I understand that the key was indeed different than usual, but the guy there was too harsh when I decided to take a refund rather than come back again to fix a faulty duplicate. Keys copied quick and accurately. Friendly folks here as well. A little bit pricier than the hardware store as others have said, but the hardware store messed up my keys three times in a row. Good call Karen and Keith. While I wouldn't say the service was extra spectacular when I went, it was rather satisfactory. There was only one person ahead of me when I went in so I only spent about 10 minutes there in total. I think it only took them 2 minutes to actually make my duplicate keys. $2 for each duplicate and 35 cents for a new keyring. Great location so that you can stop in on your way to/from work. Oh, when I say location, I should say that they are located in the back of a large garage but don't let that scare you away. read more

This place rocks! I called them to get some keys made for a few lockable file cabinets in my office, and the keys were ready in half an hour. They even called me to let me know they were ready and asked if I wanted to pick them up or if I wanted to have a messenger deliver them. This is where to go if you want keys copied in the Financial District. Fon's in Chinatown is the cheapest (less than a dollar for keys to be copied). It costs about $5 for a key to be copied, but they do a pretty standard and quick job. Plus, they're very friendly :). read more

These guys are great! I had a key that needed duplicating and took it to Hardware Store to have them make me a copy and they couldn't do it. They said they don't carry "Specialty" keys like that.... It was a Padlock Key.. hardly specialty. I took my key to these guys thanks to the Yelp reviews and they took a look at it and quickly made me a key that worked perfect. These guys are great - when trying to duplicate an impossible key for a file cabinet made by an overseas manufacturer, I had Reg from Complete come to my office to see if there was anything else that could be done. After careful inspection he saved me from the costly options he could do and offered me alternatives with outside vendors. I really wanted to like this place, especially since it's right by my office, but the gentleman helping me was not really helpful. I gave him two keys, once silver one gold and told him I need four of each. He gave me back 8 GOLD keys. I asked him if he had silver, and he said no. That would have been nice to know BEFORE you made the keys. Then when I asked him which one was which, he told me I would have to match them up. Couldn't he have put them in separate bags instead of a wad??!! I've had keys made before at other places, so I knew if I kept my receipt and the keys didn't work, I could bring them back. I asked him about this, and he had to go check!! What??!! Nice selection of add-on items while I waited (pretty key rings and covers) but the whole experience wasn't worth the $3.50 a key I paid. I've paid a lot less and had better service elsewhere. read more

I went to get two keys cut and the Job was done within a minute. I have yet to see how well these keys will turn but from the reviews I'm confident they will be smooth. There was no wait and i was able to pay by card. The only minus was the price. Two keys for almost $8 is a lot. Or maybe I'm just use to Home Depot prices. read more

Paris was extremely helpful and informative and helped us out with lockwork on an extremely complicated, bizarre, and specific job. He was very responsive and understanding when we needed tweaks or for them to deviate from their typical process. Day of, things didn't work out as planned and he had no trouble adjusting and relating the situation. Plus he's friendly! I will go back for any job I need in the future and advise you to, too. I went to Complete Security after being turned away by 2 hardware stores who would not copy my bent key because they thought they would break it. This place was a rip off! They charged me $3.50 per key and did not tell me the price before copying them. Also, they do NOT copy do not duplicate keys (contrary to other reviewers below). I would just save yourself the trouble and go to Ace Hardware instead. read more

I used to love this place to duplicate keys. However, the last couple of times in 2016/2017, I felt like I got the runaround.

Closest place to get a key made in this neighborhood. I had a really unusual shaped mailbox key but they tried a few different ones and found one that worked. Since it was difficult, he told me to try it out and just bring it back if it didn't work. Very friendly and helpful. Complete Security did a great job for us--5 years ago and again today. The lock on our front door was broken and I was very uneasy about this.
