Any time I cross the rivers and venture near Shadyside, I try to make a trip to Jitters Cafe. I love this little coffee shop so much - and I do mean little; space in Jitters is very limited. The counter itself is small, there are only a handful of tables, and there isn't really a good spot to stand out of the way to wait for your drink. I inevitably get asked if I'm in line when I'm actually waiting for my order. Navigating the small shop is very worth it though, because they make some of the best drinks I know off. I admittedly tend to order a lavender latte here since other shops only offer lavender seasonally (whereas lavender syrup is always available when I stop by Jitters). And it's always delicious - I love the coffee-milk-syrup ratio in their lattes. I typically just get a drink, although you could easily enjoy a nice coffee date here complete with a pastry or an ice cream. If you're near Shadyside, take advantage of it and visit this great shop - I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area!

I was walking this neighborhood with my son after a visit to a museum and decided to pop in for a drink and a snack. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cute little coffee shop surrounded by other businesses so it makes for a nice pit stop when you're already out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm an iced mocha girlie so I didn't really check the menu out thoroughly, but they did have the standard fare plus some fun things like Italian sodas and I think ice cream. The iced mocha was delicious, the staff was friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom is down stairs, down a kinda creepy hall. My son said it has "backrooms vibes" which I guess is a good thing?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can see myself coming back next time I'm in town!

I have been coming here since I moved to Pittsburgh and I just love love love Jitters. The location is great and close to so many things that I stop by a couple times a month while running errands for a quick treat. In the summer I love to get a crisp Italian soda with lavender and vanilla syrup or an iced orange oat milk latte (so good, try it!). I love that they have creative specials and offer an array of flavors to add to your drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of space to sit inside or outside. There are often people working on laptops or socializing, it's a really welcoming vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff are so friendly, and when it isn't busy I love having a little chat with my favorite baristas there. Always welcoming, always so nice. Prices aren't bad, there's so many options, always friendly staff, and a great location - I'll miss Jitters so much if I ever leave the city.

We were walking on foot in the Shadyside neighborhood when we stumbled onto Jitters Cafe. This is a laid-back, small coffee spot with no-frills (I mean that in the best way possible). It had a few tables inside filled with people working on their laptops. I grabbed a simple matcha latte and my partner had the drip coffee. The service was fast and both of our drinks were enjoyable. I liked their chalk drawings on the wall and their bags of coffee to-go. They also sold a selection of fresh pastries and bagels in the case. It shares a similar spot next to a nail salon, so it would be very fun to get your nails done than come here for coffee! They have a great location amongst several other local Shadyside businesses and it makes for an easy tour of local spots in the neighborhood. Good spot to stop and grab a coffee.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute and quaint inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was great. The madeleine latte is delicious! I had mine prepared over ice and it was perfectly sweet (but not too sweet) and almond-y tasting. Loved it as an after lunch/dinner treat!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little coffee shop - inside is a bit small but is super quiet & intimate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be returning on my next trip to Pittsburgh!

Super nice service. Did not like the coffee at all, which is all that matters in the end. Dumped it after a few sips.

Way too sweet. Price is decent though. I didn't get any caffeine kick from what I got.

We were down the street enjoying a great calzone and some beers and we kept seeing people walk by with ice cream. So when we left we found the place...we had no idea what we had found. Inside the two ladies were cheerful and greeted us with smiles. They gave us tastes of several different options and we each chose the one we wanted. Payment was easy and there were opportunities to stay inside if you preferred. The night we went it was a lovely and cool evening so we walked back to our apartment eating the most delicious dairy free ice cream I never knew existed.

Several great spots I know carry these ice cream sandwiches (Pittsburgh Taco Boys, Burghers in Millvale, among numerous others. I tried my first Leona's sandwich from the Millvale restaurant). Some supermarkets carry them too, I think. I had their lemon meringue ice cream sandwich. Man, it's really good. The sandwich part is sturdy and holds all the great ice cream together. The ice cream is fresh and flavorful, and quite sweet. I just really enjoyed it. Yes, decently pricey but high quality, so I think it's worth it.

I was having a real "Pittsburgh Proud" moment at this ice cream spot. I loved reading about the…read morehistory of the business and looking through all of the vintage advertisements and memorabilia outside the shop. My first thought after visiting was that I should have come here sooner, and my second thought was already deciding what I want to order next time. I am already planning to order the peanut butter soft serve with warm fudge and a warm cookie after being inspired by their chocolate chip cookie sundae advertisement and will need to ask about what the strawberry shortcake situation is all about as well. For years, I watched the long lines outside and wondered what all the hype was about. Sometimes you don't get it until you "get it" - and now I get it. Fortunately for us, there was barely any line when we arrived even though it was a hot summer day. Even better, it's only about a one-hour walk from my house. The service was also fast and friendly and the employee who helped us was pleasant the whole time which added to the overall experience. I was especially impressed by the peanut butter soft serve. The flavor was rich and pronounced without compromising the smooth, creamy texture of the soft serve. It was everything I would want peanut butter soft serve ice cream to be. I was also surprised by how many soft-serve flavors they offer. Most places have only a few options, but there was plenty to choose from here. That said, it's hard for me to order anything other than the peanut butter soft serve now that I know how much I love it. One thing to know is that they do not offer free samples because the flavors are made to order. Something else to know is that the small sized cone held noticeably more ice cream than the small cup despite being the same price - so if you can I suggest the cone over the cup if you want more ice cream for the same price. I originally chose the cup because my hands weren't clean, but I later realized the cones come with a plastic protector around them anyway. All in all, this is one of those places that lives up to its reputation, and I highly recommend coming here if you are an ice cream aficionado.
