Possibly the most incompetent, unresponsive, company I've ever worked with. Their "supervisor" stated that a cleanup would take about a week. The crew showed up late in the morning and took frequent breaks before leaving each day at around 2:30. After a month of this clown show, our insurance adjuster advised having them leave. I refused to let their reconstruction team into our home for the second part of the restoration. I guess they don't need the business. One last thing. We contacted another general contractor to supervise the reconstruction. Commonwealth Restoration was brought back in to clean up one last time. Our water was shut off and their folks defecated in an upstairs toilet and covered things with paper towel. I suppose that's their professional way to send a message. Our insurance company and general contractor have been notified that this disreputable company should be avoided at all costs. I wish that I could award them a zero star rating. read more

The subcontractors they hired did decent work but CRS itself is horrible. What should have been completed in 2 days took 2 weeks. I was given time a contractor would be out several times. Does not appear they have any control over the subcontractors and make promises they can't keep. Very frustrating and very expense for the level of service they provided. I can't remember the last time I wrote a review, if ever, but my experience with Commonwealth Restoration Specialists was SO BAD that I felt I had to warn others away. The business is broken into two parts- one team handles mold remediation and is run by a guy named Cameron. The other team handles the contractor services to rebuild after the remediation and they're run buy the owner, Kevin. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because Cameron and his team were actually pretty great as far as response time went. And as far as I can tell, they did a good job of eradicating my mold problem. Only time will tell if that holds up. The real problems began when Kevin's team took over the rebuild process. I had mold under the two additions in my home- a laundry room and a former porch turned office. The floor of the laundry room had to be stripped down to subfloor and the office had one wall that got stripped down to studs and a window that needed to be put back in correctly. Everything on Kevin's end was a nightmare. His office help, a woman named Jessica, was super nice but new and clearly not great at her job. I didn't get a corrected itemized contract until the end of the job and I had to practically harass them to get it. I was told multiple times that Jessica would reach out to set an appointment to go over paint and flooring choices, but the most I ever got was a text. I didn't meet her in person until the final walk-through. The paint job was bad, the caulking was awful. After the job was done but before the final walk-through we had a heavy rain which ruined all the work done in the office. Kevin (finally) came out for the final walk through and in 30 seconds proclaimed that the problem was my gutter. Why NO ONE realized that in the THREE PLUS months the job went on I do not know. There wasn't a project manager until about a week before the job ended. Kevin said he'd "take care of the gutter for me," but what he really meant was he would charge me an extra fee. I ended up getting someone else to do the work because I didn't trust him. The one time I was supposed to meet with Kevin before the work started he didn't show up and didn't answer his phone until 30 minutes after our meeting time, which I had left work in the middle of the day for. They STILL have my spare key despite the fact that I reached out to them after the job was done to have it returned. Kevin tried to tell me I owed about $1400 that I had previously paid in the down payment. I had to literally walk him through the math and get backed up by his new project manager. Guaranteed that if I had overpaid, no one would have caught it or admitted to it. I'm repainting the office because I don't love the color I chose, but also because their paint job was so bad. I have to take breaks every few minutes to try to calm down because I find something else that was done poorly. All in all, the project cost me around $11,000 and took more than three months. I recently had a very disappointing experience with CRS and I feel compelled to share my negative review. Firstly, their customer service was extremely poor. I had to wait on hold for an extended period of time just to speak with a representative, and when I finally did get through, they were unhelpful and seemed disinterested in addressing my concerns. It was clear that they did not prioritize customer satisfaction. Furthermore, the quality of their work was subpar. I hired them to mitigate a mold issue in my home, but the problem was not fully resolved. Mold continued to grow in the same area even after their supposed mitigation efforts. It was evident that they did not properly assess the situation or provide an effective solution. Additionally, their pricing was exorbitant for the level of service they provided. I compared their rates to other mitigation companies in the area and found that CRS charged significantly more for similar services. It felt like they were taking advantage of the situation and overcharging customers. Overall, my experience with CRS was extremely disappointing. Their lack of customer service, poor quality of work, and high pricing make them an unreliable and unsatisfactory choice for mitigation services. I would strongly advise against using their services and recommend seeking out a more reputable and competent company. On top of that the workers reeked of marijuana and cigarettes and left the butts on my property. What an awful odor that was coming from those guys. read more

NEVER, NEVER let Commonwealth Restoration Specialists (CRS) in your home or business!! CRS talks a good talk, but that's all it is just talk. A project that should have only taken 1.5 to 2 months maximum took 3.5 months to complete and I had to go out and find another contractor to complete their stalled project. During my home repairs I went through 3 project managers. The CRS owner, Kevin Ayscue, is an outright liar. Subcontractors hired by CRS are incompetent, unprofessional and untrustworthy. The subs left my home unlocked and unsecured at the end of the work day on numerous occasions. They just up and left my house open for anyone to walk in and steal whatever they wanted.
