Their service department is so bad, that i will never buy a Honda again. Even Honda Corporate wasn't of any help. Several trips in for a 2024 Honda Ridgeline still under warranty about wind sounds pouring into my vehicle via driver's side door. They replaced the seal twice (they say) yet the noise persists.... so they didn't troubleshoot well enough to find the source of the noise i guess. I've had both my wife and my father test both driving in the driver's seat, and riding in the passenger seat, and all of us can hear a noticeable difference: crackling wind noises pouring through the driver side door akin to if you had a window not closed all the way. They also lied to me and assured me on the 3rd visit that the foreman himself was going to ride in my vehicle to ensure that this time the issue was completely fixed. when i arrived back to pick up my vehicle, my service member told me the foreman wasn't able to get in my vehicle to test to make sure it was fixed, but that it sounded good to him and his buddy...... That's not what i was promised, and my issue remains. Called Honda corporate and they were absolutely no help either... I have to eat the gas cost (which is high now), the 25 minute drive to the dealership and 25 minutes back from the dealer EVERY time now, and have to schedule time with my employer to be able to do this, only to have inept people incapable of thoroughly testing and truly fixing my vehicle's driver's side noise issue. Now i have to drive to a dealership 45 minutes away to even hope that they are at least more caring and attentive to fixing issues. Community Honda: they can't be relied on to fix things, and for that reason i'm going with Toyota in the future.... at least that vehicle has never had issues, AND it's older. Buyer beware if you live in the Lafayette area and think about buying a Honda. and update: They left such a sour taste in my mouth due to their lack of both problem-solving and genuine attempts to qualify and resolve my vehicle's issue, that i went and traded in my Ridgeline for a used Tacoma. Yeah, it was that frustrating to me.... At least i know the Toyota service department is reliable and cares enough to truly fix issues (check their reviews). The window noise was so annoying in the driver side of the ridgeline and they did nothing but insanely repeat same "fix" of replacing the seal instead of trouble-shooting like i advised to see where else the sounds could be coming from or to investigate other areas (like the partition between that window and the small glass area in front of that, or the actual window itself or the internals).... They do not care, and are in a hurry to check off boxes and hope that you get tired of driving over there over and over to get something fixed. read more

I brought my vehicle to Community Honda for a fuel pump recall/ repair and had a very concerning experience. After the repair, I noticed a strong fuel odor inside the cabin and later discovered that the fuel pump access cover under the rear seat was not properly secured, with visible fuel contamination including soaked carpet. I then took the vehicle to Team Honda of Acadiana, where they confirmed the issue and identified that the repair had not been completed properly. This is not just a workmanship issue it is a serious safety concern. I have young children who ride in this vehicle, and exposure to fuel vapors inside the cabin is unacceptable. When I contacted Community Honda about the issue, I was told there was nothing they could do and was redirected elsewhere. While I understand coordination between dealerships, this does not change the fact that the issue originated from an improperly completed recall repair. I am currently working to have this resolved, but I am very disappointed in both the quality of the work and how the situation was handled afterward. read more

If you have common sense don't ever go here! I had to bring my car in sometime last year to get a gasket repaired and it took them several weeks to "fix it". They kept saying it would be ready on this day and then the next day and so on. Once I finally got it back I drove it for about two days until I had yet another problem. Once they had finished "fixing it" for yet another time, I went to the dealership to get it and the guy "Mike" who was unprofessional the entire time couldn't even look my in my face as he a gave me the keys. Don't waste your time or money here. I was quoted in an email from Kristen a specific price plus TT&L. Once at the dealership, the sales person, Donovan, gives me a breakdown that has an additional $2,495 on it for an accessories package. I stated I didn't want any extras, and he insisted it was mandatory. Then he calls over the sales manager to "give me a discount". The sales manager tells me they can take $500 off, but that there is a disclaimer on the website that says this accessory package is on every car. I took their word for it and put down a deposit. After leaving, I scoured their website and couldn't find a disclaimer anywhere. I emailed with my intent to cancel my order and only then did they offer to take the "mandatory" accessories package off. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere. TLDR: they are scamming people into a $2,495 "mandatory" accessories package (nitrogen in tires, Honda weather tech floor mats, and wheel locks) and not giving an option to opt out. read more

The one thing you don't want to hear is that your transmission went out when you bring your car to a dealership. My family was stranded in Lafayette during the holiday on our way to see family on the east coast. We had our car towed to Community Honda and had to leave it there over the Holiday. Branden in the service department took care of us. He let us know what was wrong and helped us through the process. We decided to sell our vehicle and cut our losses. Lance and the management team were fair and gave us a good deal. Taylor helped us with the paperwork and everything went smooth. Regarding the service department, almost $3,000 of services completed over a year and a half ago have never been inputted into the Honda database (or whatever this is called). So when I moved to a new state, the new Honda service place didn't have any record of these repairs and told me I was due for them even though I had paid Community Honda a lot to have it done. I contacted Community Honda service and was told it takes time. It's been over a year and half, so I feel they are lying to me. The Honda service I deal with now told me it doesn't take time. In fact, I contacted the service manager the day after services and he said, Yes, all of the most recent repairs were in the Honda database. So I now think that Community Honda never put in all the repairs I had done there into the system. And then lied to me when I asked about it. So I would definitely never trust this place again. Besides Community Honda, the other 4 places I have had service done at have recorded everything in the the Honda system/database. Because of Community Honda's mistake, I have to be vigilant and show a new Honda service department paper copies of services done so the new place doesn't tell me I am due for a repair that I am not due for. So Community Honda's mistake has caused me problems for over a year and a half. I no longer trust this place, would not not recommend them, and would never go to them again if I lived in LA. read more

There have been 3 instances where I have received poor service from the service department. I purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Community Honda in January of 2025. About a week after I purchased the vehicle, my tire pressure light notified me of low pressure in my front passenger tire. I checked the tire myself and noticed there was a crater on the sidewall of my tire. I brought in my vehicle to Community Honda Express service. The tire was checked and I was told that the tire was not losing pressure (Thinking back on this instance, I was not given any documentation for this service). The second instance was for the same issue, front passenger tire losing pressure. I assumed because of the crater in the sidewall again. I brought it into Community Honda service department again and I was dismissed again on the same account that the tire was not losing pressure. I ended up having to replace the tire at a Goodyear myself because the tire kept losing pressure and with the crater being in the sidewall, this was a major concern to me. Although this was a major concern to me, it was not a major concern to Community Honda to offer to replace my tire. The third instance of bad service happened today where I brought my vehicle in to have an engine guard on my undercarriage attached back in place. I had to do this service through express service. I was expecting this to be a somewhat quick fix. However, I had to wait an hour and a half before my car was taken back for service. This was also after I said something to a service advisor and asked when my car would be taken back for service. Once it was taken back, the service lasted only 2 minutes and was brought back to me. I was told that the part was taken off. Things I noticed about this service was that I wasn't given a ticket again for the completed service and I wasn't offered a replacement part and service to be done on my vehicle. When I called later in the day to try to set up the part and service to be done on my vehicle, I was told that I probably hit a pothole or something in the road for this part to have come off. This is a service that I have had done on previous vehicles I have owned and on those other vehicles, this part was always something that would present an issue after oil changes. Since this is a pre-owned vehicle, this is something that is possible considering I know I have not hit a pothole that hard for this part to pop out of place and it is a part that is held together with screws. All of these encounters with Community Honda Service Department have been very disappointing and I will have to look for another Honda dealership to replace the part on my car. I do not trust Community Honda Service Department to service my vehicle no longer after today as I do care about my safety on the road and it seems as if Community Honda Service Department does not. read more

I purchased a used Honda vehicle 3/16 under the impression it had some form of warranty. At the closing table, I noticed it did not have any warranty, then purchased one. Three days later it's in the shop and now it's 4/6. Every manager cannot tell me what's exactly wrong, verified with the warranty no claim was open. The dealer has been in possession of the car with no action, delayed & vague reply. Would not buy a car here, would not service a vehicle here. EDIT: The Service Manager called to discuss what happened and how things could have worked out better. It was very obvious from speaking with him that he appreciate and respects his clients, and that he's trying to run a reputable business and not just "make some cash" or anything. I will NEVER bring my business here again, and I have already begun to tell all I know, especially other Honda owners, to do similar. Mon 21st: I dropped my Fit off on Mon 21st, being told it would only take a few hours for them to repair the recall issue. They called me and said they'd need to keep it overnight because they were busy. It should be ready by Wed 23rd. I had doctor's appointments all day Tue and Wed that I had to arrange rides for, but I did it anyway. I was told since it was a safety issue, they could not release the car back into my possession. I was reluctant, but apparently had no choice. Had they told me this ahead of time, I would not have scheduled my appointment the day before doctor's appointments. But as I was told on the phone when scheduling it would only be a few hours, I did. Wed 23rd: I was told they ordered the incorrect part (part for an automatic, despite the Team Leader and I discussing for several minutes how it was a standard and we prefer driving them). They said the new part would be in on Fri 25th. I told them I would be out of town (riding with others) and would be able to get it Mon 28th; they said fine. Mon 28th: They told me they broke something else while working in there. So now they had to order another replacement part, which would arrive Tue 22nd. Tue 22nd: The truck did not arrive. (THIS, I understand, was not their fault.) They hoped it would be in Wed 23rd. I told them I was going out of town *and needed my car for this trip*. They said they'd have something for me to borrow, if nothing else. Wed 23rd: My car was finally ready! I requested a courtesy trip check for my troubles, specifically mentioning oil and tires. They said that would not be a problem. My tires still looked low when I got my car, so I checked them anyway, just in case -- one was 23.8 and another 28.6, when they all should have been 32-35 PSI. Obviously, this facility does not even know how to check the air in tires competently. read more

I've read most all the reviews here and I was hoping to be able to give some praise and redeem this place with a 5 star rating, but they simply wouldn't let me. My story is almost that of a saga, but I'll try to make it shorter than reading the Harry Potter series. Lol. I have several cars of my own in addition to my wife's car and my 5 kids autos. Additionally, I buy and trade cars in almost annually so in my old age, I've been to a lot of dealers. Locally, we frequent the AUDI, BMW, VW, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda and Ford dealers on a regular basis. So. My story. I have a 2006 S2000 and it needed a new top. I stopped in here and was quoted $1800 for the top and $1800 for labor. Wow. Big ticket item. So I decided to try and find a factory top online for less since they said they would install a factory top if I got one elsewhere. I found one and saved $700 on it. 3 months later I took it to get installed (arranged the drop off with service). 17 days later and a dozen phone calls and the car was ready. Kind of. It turned out that the mechanic who could do convertible tops was no longer employed so they called me 3 days later and told me they couldn't do it. After several calls and discussions, Community offered to coordinate the install with another shop for a reasonable fee. The top was installed and looks good. However, during the transport of the vehicle from one shop to the other, the car had an electrical issue. This was also repaired but when I picked up the car the service engine light was on. It turns out they missed (or fell off?) a vacuum hose. Aside from that the car was filthy as I picked out two handful of leaves and acorns out of every crevice of the car including the floors being a mess. Had there been no engine light on and was provided a clean car, I would have given 4 or 5 stars. I do thank Matthew and he really went the extra mile to try and make good on everything including asking me to come back another day so they could clean the car but this whole ordeal has me asking what kind of leadership the service department is under and the talent of the mechanics there. After 17 days this car shouldn't have been delivered with the engine light still on and the car filthy. (There was even sticky spots like soda on the inside dash and outside which I assume was from the guys putting in the top). Overall, a decent outcome but certainly not on par with other dealers in Lafayette. Maybe in time they will get better. I do enjoy the popcorn they offer in the waiting room and the showroom is new and modern so they have the proper facilities, it's just working to be perfect in service. Enjoy! read more

The car is only 10 months off the lot! The car drove fine. So I left and had the battery checked by a trusted shop. The battery is fine. I have recently had my 2017 Ridgeline serviced for a Transmission flushed and software updated, but also they said it needed a front end alignment because of tire wear. Which I know for a fact that was not true, tires checked out fine and there was no pulling to either side while driving. Because of warranty, they had to change all fuel injectors according to Honda. When I picked up my truck ($651), went home, opened up my hood to check there work, several clips were missing on the radiator shroud, pvc hose clamp was missing, one of the screws was also missing by the intake manifold. My truck was NEVER service this far into the engine before except for engine oil change. When brought back, they apologized and said it would be taken care of. They had to order the clips that were missing, but instead of replacing the OEM hose clamp, they slapped on a tractor supply clamp instead. After speaking to the manager,told me that the service tech had 15 years experience. Which it looked like a shade tree mechanic job. Seems to me, working on Honda engines for that long, you wouldn't loose parts that much. But like Kim Elswick says "It's All About You at Community Honda". HORRIBLE!! My husband Travis arranged, via text, a test drive of an HR-V this past Monday evening. Was told by Kristen that Ryan (supposedly the sales manager) would meet him for this. I left a work meeting early to be with my husband for the test drive. Get to the dealership only to find out that Ryan has left. A young lady came up and said she would do the test drive with us. Told her it was for an HR-V and she said they didn't have any on the lot. My husband told her that he had texted with Kristen just a few hours ago and arranged the test drive (showed her the text message from Kristen). The young lady then went to check and came back and said that they didn't have an HR-V on the lot and the one that my husband was told he could test drive was "incoming". Why would a dealership schedule a test drive when they knew they didn't have the vehicle on the lot? No one apologized or tried to find an explanation, we were just dismissed. It's now Wednesday and no one from Community Honda has ever bothered to call my husband and apologize or explain what happened. This is the second bad experience we have had with Community Honda! The lack of professionalism and customer service there is frustrating. We believe in shopping local but Community Honda will never get our business again. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me! We won't be fooled again. We ended up contacting Richard's Honda in Baton Rouge again. The staff was much more professional, they gave us a slightly better deal on the vehicle, and were nice enough to tell us up front that the vehicle wouldn't be available until November 7th. Not thrilled about having to drive to Baton Rouge to buy a car but well worth the drive to deal with people who know how customers should be treated. read more

Before I got my car, they were supposed to change the steering wheel and detail it. They said that the steering wheel would take more time to come in so we had to wait to get the car. My mom said that we would just buy the car and when the steering wheel came in, they could just change it and detail it at the same time. That was July of 2023. They told us the other week that the steering wheel finally came in so they told us to make an appointment to get it changed and get the detailing done. My dad made the appointment for 8:15 in the morning on that Saturday. They let my car sit there all day after I dropped it off, instead of calling us and saying that the wrong steering wheel came in and the guy that was supposed to detail it wasn't there. Well once the correct steering wheel came in, they called so we made another appointment for the same time. Once we picked it up we thought everything was fine at first sight. After driving it, I realized that my steering wheel is crooked and it looked like all they did was vacuum the inside and wipe down the outside with a polish. I am not going back there for anything I need. My dad is fixing the steering wheel at work and we are cleaning the seats ourselves. read more

Let me first say that I wanted to have a truly exceptional experience buying a car with Community Honda Lafayette. I mean, who wants to have an experience that they don't enjoy when buying a car? So, I went in with an open mind and wanted to enjoy what was going to take place. I made my appointment and requested to have a black car to view on the day I arrived. Upon arrival at my scheduled time, I was informed that the black car had been sold the previous night. Not really a big deal, I suppose, but it was somewhat bothersome that the vehicle was not available to view. It turned out that the car I was shown appealed to me much more than the black, which was a good thing. Subsequent to this, it all deteriorated and was not a pleasant experience. First Car When viewing and inspecting the car, I noticed a multitude of brake dust and other raised spots (e.g., black, brown, orange) that were seemingly inconsistent with a platinum pearl paint job. The top layer of these spots scratched off, but the color remained and appeared embedded into the clear coat or even deeper and stained the white, which made it look dingy and dirty. I was not told that the car would be cleaned. I had to apprise the sales staff of the condition of the car. They subsequently stated that they would take care of it and clean it. So, it appears that they would have let me drive away from the dealership having not informed me of the state of the car. Full disclosure was definitely not on display from start to finish in the entirety of the process. After being informed that they cleaned it, I noticed two substantial scratches on the back right, lower side panel above the wheel. I was told that it would be fixed; this amounted to touch up paint being applied. I stated that I was not taking it like that, as it was supposed to be a brand new car. Further, a substantial amount of noticeable spots remained after reportedly being cleaned. Sales staff indicated that I would be getting an entire new car. Second Car As soon as I walked up to the car, I noticed something on the bottom of the front bumper. This appeared to possibly be dirt. That was not the case. It was a gouge/deep scratch that looked as if the paint had been pushed away with force and caused an uneven, rough look to that piece of the bumper. I could definitely see underneath the paint and immediately informed the salesperson. Upon further inspection of the car, I noticed a substantial gouge/scratch on the edge of the hood that went beyond the clear coat and other layers of paint to the metal of the car. There were also two other spots where the metal was visible on the hood that I found and sent pictures of to the salesperson. I was informed that this would be fixed. It was discussed that the weather would have to be nice in order for this to be conducted. A day was scheduled for me to drop off the car. I dropped off my car and checked on the status a few times. Once told that my vehicle was ready, I looked it over and was immediately dissatisfied. The bumper scratches appeared to have been minimally attended to or touched as it remained rough/bumpy and a black/dark gray color was still visible beneath the paint. It was definitely not fully platinum pearl white. The main gouge on my hood was "touched up." However, the blemish and unevenness are still noticeable. One spot on my hood appeared to have touch up paint on it, but the gray metal is still noticeable through the touch up. One of the spots appears to have been neglected altogether as the gray is not covered with anything and is just as visible as when I brought in my car. Overall, I purchased a new vehicle that appeared to have damage/defects that should not be present on a new vehicle. When supposedly fixed, it was definitely not in a new state. A touch up is not the same as a fix in my opinion. I was told that I asked for the touch up. I am sure that I would not agree to that as I did not think it was good enough for the first car that I refused to take that just had touch up paint on the scratches. I was told that a company was being used to fix the scratches and gouges. I wonder about that since all they did was use touch up paint, which is what was done on my first vehicle that never left Community Honda or had a company come in to look at it as far as I know. I expressed my displeasure with the salesperson, and he offered to have his manager explain it. However, I felt that course would be ineffectual as I have had multiple disappointing encounters and explanations that have not been satisfactory. My first main issue is the fact that this is supposed to be a brand new car with no noticeable blemishes in the paint. Honda reportedly conducts their own inspection and should have easily caught these issues as I did with barely a look. A second issue goes to the integrity of the paint. If the gouge is deep enough to see the metal of the hood, I am concerned about rust and further deterioration without the protection of pain read more

I wanted to buy a Honda Accord 2021 2.0 L so it came with XM radio and more horsepower, but the sales manager assured me he would have XM radio installed the following week in a 2020 1.5L Accord by his aftermarket installer, that was well over 2 weeks ago. They never keep me informed and when I do text or message them it always "we're waiting on a part". I put $4000 down on this car to get a lower payment and I can't even get a $200 radio installed that they promised. Worst car buying experience I've ever had since I bought my first car 33 years ago. This place is absolute garbage and the service manager is an incompetent asshole. They refused to fix damage that was done by their dumbass techs because they don't understand how to put a bumper back onto a Honda correctly. I had warranty work done before the ownership change when it was Moss and my car was not put back together properly and when I tried resolving it I was given the run around. Now that the ownership changed I thought they would help me considering my skid plate fell off and then my bumper feel off and caused damage to the underside of the vehicle. They proceeded to tell me it should have been taken care of before the ownership change and that someone caused the damage by bottoming the car right. The dude didn't even know how the bumper and everything was pieced together and I had to explain it to him. Seriously, this place was trash before and it's trash now. I will NEVER be back. read more
