I bring all three of my vehicles into Redline for regular service. The shop is a bit off the beaten path, but the value is worth it!

I came back at 3:30, turns out they opened it for an hour, and closed it again, with no rhyme or reason. The workers themselves even seemed confused as to why one person said it was open an hour ago and the randomly closed again. There was also no apology for misinformation on their part. Terrible customer service. This business just makes things up as they please. If needing a reliable place to take your car to, don't come here. It will be a waste of your time. VTA gave me an estimate of $627 for the repair, which I found extremely excessive. I have previous experience working in a mechanic shop and have performed repairs including brakes, tie rods, shocks, struts, and ball joints. I decided to do the repair myself and had the wheel alignment done at Icon Auto Services in Manassas for only $80. I returned to VTA for the reinspection. The technician took the vehicle inside, completed the inspection, placed a passing inspection sticker on the windshield, and parked my car outside. However, after doing so, he came back and told me that my brakes were not working and that I needed to pay another $39 diagnostic fee or he would fail the vehicle again. He also mentioned contacting the State Police/Troopers and told me it would be illegal to drive the vehicle. I found this extremely concerning, especially because the vehicle had already passed the reinspection and the passing sticker had been placed on the windshield. My brakes had been working normally, and I had no indication of a brake problem. I took my keys and left. Since then, I have driven the vehicle approximately 300 miles, and the brakes, ABS, and ESC have continued to work normally with no problems whatsoever. The $627 estimate was already disappointing, but what really bothered me was the way the reinspection was handled. I felt pressured and intimidated into paying for an additional diagnostic service after my vehicle had already been passed. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to Virginia Tire & Auto. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion and comparing prices before authorizing repairs there.

**This is for my own personal experience and should be used as reference.**…read more I had a flat tire and came here since I have had service completed with them before but at a different location. They were able to take me on short notice and was able to find out the issue quickly and was able to fix the flat.... ...too bad it was the incorrect fix. I was advised that the tire valve had gone bad and needed to be replaced, which makes sense due to the lack of it holding air. So I agreed for them to fix it, and they acknowledged that they were going to replace the sensor as well. They replaced it with the wrong one and inserted a default sensor. Now the guy told me over the phone they had to replace it in order to keep the air. But he never said it would be with something that wouldn't respond to my system! Now my light has been on ever since (which is not the end of the world). The kicker is when I took my car to Toyota for service they checked it and said they can replace it...for a COVID price! #Nope Now, would I recommend this place...sure for emergencies only and maybe if you want tires. For anything else, nope.

They also used another wrench to remove them scratching the ones they did not lose. Later when I was home I found the wrench in the seat compartment as all Tacoma's have. Second time, I took my truck to get oil changed. Someone stole my CDs. I had those over a decade. They were in my truck compartment since I got my truck in 2017. I didn't check until a week after oil change. I called to inquire manager swore his guys would never did that and gave me my money back. I regret not making a police report and make them show their recordings if that shop. I let it go. Third time, after those incidents I took my truck else where. During that oil change they tell me screws from plate under the truck are missing. So more lost parts from Firestone. Do NOT go there.

I decided to do the sane thing and look at repair options instead. I had found Circuit Board Medics in South Carolina (these guys are the real deal btw) who would go on to do my repair for a 10th of the replacement price, but almost all of the shops around me were unwilling to remove the module for me to ship it out and then reinstall it once it was shipped back to me. Except Jorge. He gave me a reasonable price and service dates which was a little too close to the reinspection deadline but I had hoped it would be done by then. The first appointment, Tuesday, August 11, went really smoothly, Jorge came to my location and took off the module for me to ship out to the module techs down in SC on express delivery. Unfortunately there was only one day between me shipping it out and Jorge's Thursday appointment to reinstall the part. The techs in SC had a same-day turnaround but they ended up shipping it back out to me on the day of the appointment for it to arrive on Friday. Things had been going superbly up to that point. Because Thursday was the last day of the 15-day grace period, I was anxious to get it done as soon as possible because the fact that the period ended created new complications. Unfortunately, Jorge informed me that he would not be available until the following Monday. I understood his booking situation so I let him know that I might look for someone else to complete the job sooner because of the deadline that passed. He then offered to try to come on Saturday to which I offered to pay extra for him to try to come out on Friday, to which he agreed. Friday comes and I had asked him to let me know if he's likely to come out that day. He tells me that he couldn't make it that day at 7:30PM which was odd but things happen so I hoped he'd be able to come out on Saturday. Saturday comes, he texts later in the afternoon that he's busy and would come on Monday at 12PM. I didn't want to try to get a Sunday appointment at that point so I let it be. Monday comes and he's not here. A little while later he lets me know he's on his way, arrives at 1:30PM, gets the job done, and then we parted ways. Obviously, this was not the kind of service I expected to receive. I felt mistreated because of the following reasons: 1. I could have had someone else come and finish the job by Friday or Saturday. I completely would have understood if Jorge was unable to come but he sold me false hope and I believed it because, 2. I didn't want to rent a vehicle until he could come out but I could have! I thought it would be unnecessary since he'd definitely come today, tomorrow, the next day, when Christ comes back, etc. 3. I have lost earnings for nothing when I could have rented a car out and recouped some of the expenses that I had incurred and will incur because, 4. The car still failed inspection for another reason I didn't think would fail it and had I been working this past weekend, I would have been in a better position to get that new issue fixed. 5. I can't legally drive on public roads because the grace period has passed. Though it was the module techs who delayed the module, I had asked Jorge if he would be able to take off the module one day earlier so we could avoid a situation like this. He said he would try but he never confirmed it. The first appointment took literally 20 minutes and I would have paid extra for him to come the day before at an off hour or something so the inspection window would have less risk of closing. Though fixing this ultimately didn't stop the car from failing inspection again, at least I would have had more time to prepare for the next repair BEFORE the window closes. 6. After all of this grief, he was still late by an hour and 30 minutes on Monday without a single word of acknowledgement of the fact! I am so angry and disappointed in the way this all turned out. What had started off as an exceptional service has ended up costing me what I never expected it to, simply because an edge case scenario could not be handled properly and professionally. I hope Jorge can clarify any wrongdoing on my side and maybe rectify his end. I still reluctantly encourage anyone to give him a chance based on the other reviews written about this business and the factoring of "things happen"-ing, but he has lost my confidence. This is technically a one-star review but I didn't want to be any more blunt.
