    My little girl Luvee

I still love this place! Dr Crocker is awesome as well as everyone else that works there. They genuinely care and know how much your pet means to you. They've always called me back when I've left a message and most recently called the day after my little girl's teeth extractions to check on her. I've been to a few clinics in the area and I won't go anywhere else now.

Polo checking out Marco's new "do" (where the IV was).

Marco had a rather harrowing stay at the Animal Emergency Hospital (you can read about it here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/animal-emergency-hospital-of-north-texas-grapevine#hrid:kuNdHzUZPxhHpp1ShPloYw). After he was released we had him boarded at NWAH, as we were out of town. Since Marco was recovering, we felt much better about having him at NWAH where he would be looked after by a vet and get periodic checkups. This turned out to be a good decision, as Marco definitely needed a little extra care (he had an IV to ensure he was getting enough fluids). When we picked him up on 8/8/2011 he was much happier and healthier than when we saw him on 8/3/2011. Marco is home now, and is almost his same old self (oddly he seems to be "play fighting" with our other cat more, and he seems a tad more vocal). He's not too crazy about his new diet (prescription Hills s/d), which he needs to be on for 30 days. After that I think he will need to be on prescription Hills c/d (or similar, we are currently researching options, including making our own food, with an emphasis on reducing crystal-forming minerals in his diet and increasing the water he drinks - for that we are thinking about a fountain). Bottom line: We are very pleased with the care Marco received while at NWAH.

I had read great things online and came in genuinely hopeful. That quickly changed. When I arrived with my dog, Buddy, and asked for a tour, the receptionist initially told me I couldn't bring him inside because they didn't have his vaccination records. I explained that I had already created a profile and uploaded everything. She paused, said "Oh," and then changed the reason--now stating I couldn't bring him in because it might "wind up the other dogs." At that point, I didn't argue and put him back in the car with the A/C running, but it was disappointing. A tour should absolutely include seeing how your dog reacts to the environment. Inside, the facility felt dark and quiet, with most of the lights off. Aside from the receptionist, I only saw a cleaning staff member. The tour itself was underwhelming at best. There was no effort to engage--no questions about my dog, no interest in my needs, no explanation of their services or daily routines. It felt more like an obligation than a business that wanted my trust. She showed me the "Ultra Suite," which includes a queen bed, webcam, and TV. Unfortunately, the room looked unkempt--the bed was unmade, the blanket was messy, and it appeared it hadn't been cleaned since the last dog. For $155/night, that's unacceptable. She did apologize, but it didn't inspire confidence. Next was the "Deluxe Suite," which was significantly smaller with a basic dog mattress on the floor. It felt more like a kennel than a "suite." There was only one dog there during my visit, yet the odor in the facility was overwhelming. I couldn't wait to leave. After showing me a few rooms, the tour simply ended--no discussion of availability, no overview of care, no attempt to answer questions or build trust. It was awkward and, frankly, disappointing. I'm very glad I chose to visit in person instead of booking based on the website alone. There is no scenario where I would feel comfortable leaving my dog here.

When we picked her up, she was extremely lethargic and clearly not acting like herself. Within hours, we rushed her to urgent care and were told she had internal bleeding. She was immediately transferred to an emergency animal hospital, where she underwent an emergency splenectomy because cancer was suspected. Thankfully, pathology showed no cancer. We were then told by veterinary professionals that one possible cause of this type of injury is blunt force trauma. I went to this location in person and spoke with the manager to explain what happened and to seek answers--not to accuse anyone, but to understand how our dog could suffer a life-threatening internal injury while in their care. Instead of concern or empathy, I later received a phone call questioning the credibility of what I had said and asking for the name of the hospital and number in order to verify herself. There were no apologies, no expression of concern for Sally's condition, and no willingness to meaningfully engage with us. The focus was entirely on defending themselves and emphasizing how "big of an accusation" this was--despite the fact that we were simply looking for answers, not placing blame. Our dog almost died while under their care, and the lack of compassion, accountability, and basic concern afterward was deeply disturbing. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering leaving their pet here. Stay far away.

I only found out because, something in my gut didn't feel right. So, I called to get access to the webcams, an hour and a half after dropping him off and when I checked I didn't see him. Immediately, I called back to find out where he was and I was advised that he was isolated in a room, in an unfamiliar place, I immediately got in my car and headed to picked him up. When I arrived and demanded they bring my dog to me, he was visibly scared and confused, and the front desk staff seemed unaware of what was going on or the reason for my frustration!! This lack of communication and care is unacceptable. If vaccinations were an issue, my dog should never have been approved or accepted that morning. I would not trust this facility with my pet again.

1 Star for the Groomer Shannon 2 Stars for Woofies…read more Do NOT use Shannon!!! Shannon shaved my sweet cavaliers whiskers off! When addressed, I was told she did this because it's part of a standard cavalier show dog cut. Not only does Google disagree with that (shaving whiskers is not part of their standard cut), but when she asked me if I wanted a standard cut when she first arrived, I said NO, just trim paws, butt, and tummy fringe. She cut chunks of his ear hair off, and left several spots of matted hair on his tummy. For my Sheltie, his butt is still covered in bits of poop after his service and she shaved so close to skin on his back leg that she drew blood. He's been limping on it since. She took 1 hour to wash, cut, and dry each dog. The girl that came last time took 3 hours to do all of this. It takes myself over an hour just to blow dry each dog. Meaning there's no way she was able to complete their groomings in that timeframe without being aggressive with them. This is also evident in the fact that they were both shaking and skittish all evening. (I was told maybe she moved quickly because she got bit the day before??? but honestly, if she moves that aggressively with other dogs, I'd be surprised if she doesn't get bit more often). The owner called to discuss the situation 24+ hours after the service. After offering excuses for the poor quality service, he ended up refunding both dogs and offered to redo the services with a different groomer next time - which I appreciate. And why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. I'm shocked that Brian (owner) said she wouldn't be fired over this, and that he would subject other dogs to this treatment, but wanted to share my experience to add to Shannon's HR file, and hopefully prevent others from having to deal with her awful quality of service. If you must use Woofies, DO NOT USE SHANNON! Especially if you are wanting the quality of service that you're paying for. I would expect an experience like this from Petco.. or my toddler, not a "luxury" dog groomer.
