Asked him how much for the diagnostic and he said don't worry about it. Instead of milking me for an obvious expensive job, not only did he let me go but he didn't charge me for diagnostic. A few months ago I brought a very old car with known issues. 97 Camry. I've had several mechanics look at it and they couldn't do much despite me paying them. Since this guy gave me a good deal last time decided to take it to him. After inspecting he said it'll be a major repair. Which I already knew from other mechanics. He said that it had a lot of problems and it's not worth repairing. He said that to give up on it cause if I take it to other mechanics, they'll just start repairing piece by piece and it'll add up. Fortunately, we decided we needed to stop for breakfast and as we came out to the car, my friend noticed a shadow reflection from beneath the vehicle. The whole bottom covering on the car had dropped down and was very close to the road! I decided we needed to find the nearest Nissan dealer. Got lost trying to find the Nissan dealership, and accidentally stumbled across this side street where all the businesses had wrought iron gates and fences around them. A little intimidating if you come from small town USA. We were in the process of turning around and getting back on the freeway, when I suddenly changed my mind and decided to give an auto repair business that we had just driven by, a shot. Little did we know that the bottom piece under the vehicle was already dragging onto the street! We couldn't hear it. So we pulled past the iron fences and gates, to this mechanic who also sells tires. As we drove in, the owner motioned for us to come on into the bay. We thought that was surprising, since they seemed very busy. Apparently, he could hear the scraping of the bottom of the car, as we drove in to his parking lot! Very bad situation that we had no idea was taking place with the condition of the vehicle. Fast forward 10 minutes, and the guys at this repair shop had re-attached this large plastic cover onto the bottom of my Nissan SUV and we were on our way. $30. Amazing. Honest, responsive, very pleasant and easy to deal with. This place was a Godsend for two women traveling alone in a vehicle that, had it continued up the freeway, could have caused a serious accident either to ourselves or to others with the loose piece that was scraping on the highway and about to drop off!
