First it should be couple weeks job which turned into months. What's really not acceptable is that in their quote it's supposed to cover everything but they told me their job is done without putting back carpet pad where it was cut out during the repair process and the carpet is still not adhered back to floor. The team that came out last week did not really clean or sanitize the contents of the office that was effected by the water, nor did they clean the bathroom. It was filthy when they left. Chris Fleming, the project manager, came back out and saw the mess and immediately requested that dispatch send another team out. Diego and Wilbur came today. Dispatch told me before they came that they are an A+ team. They were absolutely wonderful. They cleaned the bathroom until it was spotless. They had to tear out a bit more of the paneling in the basement and some more ceiling tiles and they cleaned and sanitized EVERYTHING in that basement. Our 3 year old decided to create a swimming pool in our kitchen destroying our floors with about 1/2 inch of water. We got in touch with Servpro, mitigation crew led by Nancy quickly responded, dried floor and destroyed the mold that had grown as a result of the incident. Even when the demo crew accidentally broke our stove handle, the team were quick to replace free of charge. As we were exploring flooring replacement options, Donovan provided us with stellar advice on flooring options when he gave an estimate for recon. As we began the restoration process, Malachi provided us with a flooring expert from Costen's who helped us make our flooring choice easily. When the flooring guys found more mold and a rotten subfloor, Malachi kicked a** in quickly getting the mitigation team back out and quickly fixed the issue, including the rotten subfloor. Do not use Servpro in the Richmond, VA area. Bare with me on the long post, but its worth reading and learning what we went through which could change your decision on who you chose for home damage/repair work. Note, I never post reviews on yelp or social media but this is beyond acceptable service and if we can help one family from making this mistake its worth the time to share our story. 1. The Background: We had a dishwasher water leak that caused floor and cabinet damage in our kitchen. I'll start on a positive note that the team who did the drying out service and ensuring all mold was removed was good. However, they offer services to repair all the damages which I would recommend anyone to stay away from and find another contractor. Our issue started in June of 2024 and its nearly November of 2024 (so 5 months) and we are still waiting for our kitchen repairs to be completed. Contractors can build an entire house in 5 months, but apparently ServPro can't repair a kitchen in that time. 2. The floor: ServPro installed flooring that we picked out. We were made aware of mid-way through the install that the flooring we chose needs a different subfloor. They said they could rip it up and we buy something else or we could pay to change all the sub-flooring at our own cost. We couldn't return used wood flooring and not afford all new sub-flooring, so we had to move forward with what we had at the time. We now have new flooring that is already showing "soft spots" and separating and will need to be replaced. This should have been shared and discussed BEFORE the floor was installed. They put all the blame on us for choosing this flooring and will do nothing about it. 3. Kitchen floor removal and non-damaged cabinets: When the old floor was removed they used a heavy duty tool to pull it up. When they did this in the kitchen they caused our non-damaged cabinets to be removed from the wall as the old flooring butted up to the cabinets. They denied they caused this damage for weeks until they finally admitted it was most likely caused from removal and they would repair. Honestly, what else would cause these to come off the wall beyond what they did during removal? Seems pretty straight forward what the cause was but they denied for weeks. 4. Water damaged cabinets: They sent out a team to remove/repair the cabinets first. This repair was shown in the work order to be $2000 for repair of 3 standard cabinets, which seems really high to me as you could just buy new for cheaper. They came out three times and attempted to install subpar repairs and it was determined by our granite contractor that they would not install the granite due to the poor quality and levelness of the cabinets. After months of going back and forth ServPro agreed to buy new cabinets as their team could not get it right. 5. New cabinets: Once it was determined that they would just replace instead of repair the team came out to measure, and working with us, to pick out replacements. It was showing that the cabinets would take about 1 week to arrive from Home Depot. 1 week goes by, no update from ServPro, 2 weeks go by but no update from ServPro, 3 weeks go by and we eventually called them to find out what is going on. We were told they would get back to us with an update. Another week pasts with no updates. So we called Home Depot ourselves to find out what was taking so long and discovered ServPro NEVER ORDERED THE CABINETS! We called our GC and he said he forgot to order them. We are now a month and a half of waiting for cabinets and still nothing. 6. Granite: We were made aware that its possible that the granite could be damaged beyond repair once removed and that was the case. This we believe is partly due to how they "braced" the granite once the cabinets were removed with a make shift 2x4 to hold up hundreds of pounds of granite while waiting for new cabinets. I will note that we have a young child and pets where this temporary brace could easily have been knocked out of place and caused serious harm. Even our GC was shocked at the temp brace solution and took pictures to send to his team. 7. Pricing and billing: We paid nearly $7k upfront to get the work started in June of 2024. In October of 2024 we get a bill in the mail that we need to pay the remainder $6k+ to them by end of the month. We obviously are not paying anything until all work is completed correctly. 8. Summary: We are now in month 5 of not having running water or full access to our kitchen and floors that are already falling apart. We literally have to run a water hose from outside into our temp sink to do dishes. It has been nothing but dismiss, lack of empathy, false promises, unexplainable poor project management, and overall the worst customer service I have ever seen from a company in my entire life. TLDR: If you are an insurance provider - do not recommend this company. If you are someone in need of home restoration - do not hire this franchise under any circumstances. The scam is evident: they undercut their bid to get you into a contract and then jack the pricing up astronomically. We should have been out of our house for 3 months and instead we were displaced for A YEAR. After signing a contract for $60k and month EIGHT of ZERO work being accomplished, they told us our roof was going to cost $90k (the original bid was $14k). This is "information" they would have known in month TWO when they removed all of the drywall on our top floor and confirmed no additional damage was noted. We found that the company they suggested had their licensed revoked, had a ridiculously sketchy logo and the address was someone's home. When asked to supply line items to justify the jump in cost, they told us it wasn't custom to do so and they "couldn't find anyone to do the job for less." Funny enough, with no contacts of our own we were able to find 3 companies who could do the roof for $25k. On top of that, a contractor came by to ask some questions and said THEY had bid for the job at $20k and ServPro never got back to them. We have all of this in writing. Their complete ineptitude left us project managing the job on our own while still having to pay them. No one submitted permits. No one scheduled electrical work. No one gave us a timeline. No one apologized. No one cared. We fired them from majority of the exterior and just found people on our own. Then the week before we were finally going to move back in they FLOODED OUR TOP FLOOR and left it overnight so it leaked through the second floor, destroyed dry wall on the first floor, and leaked through the subflooring all the way into our basement. They tried to blame this on us, but ultimately had to eat the cost...which they then tried to sneak into extra billing outside of our invoices and by contacting our insurance claiming they were owed funds that we had paid in full (which we had the checks to prove). It is no stretch of the imagination when I say that not one single thing went well while working with them. Even down to receiving an email attachment. This franchise is run by inept, greedy, fraudulent crooks with absolutely no sense of human decency and certainly no sense of urgency. Caveat emptor - I'm sure they'll have to Google that one. read more

I highly suggest that you DO NOT use this Servpro for your mitigation needs. There are too many other mitigation companies out there. This Servpro put my family in danger, refused to take responsibility, and charged us top dollar for the service. The vinyl flooring under our hardwood floors tested positive for asbestos. The servpro technicians disturbed the vinyl, did not properly seal or cover the vinyl, and put fans on top of the vinyl to dry it. Once disturbed wet vinyl that contains asbestos dries, it then becomes friable. Because there were fans on the vinyl, the friable fibers were blown around our kitchen and home for 3 days. Once I realized the danger, I asked servpro to remove their equipment. When I received the top dollar invoice, I reached out to several of the managers. The franchise division operations manager, Aaron Lee, responded and defended the work his technicians performed, did not pick up the phone and call me, did not ask to see the photo proof, or consider that a mistake may have been made. Aaron defended their service, stated that they followed proper protocol and did not fail to properly mitigate. To date, Aaron will not acknowledge why the disturbed areas of vinyl were not properly sealed or covered. When one of the project managers removed the equipment, 3 days later, he sealed the areas per protocol with blue painters' tape and apologized that it was not properly sealed on day one. Several project managers, in total, expressed that this was not proper protocol and understood why we were upset. I asked servpro to remove their equipment after 3 days of negligence and the division operations manager, Aaron Lee, responded that I did not allow them to complete the job to ensure the safety of my family. He refuses to see that my family was already put at risk due to the job his technicians performed. I obtained a hepa vacuum and spent hours cleaning our home for the safety of my family and a child with severe allergies and asthma. I want to make sure that no other families are put in danger in a situation such as this. I was fortunate enough to have someone come into my home and bring this matter to my attention. I understand that mistakes are made, but the franchise division operations manager refusing to acknowledge the mistake or even entertain the idea that a mistake may have been made is concerning and why I would not trust this company to do your job. I was advised to let this go because servpro always wins, but consumers need to understand what they are dealing with when choosing a mitigation company. I wish we had known. Keep looking! read more

I am not in the habit of posting reviews, but I feel my experience with ServPro warrants a "Public Service Announcement". The constant runaround, poor project management, poor communication, and poor scheduling caused me to adjust my work schedule and child care, which cost me more than just time. Losing time with work and paying for child care due to "PPP" (Piss Poor Planning) on ServPro's part cost me time and money I will never get back. My two daughters (one with asthma) had to live with mold in the air for so long...I really don't know what else to say other than "what the hell ServPro?". They did not care about me, my family, or my time. Here is a synopsis of my experience: January 2021 - a massive leak occurred in a bathroom that warranted the whole shower/tub combo be replaced. Project manager at the time failed to order the tub/shower combo in time, and had us wait a few more weeks until it was finally delivered, and was installed. October 2023 - Mold accumulation around the shower/tub combo and surrounding dry wall, and mold accumulation in the closet in the next room (my infant daughter's) that shares a wall with the bathroom. * I call ServPro to advise of the mold accumulation, they state that we are "out of the work warranty period" and it will not be covered, but they will send a project manager to investigate anyways. * Project manager arrives, advises the crew should have used "Purple Board", a moisture resistant wall material that should have been used instead of dry wall. She advises that it should be covered. * I hear nothing from the project manager for a week, call her, and she advises the Purple Board will not be covered because it is not required by code, but the labor to fix and install it will be. I reluctantly agree. At this point, ServPro also advises the mold in my infant daughter's room was caused by bat droppings in the attic, which I paid to have cleaned/fixed separately. November 2023 - I have heard nothing from the project manager about getting our project on the schedule. I text to follow up several times, to which she gives a placeholder response "I will give you a call later today", which she only followed through on once to say she will get us on the schedule. January 2024 - fed up with being given the runaround by the project manager, I call ServPro and demand to be put on the schedule, MOLD is still in my daughter's bathroom as a result of faulty installation from 2021. They assign a new project manager. * To his credit, the new project manager got the ball rolling on our project very quickly. However, then ensued the poor project management. * Our project includes mold removal, purple board installation, repaint (paint I paid for with an understanding it would be taken off the final bill) and a new fan which I would have to pay for due to the one we had not functioning properly - I sign the project agreement * Crew comes out to execute these items, but the project manager fails to convey to the subcontractors that a fan was to be installed as well, so it was not done. * I text the project manager that the fan was not installed, to which he states was not part of the project. I had to send him a screen shot of the agreement to show that it was indeed part of it. * At this point, he has to schedule yet another subcontractor to come out and install the fan. It is important to note that I chose a fan that cost more than the project allowance, as I wanted a nicer one that could handle more. * New subcontractor comes out, installs fan. * Project manager comes out days later to inspect, and I remind him that the paint is to be deducted from the bill. He takes a picture of my receipt. April 2024 - ongoing dispute with ServPro over the bill, which I will be paying today to draw an end to this horrible saga. I sent email after email to management advising of this horrible project management. I am so done. read more

first let me say these are my experiences with Servpro I have been working with Servpro since the beginning of August we contacted them because we have had a chimney leak which has caused damage to our floors and walls in our home from the very beginning of dealing with Servpro there's been one excuse after another in efficient scheduling preparing and executing the work needed to be done to dry my home and my floors I had contacted many in the upper management finally contacting the owner of the franchise Mr. mcduffy I was met with more excuses condescending attitude I sent Mr. mcduffy pictures of their employees leaving my house connecting their dehumidifier to an empty and a Bandan drain that was not connected to anything laying on a stud on a piece of asbestos flooring with an electrical outlet laying within inches of the drain and went home for the day how do I not noticed it it could've burnt my house down I said pictures to Mr. McDuffie of their equipment being full and unable to collect any moisture from the air because I have been sitting in my home for a month not emptied Mr. McDuffie never felt it necessary to contact me in person about the fact that my home could've been burned down I said pictures I have saved all pictures and videos of this debacle I will be posting a few just so you can understand what is happened to my family and I in our Servpro experience read more

Have been "working" with them for almost a year to get a house fire taken care of. They quoted to my insurance company a 2 month project. It's been 10 months and they are still far from done. The company doesn't respond to messages, doesn't update on progress, doesn't reach out for things they need from me. The company took the insurance money in April and quit working, essentially. Have talked to management and gotten the same run around. Broken promises, straight up lies, and no progress. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. My husband and I had a house fire about 6 months ago. ServePro came in and cleaned up for the fire and also took all of our belongings (other than clothes, linens, etc- a separate company handed this) to clean. ServePro cleaned, stored, and returned our items when we moved back into our house. Our project manager, Justin, was responsive and quick to assist. Some of our items came back damaged or didn't clean up properly (this is to be expected as we had quite a bit of soot damage) and they were willing to work with us in order to get replacements. This company was hired to pack up and remove my things. They agreed to take the job knowing I had a lot of stuff and that it would need to be put back where I could find and in the same condition. They have damaged my furniture and fail to take responsibility for it. Bob the so called manager has come to my home twice and each time he has been rude along with Thomas. He tried to bully me. I find his behavior both provocative and threatening. I have pictures and video of everything as well as tape recordings. Called the said owner and he was also rude and dismissive of my claims. I do have supporting evidence as well as a witness, their own employee Kathy acknowledged that the furniture was not damaged. (I have that on recording also.)They have piled stuff on my upstairs beds and treadmill. Took apart my computer desk upstairs and made it a bookcase. They have left my furniture in the rain. I am disabled and should not have to navigate the stairs to find my things, nor should I have to deal with the damage to my things because they think I have to much stuff. They have blocked my door upstairs creating a hazard for me. All my beds are filled with stuff that they put on there after being told not to. Closet doors are down and no insulation was put back, nor was my furniture cleaned from the water damage. My bed has marks and nicks in it from them handling. This is just the short of the situation.
