Had a fun girls night at Como. We had some really fun cocktails and great food to accompany. The service was great and staff were friendly. I'd recommend making a reservation because it gets busy. Excited for patio season when we can sit outside. Eggplant 10/10 Shishito peppers 8/10 Hanger steak 7.5/10 Octopus 8/10 Potato bravas 10/10

We frequent Como quite a bit, during dine out Vancouver they do a special set menu called Taste Our Travels, based on recent trip to Spain. They tour a region in Spain, find some dishes that impressed them and do their take on it. They only do a few tables a night with this menu, so you have to book and pay in advance. Food was delicious and timed well through the evening. Started with the Super Gilda, a small skewer of anchovy, artichoke, olive and pepper. Next was the Potato Bomba filled with Chorizo, followed by a cured Sablefish with a Tomato Vinegrette, a Squash Purée with Anchovies and their Flatbread, my favourite was next, a fried Salt Cured Pork Belly with a wonderful crunchy skin, next was Baby Squid on a Herb Romesco. The last savoury course was a Monkfish with Scallops and Shrimp in a nice Smokey sauce, we tapped out as we were getting full, maybe because of the Happy Hour and Bruschetta tapa we had before the meal. The dessert was their version of an Apple Pie. A great meal, looking forward to next year's.

Have been wanting to try this place since I saw their collaboration with The Paella Guys. Learned that it happens in the summer. The place is small with seatings for up to 4. It feels crowded but it gives a sense of dynamic and vigorous energy. Music is a bit loud for me, a tad lower volume would have made it more comfortable. We needed recommendations and our server, Christian, patiently explained what's good on the menu. There's one menu exclusively for sardines of different seafoods. *Marinated Olives: a good start to the night *Gilda: server instructed "take it in one bite" This is so yummy good *Fried Eggplant: humble veggie but creatively cooked, highly recommended and server was right *Costillas Fritas: tender fall off the bone ribs *Garlic Shrimp: huge and so delicious *Charred Broccolini, Guindilla Gribiche, Migas: I love the charring aroma on the broccolini, the guindilla gribiche and migas top perfectly with the veggie *BBQ Octopus, Squash, Mojo Verde, Hazelnuts: I have a weakness for Octopus and this is oh so good! *Pescado a la Plancha, Sobrassada: there is a delicate flavor to this dish. Who would have thought sobrasada (cured sausage) pairs well with fish! *Ati Manel Perafita/Small Scallop in Caldeira Sauce: a perfect tin *Jose Gourmet Perafita/Smoked Sardines in Olive Oil: another perfect tin It was an overall amazing night with small good bites!

We were in the mood for tapas and decided to drive down for happy hour (25% off most foods). Luckily made it 15 minutes before it ended and ordered everything quickly with the help of our friendly and knowledgeable server. Quite busy at the bar as you get free tapas with the purchase of a drink! Would be an option I want to do next time around. Not too loud but pretty full in terms of tables. On their regular menu, we ordered imported canned octopus ($28) and razor clams ($38). Both were chewy and as you would expect, and delicious with chips. On the Happy Hour Menu (w/ 25% off prices listed), we got: - Iberico Salchichon ($7.5) - I liked that this was a leaner cut of sausage and without much fattiness. - Patatas Bravas ($12) - SUPER crispy potatoes with bravas sauce that was not spicy. I can eat a whole plate of these! - Anchovies with bread ($12+$3) - Anchovies were standard, bread was good to soak up all the olive oil. However the bread was quite tough. - Vermut ($8) - first time having it and it's quite delicious! Service was great - our server explained everything and was super familiar with the entire menu. Food all came out super fast as well!

We needed a quick spot to eat dinner before a Whitecaps game at BC place. This is a relatively small spot in an up and coming neighborhood. We arrived during happy hour and saw people standing, drinking, and eating at the bar. We liked the decorations inside as it was football/soccer themed. The waitress mentioned happy hour as some drinks and tapas were at a discount during this time. She even came around to remind us if we wanted to add anything during happy hour. The food is as you would expect for spanish tapas. For me, some highlights were the patatas bravas (a must-have), the Spanish tortilla (we had outs with cheese but not necessary, IMO), and the croquettes. For dessert, we had the catalan cheesecake, which was amazing! The bathroom was the cherry on top for me as a football fan. The wallpaper had all of these famous players on it and even some funny ones (Allysa Milano of AC Milan). Also, if you are a football fan, you will appreciate the small details in terms of the menus. This restaurant had it all. Good vibes, good eats, and good drinks. We may be back if we visit again.

I had always wanted to try this Spanish tapas restaurant and finally got the chance to visit. Luckily, we were able to get a seat on the outdoor patio. The ambiance was nice and cozy. We started with a glass of Gewürztraminer and lager beer. Then, we ordered smoked sardine cans with potato chips, croquetas, costillas fritas, tostada matrimonio anchoa, boquerón with onion, paprika mackerel can, pulpo con papas, Basque cheesecake, and chestnut polvorón. Smoked sardine can and Paprika Mackerel can with potato chips served together. Server advised us to have sardine or Mackerel on the top of chips and put spicy sauce. Both of them were delicious. The croquetas had a creamy filling, which I really loved. The Costillas Fritas (pork ribs) came with a sweet BBQ sauce on top. The meat was juicy and crispy--absolutely delicious! The tostada was different from what I've had at other restaurants; it was more like a Spanish-style bruschetta. It was a unique dish and I think it paired well with the beer. The Pulpo con Papas (octopus dish) was the best dish. The octopus was super tender and melted in your mouth. The smoked paprika sauce and potatoes complemented each other perfectly--truly an amazing dish. We had Basque cheesecake and chestnut polvorón for dessert. The Basque cheesecake featured lemon, pistachio, and mint sauce on the bottom, inspired by Middle Eastern desserts, and was very unique. The dark chocolate semifreddo chestnut polvorón was served frozen and came with crumble and chocolate sauce. It was also amazing. Both desserts were delicious. I really enjoyed our meal, and we all loved this restaurant. Next time, we'd like to try it when the Paella Guy serves paella here. I'll definitely visit again.

We are visiting Vancouver for a family event. After a 16 hour travel day we wanted to grab a quick dinner. Such a great Spanish tapas spot. I don't eat pork and our server went out of his way to mark dots on all items that had pork in them to let me know what I was able to order. Tapas items were all delicious! Everything was super flavorful. The drinks also tasted great. Everything came out super quick and the staff was very kind and attentive. Really cute spot. Love the seating options as well. You can sit traditionally at a table, at the bar as well.

Despite being located really near my place, I somehow haven't visited Como Taperia until recently. Suffice to say I was very impressed and looking forward to coming back soon (might try their happy hour deal - which looks amazing!) Fried Eggplant ($15) 9/10 Best dish of the night. Sweet-salty from the honey, with crunchy outside and super soft eggplant inside. Croquetas ($15) 8.5/10 Another good one. Really creamy and cheesy, so the smaller size works in terms of not making it too overwhelming. Patatas Bravas ($16) 8/10 As my friend would say, judge a Spanish tapas place by its patatas bravas. This was also another winner, easily the best I've had in Vancouver. One feedback was that there's too much dressing for me. Pan Con Tomate ($8) extra anchovies ($7) 7/10 Crispy toast with tomato and anchovies on top. Hard to mess up but a bit lacklustre compared to the first 3. Octopus in spicy oil ($36) and yellowfin tuna belly ($28) 5/10 Both of these were tinned seafood menu, served with chips on the side. Just okay compared to everything else. I would probably skip their tin menu next time. Dark Chocolate Semifrio ($12) 7.5/10 We were expecting a cake but got something almost like ice pop texture? That said, the caramel sauce was addicting and I enjoyed the incorporation of marshmallow in the dish. Basque Cheesecake ($15) 7.5/10 Not sure of I like the lemon mint pistachio sauce(?). It's super watery and I didn't think the flavour combination works. The actual basque cheesecake was lovely though.

the service and the ambiance is really nice. i just don't think it is worth the price necessarily. we found the same canned products in seattle for a lot cheaper at pike place. the bikini sandwich is really good too but not worth the price. i would come here once to try it but probably not again.

Superb Spanish dining - truly world class. We went to the second "Taste our Travels' dinner last night and it was in another league! Have travelled to Spain and this is by far the most authentic representation in Vancouver restaurants. I have been a big food culture person for many years and truly appreciate the quality and genuine ingredients. Prices do reflect the calibre on ingredients used but are worth it in my opinion. The staff are also wonderful- very engaged and informed. the chefs behind the counter were wonderful to talk with while we dined. Bravo Como!

Mmm! Such a cute little spot at the tail end of Main Street, psa reminder - make resos online as it'll be difficult for walk ins to get a seat! With resos we were seated immediately, our server was wonderful in terms of recommending menu items to our tastebuds, and staying attentive during our time here. We picked a few items from the daily specials menu (handwritten on the column) and a few classic from their staple menu. My favorite was the skirt steak with Mojama butter. As a secondary cut of steak it was blow-my-mind delicious. Cooked to medium perfection, rich in flavours, super tender with subtle buttery flavours infused through. I would come back for this anytime. The heart skewer was a first timer for me. I was iffy about it at first as I'm not that into offal, but the flavour & texture combo melded very nicely. Texture wise it's very similar to gizzard, not overly cooked through but just right. It's definitely an adventurous step for me to order this one, and happy that I did. We didn't opt for many drinks and I've take notes - I will when I return - as the selection is quite broad! I can't wait to be back for more delicious, drool worthy tapas!

Tapas, mi amor! I recently went to ¿CóMO? Taperia for a birthday dinner, and let's just say each dish was a gift to my tastebuds. Bite after bite, it was an explosion of bold Spanish flavours. Upon our server's recommendations, my friend and I ordered the following: - Iberico Lardo, Dates, Walnuts ($10) - Patatas Bravas ($16) - BBQ Octopus, Squash, Mojo Verde, Hazelnuts ($42) - Charred Broccolini, Guindilla Gribiche, Migas ($19) - Fried Eggplant ($15) While every dish was delectable, my favourites were the Patatas Bravas and the Fried Eggplant, both of which were beautifully fried and addictive. I think what took them both over the edge were their respective flavours: the crisp potatoes were dressed in a delicious duo of brava sauce and aioli, while the eggplant slices were topped with rosemary and drizzled with honey. It's no understatement when I say that these may have been some of the best potato and eggplant dishes I've ever had. Our server was spectacular as well. Since it was our first time, he carefully explained the menu (canned vs fresh), recommended popular dishes and the amount to order, and asked additional questions when advised of my dietary restrictions. He even hung our jackets when we sat down! Service was quick as well - even though we didn't have reservations, we were quickly seated behind the bar and our server checked on us throughout the night. It's no wonder ¿CóMO? Taperia is recommended on the Michelin Guide. Honestly, I'm surprised at the Yelp rating here because high prices aside, the quality and service are both there. Yes, it is a smaller, more intimate space and you may have to wait for a table, but you'll be rewarded with authentic Spanish flavours with playfully modern twists.

Ever since visiting Spain a few summers ago, I've been wanting to relive that Spanish tapas experience here in Vancouver and finally got to do so at Como Taperia. Definitely the prices are quite a bit difference than in Spain but the food was absolutely delicious. I also just wanted to give a huge shutout to our server and the chef team at Como Taperia for being so so accommodating of our food restrictions and providing us with such an amazing experience. Price definitely well worth it. Our tapa selections included the following: Croquetas Garlic Shrimp Octopus Pork neck Small sardines in olive oil tin I particularly loved the octopus and pork neck and thought they had a lot of flavour and were unique. It was my first time trying canned sardines and although okay, wouldn't say it was my favourite. Looking forward to coming back here on another special occasion to try more of their offerings!

We had begun our night at Bar Gobo and just was not feeling it, so we decided to come to La Boqueria instead for dinner. We were able to get a table right away with a quick phone call, and they saved us a table upon our arrival! We mainly came here for wine and the delicious Pintxos, and between the two of us we shared a bottle of the Blasted Church Hatfields Fuse, and a platter of 5 Pintxos (great date meal!). Due to the current circumstances they seemed to be understaffed so the food was taking longer than usual so they offered us a complimentary dish of Pulpo a la Gallega - perfectly cooked giant octopus with potato, mayo and paprika - if I knew how delicious it was I would have definitely ordered it as an appy! The Pintxos are to die for - perfect for sharing. Our favourite was probably the negitoro, and the ultimate sardine. The platter of 5 is a perfect portion for 2 people and a great way to try a selection of Pintxos and a delicious explosion of variety of flavors. This place is a must-visit for seafood lovers, and such a unique offering comparing to the many tapas options in the city. My only feedback is I would have probably liked a more extensive list of red wine; maybe more full bodied reds? The cocktail list also looks amazing as well but sharing a bottle of wine is such a great date idea that we decided to leave the cocktails for our next visit. If you are looking for an unique romantic date night spot, I would highly recommend La Boqueria because it will be sure to delight and surprise your date with a great meal, ambiance, and great service. Truly a hidden gem in Vancouver for seafood and wine lovers. They are only open for dinner service for now so be sure to make a reservation.

Our server was attentive and around when we needed something but never interrupting, and his recommendations ended up being some of our favourite dishes. The mushroom toast was rich, savoury, and full of umami. Just a heads up not to let it sit too long since it softens the bread. The tuna tartare was fresh and well-balanced. Not my personal favourite served on toast, but still really enjoyable overall. The paella was excellent, perfectly cooked shrimp, tclams, and crispy pork belly chicharrón that added the best salty, fatty crunch. The roasted cabbage completely surprised me and was easily one of the best veggie dishes I've had in a while. I could have eaten a whole plate of it. It's located literally directly above Sip, if that helps. For food, our host had an appetizer platter made. It was mediocre at best. The vegetables were all soggy. Somewhat disappointing. I had the bartender mix up a "strong drink". It was a shot of JD mixed with something out a green mystery bottle. Hopefully it wasn't antifreeze. Came to $4.50. Not bad! My biggest problem (though this is not the only place guilty of this) is that the music is too freaking loud. I couldn't hear anything, and had to shout in people's ears. Yes there's a DJ there (and he's quite good, hello Snoop Dogg, blast from the past), but seriously, please turn it down a notch. The other thing I didn't like is that the interior is quite plain. Yes, it's supposed to look like a refinery, but putting 500 glass jars filled with random food items on the shelves on the wall doesn't cut it. It makes the place look like a 1800s supermarket instead. This place needs some help in the branding department. Overall the experience was okay, but it was nothing memorable at all. There are better places in town.

From the outside,it looked like a normal house in an industrial area. But walking through the doors, I was greeted by what felt like family! The decor was minimalistic but packed with so much flavour ( just like the food). We got the fois gras which was unlike any other I've had. It was covered with a sugary brûlée crust that added so much more dimension to its flavour and texture. This was also served with bread from the local bakery. We also got the seafood paella, which was super intimidating at first the platter looked HUGE on the table next to us, but turned out to be a good size. Really happy with the experience.

The cozy converted house was full but not loud with dim lighting and close‑set tables for an almost home‑dinner vibe. From my visit, we shared three standout plates. The alcachofas con jamón paired confit baby artichokes with roasted onion and jamón Ibérico. It was a good balance of textures and classic Spanish seasoning. The ensalada de ajo blanco con tomates asados y atún semicurado brought a creamier, richer profile: silky almond‑garlic dressing on fire‑roasted tomatoes with chunks of semi‑cured tuna and a drizzle of ash oil that added a nice aromatic note. The arroz negro arrived with seafood mixed into deeply flavoured squid‑ink rice; it was hot, savoury, and rich, perfect with a squeeze of lemon and garlicky aioli. Service was a definite high point! It was warm, knowledgeable, and paced so we weren't rushed. Portions were generous enough for sharing among two, especially with the more substantial rice dish in play. That said, the overall meal trended toward the rich and dense, so pairing with a couple of the lighter salads or crisp wines next time would help round things out. Would recommend for for date nights, small groups, or anyone curious about Spanish flavours. Lighter eaters might want to mix in a salad or a vegetable forward plate to balance the richer offerings.

It typically is made with lots of garlic, onions, bell peppers and cucumbers. This was refreshing and bursting with fresh-from-the-garden flavors. This was like non-alcoholic Spanish version of Tomato Caesar Drink. Taste: 3/5 Sangria - in house drink This tasted very refreshing with fruity smell and flavor. Taste: 4/5 Tortilla De Patatas Spanish omelette or Spanish tortilla is a traditional dish from Spain and one of the signature dishes in the Spanish cuisine. It is an omelette made with eggs and potatoes, optionally including onion. It is often served at room temperature as a tapa. Wikipedia It tasted good as an appetizer. The texture was like a breakfast potatoes with onions in omelette. I would like this to be served in hot. Taste: 3.5/5 Quillo Potato Chips - 100% olive oil and salt This Spanish potato chips were crunchy, crispy with a perfect balance of olive oil and salt. I like it. Taste: 4/5 Acorn Fed 100% Iberian Bellota Ham, Hand-cut It's about Cdn $3000 for the whole leg. It was not for samplings but luckily the staff hand-cut a small slice for us. He explained why this ham is premium quality & taste. This ham is from free range pigs that only fed with 100% acorns. Omg, it tasted amazingly delicious. It was like melt in your mouth with a rich aromatic flavor. Taste: 5/5 Unfortunately we came in late afternoon, other tapas and Basque-style Cheesecake samples were gone.
