Since 2022, I have had awful, debilitating vertigo episodes that impacted both my professional and personal life. My primary doctor was able to refer me and I started my vestibular physical therapy sessions with Dr. Faustino (Robbie) several months ago. By the time I was referred, I had several mild-moderate vertigo episodes but needed serious vestibular rehabilitation therapy due to my imbalanced gait and dizziness symptoms. Dr. Faustino helped me and listened to my concerns and I felt fully supported throughout my time working with him. As of yesterday, I have been discharged (yay!) because I no longer experience symptoms thanks to the rehab sessions and exercises that Robbie taught me. So I just want to say a huge thanks to him. I'm a physical therapist so I feel like I have an edge on evaluating the quality of care that is delivered by other PT's. My aunt was fortunate enough to be referred to Complete Balance Solutions for a diagnosis of gait disturbances and falls. Most PT offices could cobble together a treatment plan to improve strength, awareness and balance, but the care she received from Meagan was truly extraordinary. Firstly, each therapist schedules only ONE patient per hour and she will spend the entire time, one on one with the patient. The facility owns state of the art testing equipment such as a balance booth which has moving walls and shifting base and sensors to assess whether the patient is shifting and responding correctly. They combine the high tech equipment with plenty of no-frills exercises that the patient can do at home, so the takeaway is the perfect "balance" (pardon the pun)! My aunt did not work with Debbie, but I was able to observe her working with other patients, and it seemed that both therapists delivered the same brand of caring/competent therapy, so I'd highly recommend this facility. read more

Megan Mar is a life-changing vestibular/balance therapist. She diagnosed both me and a family member (a few years apart) with Superior Semi-Circular Canal Dehiscence (SSCD) before any other doctor/specialist did. This was after years of debilitating vestibular challenges (vertigo), migraines, etc. We were denied our symptoms (gaslighted) by ENTs, Neurologist, etc. Megan Mar told us what type of scan to request from the ENT. Our ENTs said that we didn't have SSCD, but that they would do the scan anyway; low and behold, the scans revealed that we indeed had SSCD. We both took our scans to the world-renowned SSCD experts Dr. Gopen and Dr. Yang at UCLA and proceeded with surgery. After surgery, we both sought balance therapy for rehabilitation. Megan Mar was the utmost expert at explaining how our brain and body work in recalibrating our eyes, ears, and brain in space. She was patient, kind, confident and clear. There is no one else I would trust with balance therapy. Please trust your gut and real experts when you are seeking help. Megan Mar is far more an expert in vestibular function than the ENTs, audiologists, and other specialists I consulted prior to being diagnosed with SSCD. She is the best. I am now 5 months post-op and just had my last visit with her. I have my life back. She truly is a gift and I would highly recommend you see her for any balance/vestibular issue. My vestibular ENT recommended Complete Balance Solutions for vertigo and balance problems. Because of the distance and covid, we opted for Telehealth therapy. I was a bit skeptical about doing this via computer, but boy did I receive a pleasant surprise! Megan, my therapist, conducted an amazingly thorough exam via Zoom and started me out on vestibular training. After only 3 sessions I noticed a marked improvement and I've continued making progress since then. I'm a registered nurse so I've observed a lot of physical therapists, both as a nurse and as a patient, and they don't come any better than Megan. A few months ago I was diagnosed with Vestibular Migraines and 3PD by the neurotologist. He referred me for PT at Complete Balance Solutions specifically because he said that "they think outside the box there." Wow, was he right! I was scheduled to see physical therapist Megan Mar and I feel so lucky to have worked with her. Megan is an excellent educator, an attentive listener and an overall delight! She clearly explained the exercises and the rationales behind them, which really helped me understand VM and 3PD. If I didn't fully understand her initially, she adapted her explanations, which really made me feel heard. Megan was always flexible at my sessions and adjusted her plans to address my current symptoms. For example, recently I'd felt dizzy & off balance when washing my hair in the shower before I came to PT, so right off the bat we practiced strategies to deal with that! (BTW, her advice worked great!) She really is a professional with a wealth and depth of knowledge, which gave me lots of confidence in her, and I am so impressed by her creativity and attention to details. I loved being able to laugh with Megan and talk cooking & food and all kinds of things. And at the same time, I really appreciated when she would switch on a dime to seriously attend to corrections I needed to make in my form, and then return to whatever we had been talking about. I feel like I've regained so much independence: I can drive safely now in day and night and rain, I can shop at the grocery store without getting dizzy and nauseated, no more dizziness when watching TV or reading, and so much more. Awesome experience overall! Most of my symptoms are resolved or significantly improved and I've got tools now to cope - thanks Megan! I'm writing this to inform new possible patients on how they handle the billing situation. My insurance, Blue Shield of California, was apparently out of network, which I was never informed of. That meant that I was going to be paying most of the bill, but was never told this. After seeing them for months, I was never informed on any payment information or update on what my insurance was paying them. I stopped seeing them in March because of COVID and a few months later I received a bill for $1,400. I only saw the doctor 7-8 times. Then I received another bill for $400. Plus I paid $50 up front each visit. That is completely insane that they didn't tell me how much I was going to have to pay them. I am very upset that they did that, and I will never be returning.
