My iced latte hit the spot! This location offers a nice variety of coffee & latte - such a Lavender flavored. The server was helpful in providing details when asked about the method, also there is plenty of seating for sipping and chatting with a group of friends. They also offer breakfast & lunch sandwiches. Grab a seat near the window for great light and people watch.

Very affordable and comfortable space to WFH or meet up with friends. Has some good vegan options. Service is quick and everyone is friendly.

The perfect place to work from home! I wasn't in the biggest mood for coffee today, so can't comment on that, but the other patrons were speaking of how great the coffee and pastries were I opened got a blueberry jasmine kombucha and it was very tasty! Power was a bit difficult to find, bur seating was ample and bright, which was a plus for me! I can see myself coming to this place often! Parking was great in the back! Prices were reasonable (cup of Joe for less than $3) Customer service was great as well!

The community grounds Café is an asset to their community friendly environment, free Internet service, free parking , clean tables very clean bathrooms and everyone that goes there is very friendly as if they are your neighbor! The food there is very healthy and prepared in a clean environment. Their coffees and tea are very good selection. I highly recommend.

I decided to support a local business instead of Starbucks as I was in dire need of caffeine. I've known of Community Grounds but have never been, so decided to give it a shot. It's attached to the Carvers Food Market near Chosewood Park. Besides coffee, they also offer breakfast and lunch items, plus the typical pastries. I ordered an iced medium sugar free vanilla latte with oat milk. To my surprise, I was shocked when my total only cost $5 and some change. They will give you a ticket with your order number and you wait for your number to be called. There were a few orders ahead of me, but only waited around 5 mins until I got mine. My latte was pretty good and the jolt of caffeine I needed. The drink was a little too sweet for my liking, so I think I'll ask for just 1 pump of syrup next time (I'm assuming they did 2-3 pumps for a medium sized drink). There are tons of parking available too, which always helps!

#LakewoodLatte is my favorite drink right now YUM!

It's a whole vibe. Only place in this community where you can get fresh veggies and produce, coffee, pastries, and great conversation. Love the staff AND the eats. We need more like this!!!

Folks here were very attentive to us as we sat down outside one of the guys brought out an umbrella to give us a little shade against the sun. We ordered a couple of paninis and I had coffee and then we all really chowed down. Community grounds had hanging art for sale and free WiFi. Due to C19 there were no seats available inside. The location is at the start of the historic southern Atlanta trail. Can't wait to drive down that another day.

I think this is my greatest food find since moving to this side of town. There is no Starbucks near (we all know how scarce they get in black neighbors) and guess what it hasn't effected me at all. #1 I love the staff. They are so personable and eclectic. Just real folks serving their community. It truly is a beautiful thing. Now just best service is first please don't get confused the tasty available on the menu. The pastries are flaky buttery goodness that everyone should have in their life. The quality of the ingredients in the food is above average and the coffee and specialty drinks are top notch.

Very friend staff, tasty drinks! Setting: this Grocer+Coffeeshop combo is pocketed in the Urban-Suburban area of South Atlanta. The place is eccentrically decorate and provides a hip-modern feel. Food: I had an overloaded caramel frappe. Very rich and very sweet. Service: very friendly staff. I spoke with one of the clerks about their engagement with local artists in Atlanta, and I'm excited to see what they have in store. Cost: reasonably priced food and drinks!

Community Grounds is a nice little coffee shop in South Atlanta that was established in 2009. It's aptly named because it was built to serve the local community. This is a charitable non-profit (501(c)(3) organization) from FCS (Focused Community Strategies) Urban Ministries in Atlanta. Community Grounds shares space with a small grocery store, Carver Neighborhood Market. I would've never ventured down this way if it wasn't for Yelp Atlanta Community Manager Jonathan T introducing the Yelp Atlanta community to this coffeehouse through one of his CMYEs (Community Manager Yelp Events). It was the perfect spot for our meetup as the coffeehouse is designed with community groups and community events in mind. Like other low budget, independent coffee shops, the space inside Community Grounds is a mishmash of old household furniture. It feels warm, comfortable, and inviting. It's a place where you can meet up, unwind, and relax or study/work thanks to their free Wi-Fi. The space is clean, naturally well lit from big street-facing windows, and minimally decorated with a subtle Christian motif and artwork (for sale) by local artists. Coffee selections include house-brewed, French press, cafe au lait; espresso-based drinks such as Americano, espresso con panna (with cream), macchiato, and cappuccino; blended and iced drinks like Frappuccino, iced latte, and iced mocha. In addition, there's tea (e.g. chai latte), smoothies, and special drinks such as the "Sweet Vanilla Dream," hot chocolate, and Coconut Cocoa Iced Coffee (the latter I saw as a seasonal special). There's also a self-serve fridge with assorted juices (e.g. Arden's Garden). The coffee and drinks are affordably priced -- from as little as a couple dollars for coffee to just $3-4 for a large latte. There's a limited selection of food too. The counter stocks various breads and pastries like muffins, croissants, biscotti, and Danishes. The kitchen makes-to-order breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The breakfast sandwiches are a steal at $1.50-$2.50 a pop and the lunch sandwiches never eclipse five bucks. Jeez. They seem to have all the requisite fancy coffee machines and equipment, source organic fair-trade coffee beans, and all orders/payments are handled over a touchscreen device. Figure that one out. The Southern-Style Chicken Biscuit I had here was simple and delicious. For just a couple bucks, I got a freshly griddled fried chicken patty + flattened and buttered biscuit with a side of Smucker's Concord Grape Jelly. This was a true Southern biscuit sandwich. It hit the spot as did the iced latte macchiato. I'm no coffee connoisseur, but I thought Community Grounds' iced latte macchiato was pretty much perfect in terms of taste and enjoyment. It had the ideal amount of ice and milkiness to me. Service is excellent. The staff is cool and friendly. The immediate neighborhood feels safe and there's plenty of parking in the attached paved lot. If you're looking for a good coffee shop in South Atlanta, Community Grounds is it.

My iced coffee and the kale sandwich.

I was driving around and happened upon this place one day. I got an iced vanilla latte with soy milk and a kale sandwich. I believe turkey was in the sandwich as well. Both were excellent! The service was nice as well. There is also a little supermarket attached to it, I think to also serve the community! There was plenty of space and definitely seems to be a local staple. If you're ever out this way, it's worth a stop in!

Since the back wall is all windows there's plenty of natural light, and the metal sign makes for a great photo opportunity. I've had the food in the past and haven't loved it but the drinks are stellar. My go-to is the Iced Caramel Crème. It is in the sweeter side, but if you like caramel coffee, you will be wowed. All of the iced drinks come in the clear branded cups, which allows you to see the beverage in its full glory. There are benches inside to sit at and moveable tables to rest your food and drink on, but I wouldn't think this is a great place to sit and do work. However, if you're catching up with a friend, it works great for that. There are also sometimes tables outside if the weather permits. You can gain entry by using the backdoor garage entry or the entry near their patio area. Unfortunately, when I visited it was pouring and I didn't realize that the former was possible, leaving me to fight the rain once I found the patio entry. Foxtail is not a huge space but they offer a number of slim tables, barstools and two different seating areas with big, comfy chairs. It was easy to grab a seat, even with an 11am rush. There only 2-3 team members working, but they were all very nice and so patient as I stared at the menu with indecisiveness. The menu offered a variety of teas and coffees, along with a display of pastries and a number of sandwich options. After seeing that they served banana matcha, I had to see if I could add banana flavor to my latte - I could! So I started with a banana latte with oat milk + a ham, cheese and egg croissant. My latte was so delicious, I went back for a 2nd cup not too long after. My croissant was delicious as well. This is really a great place to do some remote work or to conduct meetings. The vibe was calm and creative, with just the right energy for working or people-watching along the BeltLine. The music was on point too, though it really depends on who's working--some days the playlist is an A+. My only real issue? The outlets.
