coffee!! The coffee had a wonderful roasted flavor, which I think is hard to find. The cold foam is so thick and rich, I was in heaven!!! To top it off the prices are incredible, and the staff was super friendly too. We went back again before leaving town!! They also rival a huge chain coffee shop just a few doors down, so kudos to them for delivering amazing coffee and not backing down when big chains come to town! Give them a try before ordering your usual across the street, I think you will be very glad you did!! read more

Any time I cross the rivers and venture near Shadyside, I try to make a trip to Jitters Cafe. I love this little coffee shop so much - and I do mean little; space in Jitters is very limited. The counter itself is small, there are only a handful of tables, and there isn't really a good spot to stand out of the way to wait for your drink. I inevitably get asked if I'm in line when I'm actually waiting for my order. Navigating the small shop is very worth it though, because they make some of the best drinks I know off. I admittedly tend to order a lavender latte here since other shops only offer lavender seasonally (whereas lavender syrup is always available when I stop by Jitters). And it's always delicious - I love the coffee-milk-syrup ratio in their lattes. I typically just get a drink, although you could easily enjoy a nice coffee date here complete with a pastry or an ice cream. If you're near Shadyside, take advantage of it and visit this great shop - I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area! read more

I was walking this neighborhood with my son after a visit to a museum and decided to pop in for a drink and a snack. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cute little coffee shop surrounded by other businesses so it makes for a nice pit stop when you're already out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm an iced mocha girlie so I didn't really check the menu out thoroughly, but they did have the standard fare plus some fun things like Italian sodas and I think ice cream. The iced mocha was delicious, the staff was friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom is down stairs, down a kinda creepy hall. Delicious specialty coffees and such a lovely café. I've been here three times now. On a warm day, the outdoor tables are out, about five or six of them and they get full but turnover is pretty high. On a weekday morning, you might find two or three people in the café on the line. I'm a big fan of their specialty coffees, the spring flavors out now are delicious. Behind the counter, you can see a huge election of syrups, they can really make any flavor for you. Their pastries are pretty limited. I've tried them twice nothing to write home for but They are satisfying and go well with coffee of course. read more

I have been coming here since I moved to Pittsburgh and I just love love love Jitters. The location is great and close to so many things that I stop by a couple times a month while running errands for a quick treat. In the summer I love to get a crisp Italian soda with lavender and vanilla syrup or an iced orange oat milk latte (so good, try it!). I love that they have creative specials and offer an array of flavors to add to your drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of space to sit inside or outside. There are often people working on laptops or socializing, it's a really welcoming vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff are so friendly, and when it isn't busy I love having a little chat with my favorite baristas there. We were walking on foot in the Shadyside neighborhood when we stumbled onto Jitters Cafe. This is a laid-back, small coffee spot with no-frills (I mean that in the best way possible). It had a few tables inside filled with people working on their laptops. I grabbed a simple matcha latte and my partner had the drip coffee. The service was fast and both of our drinks were enjoyable. I liked their chalk drawings on the wall and their bags of coffee to-go. They also sold a selection of fresh pastries and bagels in the case. It shares a similar spot next to a nail salon, so it would be very fun to get your nails done than come here for coffee! Best coffee shop in Shadyside area!!!! Truly the only local spot (and I have tried sooo many) that I have been to that actually has good coffee/drinks AND listens to their costumers when they ask for more or less sweetener/syrup etc. the matcha with maple syrup is my favorite and go to drink here! The staff is also always so sweet :) read more

I have only had one coffee from here but it was pretty good. Had a nice light aftertaste. They have a nail salon inside that they partner with. You can enjoy a treat while you wait for your appointment. The staff are super nice and helpful, great with recommendations. read more

The coffee at Jitters is always well roasted. There's a depth of flavor without any burnt notes. Decaf is available all day (something you can't get at most shops) and is equally good. The staff are lovely and provide extra service as needed without being intrusive. Prices are lower than neighboring cafes. I tried their iced mocha for the first time yesterday, it was pretty good, so I came back for another one today. I haven't tried anything else yet. Their baristas are really nice. They have free Wi-Fi and a nice seating area so it's a great place to sit and study. read more

My girlfriend and I come here all the time since we live right near by. They have a great variety of teas which I love for the afternoon. Their oat milk lattes are also great! The staff is always friendly and I love getting to support a local business when we go. Definitely recommend! A little small to get work done but if you get in early you can get a table! read more

I got a caramel cold brew with almond milk and let..me...tell..you. They did that! The line was not long at all and the two gentlemen worked on everyone's drinks with care ! I really like Jitters a lot. I get my nails done in Shadyside and I always make sure to stop here when I do. Some reasons why I love going here: it is never too busy, they are super friendly and nice, and their lattes are always good! I just hate going to a coffee shop where you have to wait so long to even order. I feel like Jitters is kind of hidden from the main stream. I switch from hot and cold lattes; plain and with flavors, so I have really tried a big range of their lattes. I have yet to receive a latte from them I didn't like and I am pretty picky with my lattes. They have some delicious looking pastries as well but I have yet to try them. The prices are also very reasonable, especially for Shadyside. If you are in the are and craving some good coffee you need to try them out! read more

My partner and I currently trying out all of the best coffee shops in Pittsburgh and Jitters Cafe was the next stop! All three of our drinks were yummy and the pastries (which I believe are from Mediterra Cafe) were also good. I really appreciate how affordable everything is too. However, I'm giving 4/5 stars simply because there isn't really much charm, decor, or seating. I think that the personality of a coffee shop is really important and this is is just a bit plain. Because of the affordable prices and friendly staff though, I think this is a great spot for college students looking to grab a coffee for study time! my favorite place for lavender matcha lattes! great drink selection, they have a ton of flavors and special drinks. they also have pastries, coffee beans, and some snacks (e. g. bars) for sale as well. they're a pretty solid study spot. though the tables are small and it can get pretty loud and crowded (lots of people lining up for drinks, especially in late mornings), there's free wifi and outlets. the workers are all really friendly too, which is always a plus! read more

Great local business owner dedicated to providing service and supporting community. Just the type of folks I enjoy supporting when visiting. Good conversation about different styles&preference in drinks. Some good snack and pastry offerings when you need a bit more than a beverage. Stopped here with a friend on a visit to Pittsburgh. Plenty of open seating on a weekday afternoon! I got a matcha with lavender and it was nice, but my friend got a chai latte that was delicious! We got chocolate chip cookies too and those were so nice with the lattes. Loved it. read more

The coffee here is pretty good as far as I can tell. You get lots of options for different kinds of milk, so plant based diets are supported, very nice. The guy serving coffee filled my cup way to high and it spilled all over the counter. It is good that they don't skimp on the coffee, but if it was too hot I would have burned my hand because it went on my hand as well. It seems like a nice little spot to go other than the faux pas. It is right next to a hair dresser, so you could get your hair done and then get some coffee. That seems convenient. read more

I've been here before when I was really young with my mom, and I came back today with my boyfriend; we had such a great experience! The workers were very pleasant and made our visit 10x better. I asked for advice on what to get, and our barista surprised me with a wonderful London fog tea latte, which has become a new favorite drink of mine! It was absolutely delicious, I want another right now. We got a great seat outside in the sun, and they brought our drinks right out to us. Amazing service! I'm looking forward to coming back and trying new things similar to the latte I got. My boyfriend got the cafe caramel and loved it. Needless to say I wish there was a jitters closer to my house than Starbucks. I would come here for my coffee every day if I could. read more

Cool little gem hidden in a corner of shadyside. While making our way back from a day of exploring shops on the block, my daughter and I noticed jitters cafe. We decided to hop in for a drink to take along on our drive home. The menu had all types of coffee as well as cookies and pastries. My 5 year old daughter got a pop, which was in an old fashioned glass bottle. She thought it was the coolest thing she had ever seen and decided to use the bottle as a vase! I decided on an iced white chocolate mocha. The bill came to 7$. I have to say the staff was some of the nicest people I have ever met. I was trying to carry a pizza, ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, as well as a tea set from the toy store. The workers were so helpful offering me an extra bag and even putting my straw in my drink. Great little no-frills coffee shop with reasonable prices, friendly staff, and most importantly, great coffee! My wife and I stopped in after lunch for a quick pick-me-up, and everything about the experience went great - fast service, helpful barista, and good taste! On my daughter's recommendation we visited Jitters on our recent trip to Pittsburgh and we were not disappointed! Cold brew and Iced Latte were perfect and the bacon burrito was delicious! Jitters is delicious hand crafted coffee. The staff is attentive, quick and true craftsmanship. The coffee is delicious. My favorite is their honey lavender latte. My husband and I were customers of this cafe in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood one time. The menu listed coffees, espressos, lattes, teas, hot cocoa, cookies, muffins, scones, sandwiches, etcetera. A refrigerator contained yogurts, juices, oat milk, and other bottled beverages. Shelves held bags of coffees and kettles. Employees kindly took my husband's order and payment and promptly made our beverages. Some tables and chairs were inside the cafe, so we sat down to enjoy our beverages. Other customers were using the dining area to read, spend time with family and friends, and work on laptops. I rate the Chai Latte has 5 stars and the holiday Sugar Plum Latte as 4.5 stars. We enjoyed their flavors. Each beverage was 12 ounces, and their total price was $11 plus tax and tip. I did notice that the cafe was very humid because of the cold weather outside and the many customers inside. The windows had much condensation. I wonder if a dehumidifer would reduce the indoor humidity.

The front has some wicker chairs and tables which are very small. As you move toward the back there are small sitting rooms where you take off your shoes and sit on a padded "floor". The back has some more chairs and tables. Outlets are hard to find. You most likely will share a sitting area as well. One note is, I think they have a wifi limit where only a certain number of people can connect. I tried all night to get a connection and could not for any of my devices, nor could my friend. Overall the ambiance is catered toward chatting rather than studying as the tables are very small and slow or no wifi. I like the night vibes it has though, we need more late night 3rd spaces like this one!! I got a hummus plate and ginger tea. The ginger tea was just okay. The ginger was overpowering in not a good way. It highlighted the spiciness of ginger without letting any type of "tea flavor" through. It tasted more like ginger water. For a tea house, I thought it would have more depth. The hummus platter was very yummy! The pita was warm and the olive oil on the hummus added a nice touch to it. I think I would have enjoyed the experience more had the tables not been as wobbly, the WiFi worked at any point, the tea had a bit more nuance to it, and the cloying smell wasn't there. It is a very good chatting spot for late night meetings ups with great food!

I honestly have not been in the area much lately and was surprised to see its prime location on South Highland in that East Liberty, Shadyside and Friendship corridor. The inside of the shop was packed by the time we got inside so I did not get to see much of it other than the coffee bar and the large selection of baked goods. For my coffee this morning I went with a butter beer cold brew while my wife went with an iced Almond Joy latte. The menu described mine as cold brew with butterscotch syrup and cheesecake sweet cream. My wife's was described as just like the candy bar with dark chocolate and coconut topped with coconut flakes. My coffee actually ended up tasting pretty good. The butterscotch tasted somewhat similar to caramel but the cold brew was definitely the star. It was rich and strong which I always appreciate. The cheesecake sweet cream was also a nice addition as it was sweet like you would expect but also had a bit of tartness that reminded me of actual cheesecake. My wife also enjoyed her coffee and especially liked the combination of chocolate, coconut and coffee flavors. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed our drinks and I would definitely be interested in trying some of the pastries next time.

They make the most out of the space they have in this bustling shady side neighborhood. Where they really stole my heart was having a full nonalcoholic bar with complex drinks like takes on an espresso martini and old fashioned made with NA spirits. So so good. They are going to rotate food concepts in their kitchen here but first up was Mortadella and I got a veggie sandwich that might be the best I've ever had.
