Iced Oatmilk Latte & Jimmy Pesto Toast
    Jordyn C.

One of my favorite places to grab coffee & a bite in San Diego. It tends to be pretty busy throughout the day, but the baristas are awesome! Indoor & outdoor seating perfect to go in and work or grab a cup o' joe with friends. The Jimmy Pesto toast is ELITE! They have amazing lattes as well. Definitely worth stopping in!

I've been to Compa Coffee Roasters in Rancho Bernardo twice now. The first time I ordered an americano, just black, and the second time, a cortado. Both coffees were really good, which is the main point of coming to a coffee shop. Really smooth espresso, no burnt flavor, and good body + profile. The staff are really nice, despite the place sometimes getting super busy and hectic. There's always a bright, inviting vibe and atmosphere in the store. Tons of people use this place for remote work, too, so the Wi-Fi is probably pretty good. They also have a large food menu.

INCREDIBLE COFFEE, GREAT STAFF, CUTE INTERIOR! Had quite possibly the best iced vanilla of my life, the service was super sweet. Excellent vibes.

Golden Latte w/ a shot of espresso - YUM!

I joined my sis-in-law at her book club meeting for the first time. This month, the book besties chose COMPA COFFEE ROASTERS in Poway, and it was everyone's first visit. The cafe was poppin! Long line, but worth waiting for the yummy treats and caffeinated drinks. Even found a perfect seating area for our group of 10. The merch was super cute too!! I ordered the Golden Milk Latte with a shot of espresso, Chia pudding bowl, and a side of egg. YUM!! Everything was so healthy and delicious to me!! The weather was perfect so we sat outside near the children's play area. We were able to chat about Housemaid by Freida McFadden. After our hour at the cafe, we went to watch the Housemaid movie at nearby AMC theater!

Lavender Thyme Latte & Salted Maple Latte

I love a good coffee roaster, and Compa Coffee has officially gained another fan. My sister-in-law recommended this spot, so we stopped by one morning to grab coffee. It was already busy, and the plaza itself tends to get crowded, so navigating into the area for parking can be a bit frustrating especially during prime time. I ordered the Lavender Thyme Latte, while my sister chose the Maple Salt Latte. Both drinks were well balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The lavender and thyme came through subtly and complemented each other nicely without overpowering the coffee. I really enjoyed my drink and would order it again. I also took a sip of the Maple Salt Latte, which was just as good--flavorful but not too sweet, and not overly milky. The coffee still shined through. Overall, this is another solid coffee shop worth visiting in the RB area, and I'll definitely be back.

I think my family and I might have found our go to coffee shop. My vacationing daughter requested that I treat her to a morning cup of joe, which made me do a double take because she should be treating her old man, but as many parents can attest, our kiddos will always be our babies, so of course I acquiesced. My baby girl has visited Compa Coffee Roasters (CCR) one time previously, she enjoyed it, and requested that we stop by. This was my first visit to this coffee spot and after just the very first sip of my iced Salted Maple Latte extra sweet, CCR will be seeing this Filipino giant again. Compa Coffee Roasters is located in Rancho Bernardo specifically off the 15 freeway and the Rancho Bernardo Road exit. If you're driving north, make a right after you exit and head east. If you're driving south, make a left after you exit and head east. The coffee joint can be found in The Mercado outdoor shopping center with its anchor store being Barons Market. Besides Barons, Kangnam KBBQ, Pho Cao Dao, Xuan Tailoring & Alterations, Pizza Hut, Fed Ex, and one of our fave boba drink places, Presotea all reside here. There is plenty of parking, but when we visited, it was busy, so you might have to park far. CCR was jam packed when we entered, so obviously I'm a little late to the party of knowing what an awesome coffee spot this is. It's got a really cool vibe with wooden sun art on their walls, flora throughout the space, and the focal point being the diligent baristas doing their thing. There are wooden tables, bench seating, bar top with no bar seating, and plenty of outdoor seating. From the gentleman at the register and the baristas, the staff were friendly and had a positive disposition. Their merchandise was really cool especially their logo tshirts that looked like an old school San Diego Padres logo. I remember when Compa Coffee Roasters had just opened in Rancho Bernardo and I had been meaning to visit, but never got around to checking it out. Blessed that it was my coffee aficionado baby girl who enticed me to go and she was spot on CCR being a good coffee spot. CCR opens at 7am and closes at 6pm. Besides coffee, the java joint serves sandwiches, afternoon eats, variety of food, bagels, toasts, beer, and wine. When I talked to friendly gentleman behind the register, I asked what he recommended for someone who enjoys sweet coffee. He provided several recommendations including their Salted Maple Latte, which is what my daughter had planned to order. I kindly asked for an iced Salted Maple Latte, requesting it to be sweeter, and looked forward to trying my first CCR coffee drink. It was delicious from the first sip to the last, so much so that I savored that drink for quite awhile, which is abnormal for me. That's how tasty it was. It was the perfect sweetness for me, my taste buds could distinguish the coffee, and it was really flavorful. If you're into sweet coffee drinks, I highly recommend CCR's iced Salted Maple Latte extra sweet. You're welcome!!! I'm thankful to God for being able to spend quality time with my baby girl treating her to some cup of Joes from Compa Coffee Roasters. I'm also blessed that our new go to coffee spot is just around the corner from our home.

The service was fast and genuinely friendly, which made the experience even better. We ordered the Greek yogurt parfait and the banana chia pudding, and there were zero complaints on the food. Pro tip: there's honey at the bottom of the parfait, so make sure to mix it in, it makes every bite perfect. The granola in is spectacular. I would've bought a whole bag of it if i had known (i took my order to-go) The nitro brew was not bitter, which I really appreciated The ambience is warm, modern, and welcoming. It's the kind of space that works whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee, catching up with a friend, or need to do some work.

    Nitro Flash Brew

Writing this review off of a single cup of the Nitro Flash Brew. The coffee had great mouthfeel from the nitro pour and was creamy. The flavor however, wasn't great. Coffee was missing some roastiness and was borderline sour. I didn't even finish my cup. The staff was friendly and the place was clean, if I'm around, I would like to try another cup and potentially something else.

After a long hike in the morning, compa coffee really hit the spot with their coffees and breakfast options. I can't resist a good bagel and lox with an iced coffee. They also had a banana chia pudding which was a much larger bowl than I expected. I probably should have just ordered that but I wanted to try them all and took home leftovers. There is seating inside but also a row of tables outside on the side in the shade. Plenty of parking in the plaza with all the other businesses and they bring the food to you if you eat in house.

Great find!! We were in the area and wanted some drinks, so we stopped in. Great spot with ample seating inside and outside. Very friendly staff. The coffee was great as was the freshly brewed iced tea. I would definitely recommend Compa to a friend!!

Absolutely love their matcha latte here. It's hard to go anywhere else after having Compa's. I love that you can customize the sweetness to your liking. I prefer just using simple or honey, but it pairs well with their vanilla or salted maple syrup too. I've had the Best Coast bagel (their lox bagel) and it's pretty amazing! They literally stuff it and it's delicious. Loooove that they put fresh dill in it, I literally inhale that stuff. Employees and service is pretty nice, they're super sweet and they make the orders reasonably quick. Sometimes their mobile ordering is unavailable, but I suspect they're busy and it's taken down for the meantime. Nonetheless, Compa's is a great place to get your fix!

I was in the area when I needed a lunchtime pick-me-up. I drove around The Mercado and found it. Its name Compa piqued my interest. Compa is short for compadre, or friend. With that name, I had a feeling this coffee shop would be welcoming and all about its customers. I stepped inside a really cuuute shop...digging the decor. The staff behind the counter acknowledged me with a quick warm greeting and the rest was history. The staff was nice, the food and drink were deliciously well made and the atmosphere was very chill. Overall, my experience was positive. Definitely now my favorite coffee shop in RB!

Great food and coffee but way too crowded after Pete's closed down. I've tried the hot honey biscuit and their pour overs. So good.

That said, this is some of the best coffee in San Diego. It's worth the parking situation. I ordered an oat milk cortado and a whole milk latte. Both were delicious--balanced, flavorful, and showcasing serious attention to detail. My mom said the latte was one of the best she has ever had. The store itself has a cute and fun interior that's welcoming. They have tons of seating, including booths, high-tables, and even a big wrap lounge chair. The staff are really friendly and helpful people who smile, offer suggestions, and engage you authentically. Overall, highly recommend Jaunt to all coffee lovers (and even the casual dabblers).

Both were refreshing and very tasty. Highly recommend both. The service was fantastic. Everyone that worked there was kind and lovely but special shout out to John who excitedly explained all of the different beans (we wanted to take a bag home) and their specialty drink options. He was patient with all of our questions and very knowledgeable about where to steer us. It looked like they had empanadas but they also have cheesecake! We got a slice of the biscoff cheesecake and it was hella tasty. A lot of people were in here working which was nice. There are a lot of seating options and the AC was on which was ALSO very nice. They also have outdoor seating as well. It's in an unassuming industrial building but because of that parking is plentiful!
