I've had a/c issues since I moved into my home 9 years ago. I've spent thousands of dollars literally replacing several parts on things to get the house to cool. Every the same issue would pop up and the guy would tell me the last guy did something wrong. We used Competition A/C & Heat to replace a duct from our ac to our bedroom. I called them and they scheduled a initial visit to fix as much as they could in an hour and evaluate from there. They then patched the hole and scheduled to come back a few days later and replaced the duct without issue for an affordable price. I had called three other companies and had them all over to evaluate and replace the duct and each company kept quoting me a whole new AC. I appreciate Competition because they saw the issue and fixed it, not trying to upsell or try to convince me my working AC is a dud. They are a family business, who do the work. You can trust them. I mean that is what really matters to me. No one wants to get taken advantage of and I've never ever felt that way with Tommy and Tommy (father and son). We've used them for years but I'm finally writing a review here because they just installed a full new system for us this week. I cannot believe the generosity of the owner who responded to my Yelp message about servicing a non-functioning heater (in the freeze). He messaged me within 5-10 minutes and asked me to call him. He walked me through a series of checks on the heater, flipping switches and reading lights/diagnostics. Had me reprogram the heater control panels, and then gave me a few other ideas about defrosting the regulator on the propane tank. Competition is the BEST! Our a/c went out the day we brought our daughter home from the hospital after open heart surgery. They showed up within 4 hours, drove to Austin to pick up the part needed, came back and installed it and restored our a/c. When I called, they promised to restore our a/c the same day and kept their word! They also said the units (we have 2) do not need replacing, just keep maintaining them. Others have tried to talk us in to replacing.....Competition said they were excellent units, albeit old, but totally worth repairing!!! I can't even begin to thank Tommy and Trey for their work on my ac. After being quoted a ridiculous price for unnecessary repairs, I reached out to Competition AC. They inspected my unit and were able to tell me exactly what needed to be done and how much it would cost. The other company was sent out by my home warranty company and to get my covered repairs done I had to agree to pay a ridiculous amount for things I didn't even need. I spoke with Competition AC office Thursday afternoon and Tommy and Trey were there Friday morning. They were polite and very knowledgeable. The repair was done fast and right. They left the area cleaner than it was when they got here. These young men came to Conroe from San Marco, a 3 1/2 hour drive one way!!!! Talk about customer service!
